The HONEYWELL T6054A is an industrial/agricultural line voltage thermostat with the following features:

• Suitable for mounting in any position.

• Spdt (Single Pole, Double Throw) snap-acting switch.

• Application: Provides spdt line voltage control in ventilation, heating, cooling, or heating-cooling (with external changeover switch) applications.

• Maximum Temperature Exposure: The device may be exposed to a maximum temperature of 125°F (52°C).

• Differential: 3/5°F (1.9°C) fixed.

• Mounting: Mounts on a wall with 3 screws.

• Color: Gray.

The HONEYWELL T6054A has a scale range of minus 30°F to plus 100°F (minus 34°C to plus 38°C). The scale is marked in 2°F (1°C) increments.

The HONEYWELL T6054A has a switch actuated by a hydraulic temperature sensing element. The spdt (Single Pole, Double Throw) switching makes a connection from R to B on a temperature fall, or from R to W on a temperature rise.

CAUTION: Disconnect the power supply before installation to prevent electrical shock and equipment damage.

1. Read the installation instructions carefully. Failure to follow them could damage the product or cause a hazardous condition.

2. Check the ratings given in the instructions and on the product to make sure the product is suitable for your application.

3. The installer must be a trained, experienced service technician.

4. After installation is complete, check the product operation as provided in the instructions.

Select a location about 5 ft (1.5 m) above the floor in an area with good air circulation at average temperature.

Do not mount the HONEYWELL T6054A thermostat where it may be affected by:

• Drafts, or dead spots behind doors and in corners.

• Hot or cold air from ducts.

• Radiant heat from the sun or appliances.

• Concealed pipes and chimneys.

• Unheated (uncooled) areas behind the thermostat.

The HONEYWELL T6054A thermostat may be mounted in any position. Use the following procedure:

1. Remove the thermostat cover by unscrewing the single screw on the face of the control.

2. Remove the knockout from the case.

3. Mount the control at the selected location with three screws.

4. Run conduit between the thermostat, the power source, and the unit being controlled.

5. Run wiring through the knockout hole and make connections. Wiring should not interfere with the adjusting knob.

Always disconnect the power supply to prevent electrical shock and equipment damage. All wiring must comply with applicable electrical codes and ordinances. Below are typical hookups:

• For Heating Application: Connect the L1 (HOT) power supply to the R terminal on the thermostat. Connect the B terminal to the heating equipment. Connect the L2 power supply to the heating equipment.

• For Cooling or Ventilation Application: Connect the L1 (HOT) power supply to the R terminal on the thermostat. Connect the W terminal to the cooling equipment or ventilation motor. Connect the L2 power supply to the cooling equipment or ventilation motor.

• For Heating-Cooling Application: The HONEYWELL T6054A requires an external manual changeover switch for this application. The L1 (HOT) power supply connects to the R terminal. The W and B terminals connect to the changeover switch, which then directs power to either the heating or cooling equipment.

After completing installation and wiring, check the HONEYWELL T6054A operation as follows:

1. Turn on the power.

2. Turn the adjustment knob to move the temperature dial across the indicator and back again. If the wiring is correct, the controlled equipment will switch on and off as the temperature dial indicates the approximate space temperature.

Example for a heating application (wired R to B): Turning the dial counterclockwise to a higher setting simulates a space temperature drop, and the heating equipment should come on.

Example for a cooling or ventilating application (wired R to W): Turning the dial clockwise to a lower setting simulates a rise in temperature, and the cooling or ventilating equipment should come on.

• If the controlled equipment does not start and stop as the HONEYWELL T6054A thermostat dial is turned, disconnect the power supply and check the wiring and terminal connections.

• If the controlled equipment operates opposite to the sequence desired, shut off the power and check for reversed leads on the switch.
