Before and during unloading, inspect all equipment thoroughly for any signs of damage.

Describe the damage on the freight bill and obtain the driver’s signature. The carrier will supply the necessary claim forms. Failure to complete these steps may result in the carrier refusing the claim.

Uncrating equipment at a facility other than the final installation site may result in severe damage to the unit during subsequent transport. It is strongly recommended that the equipment only be uncrated at the installation site.

For shipments via a third-party carrier, contact the carrier within 10 days of delivery to follow their procedures and retain all packaging material. Failure to do so may result in claim refusal.

The HARMONY HMO2653R self-service case is designed to merchandise packaged products at product temperatures of 41 °F (5 °C) or less, unless customized with wire rack shelving.

For Type 1 conditions, store ambient conditions must be maintained at a maximum of 55% relative humidity and a maximum temperature of 75 °F (24 °C).

For Type 2 conditions, ambient store conditions must be maintained at a maximum of 60% relative humidity and a maximum temperature of 80 °F (27 °C).

Disconnect power before servicing the unit to avoid electric shock. If the unit employs separate circuits with more than one source of electrical supply, disconnect all electrical sources prior to servicing.

Do not operate the unit with covers removed. Fan blades may be exposed when the deck panel is removed. Power must be disconnected before removing the deck panel.

Electric coil condensate pans become hot during operation. Disconnect power and allow the pan to cool before cleaning or removing it from the case.

To maintain proper product temperatures, observe the following location guidelines:

Keep the unit at least 15 feet away from exterior doors, overhead HVAC vents, or any air curtain disruptions.

Do not expose the unit to direct sunlight or direct heat sources such as ovens or fryers.

Maintain at least an 8-inch clearance above self-contained units for proper air discharge.

Before powering up the unit, verify the following:

1. The condensate pan is positioned directly under the condensate drain.

2. The condensate pan plug is securely plugged into its receptacle.

3. The overflow pan is fully functional.

4. Any wicking material used is secure.

Remove the screws securing the shipping brackets to the skid, then remove the shipping brackets from the skid.

Follow these steps to safely remove the case from the skid:

1. Support the case while sliding it carefully toward the edge of the skid to prevent damage.

2. Once the case reaches the edge, lower it carefully until two levelers rest on the floor.

3. Carefully slide the skid out from underneath the case.

4. Move the case into its final position.

Follow these steps to remove the unit with casters:

1. Place a ramp flat against the skid to allow the case to slide smoothly.

2. Support the case at all times so its center of gravity does not cause it to tip or fall.

3. Unlock the casters, slide the unit to the rear of the skid, and roll it down the ramp off the skid.

Self-contained refrigerated cases require a minimum airflow clearance of 6 inches, with 12 inches recommended, at both the front and rear of the unit. Restricting airflow can cause performance issues.

To join multiple units together:

1. Begin by leveling all lineups starting from the highest point of the floor.

2. Once the first case is level, apply industrial-grade butyl caulk on non-visible end areas and industrial-grade silicone sealant on visible end areas, forming two caulk/sealant lines (sanitation and refrigeration).

3. Align the bolt holes of the second case with the first case.

4. Insert bolts into the designated hole locations (decking may need to be removed to access lower holes).

5. Ensure the front surfaces of the cases are flush with each other and at identical heights.

6. Lightly tighten nuts and bolts in a cross-wise pattern, tightening progressively firmer with each pass.

7. Level the second case after bolting, repeat for additional cases, and seal all adjoining seams with silicone sealant.

Before adjusting levelers or shimming frame support rails, verify the unit is properly positioned. Use the shims provided with the case under the frame support rails to bring the unit level. Once properly positioned and leveled, seal the case to the floor to prevent liquid or moisture penetration.

On self-contained models, the Main Power switch is located at the lower rear right side of the case. The Temperature Controller is located at the lower rear left side of the case.

Field wiring connections and electrical access for remote cases are located at the rear on the customer-left side of the case. Single-phase leads are provided.

To adjust the front toe-kick, loosen the adjustment screws located on the toe-kick, shift the toe-kick up or down to the desired height, and retighten the adjustment screws.

To remove a screwed-in front grille:

1. Remove the horizontal retainer screws located at each end of the case.

2. Remove the vertical retainer screws along the underside of the front panel.

3. Allow the grille to tip forward, then lift it up and away from the case.

4. Reinstall in reverse order and tighten all retainer screws securely.

For grilles held by retaining hooks without screws, simply lift the front grille straight up and off the case frame.

The optional magnetized condenser coil filter is located on the exterior of the rear grille and is held in place by magnetic strips. It can be pulled directly off the rear grille for routine cleaning or service.

To remove the rear grille, lift its slots up and off the retainer hooks on the rear panel. To remove the rear panel itself, unfasten the four Phillips-head screws holding it to the frame.

For remote units, power is supplied directly via hard-wiring. For self-contained units, switch on the Main Power switch at the lower rear right. The light switch is located on the upper inside right (viewed from the case rear). Note that lights are wired in series, so all light cords must be fully plugged in or receptacles capped for lighting to function.

Grasp the handle at the lower-front-center area of the case and pull upward. Place the attachment magnets onto the metal plate in front of the honeycomb to hold the extended curtain securely in place.

Grasp the handle, lift the curtain straight up off its magnetic attachment, and carefully guide it back into its housing roll in the lower section. Do not allow the spring-loaded curtain to freely snap back into the roll, as this can damage its tension mechanism.

Open the rear door, then slide the perforated Plexiglas plenum straight up and out of its frame. Take care not to scrape or scratch the plenum during removal or reinstallation.

Installation requires two people due to size and weight:

1. Hoist the security grid directly over the front air deflector.

2. Drop the two security grid positioning tabs into the baffle airflow slots at each end.

3. Slowly lean the grid back against the two security brackets.

4. Insert padlocks through the security grid and security brackets at each end and lock them securely.

Unlocking and removing the grid requires two people:

1. Unlock and remove both padlocks from the top security brackets.

2. Lean the security grid forward slightly.

3. Lift the grid upward to free the tabs from the baffle airflow slots, then store the grid, padlocks, and keys safely.

To remove shelves:

1. Remove glass shelving panels.

2. Unplug light cords if the shelf is illuminated.

3. Lift the light shelf upward to separate it from its brackets.

4. Remove the rear shelf support.

5. Remove shelf brackets. Pliers may be needed to remove nylon shipping bracket retainers if present.

To remove: Rotate the lamp 1/4-turn in either direction to disengage contact pins from sockets, then pull the bulb out applying even pressure from the back side.

To install: Align pins with socket slots, insert pins into socket, and rotate the bulb 1/4-turn until secure.

Disconnect the existing LED light fixture from its mounting brackets and adhesive tape. Firmly grasp the LED fixture while applying outward pressure to the brackets, then twist the LED fixture out and away from the brackets to release.

The plug must be oriented so that its oval shape connects directly to the matching oval form on the LED light fixture. Improper alignment will prevent the LED light from powering on.

Clean acrylic surfaces daily using a mild soap and water solution with a soft cloth. Do not use ammonia-based cleaners, abrasive agents, or coarse cloths, as they cause acrylic to cloud over time.

Clean side glass, front curved glass, and glass shelves daily using a standard household or commercial glass cleaner and a soft cloth.

Clean exterior wood, laminate, and painted surfaces daily using warm soap and water solution on a soft cloth. Never use wire scouring pads or abrasive cleaners.

Clean the magnetic air filter weekly to monthly depending on store environment:

1. Detach the filter from the rear grille.

2. Submerse in warm, soapy water and scrub gently with a soft-bristled brush to remove dust and grime.

3. Rinse thoroughly with clean water, allow to dry completely, and reinstall on the rear grille.

Wash stainless steel with liquid dishwashing detergent and hot water. Rinse with pure hot water from a spray bottle and wipe with a clean sponge to remove soap residue. Dry with a soft cloth or paper towel. Never use scouring powder or steel wool.

Polish using a soft cloth or sponge sprayed with a solution of one part vinegar to two parts water, or sprinkle baking soda on a damp sponge and rub gently. Always rinse with pure hot water afterwards and dry thoroughly.

Apply two teaspoons of rubbing alcohol to a microfiber pad and rub along the metal grain, or dip a soft cloth in club soda and rub gently. Rinse with clean hot water and dry completely.

Apply a dab of olive oil to a clean soft cloth and rub with firm pressure in small circular motions along the surface grooves until a light sheen appears. Buff excess oil away using a dry paper towel or cloth.

1. Check that the main light switch is switched to the ON position.

2. Verify that all light cords and plugs are securely connected.

3. Ensure receptacles are properly capped if lights are chained.

Perform the following checks:

1. Confirm that warm, unchilled product was not recently loaded into the case in large quantities.

2. Check that the case is not exposed to direct sunlight, heat sources, or air conditioning discharge vents.

3. Verify that the magnetic air filter and condenser coil are free of dust buildup.

4. Check air return grilles for obstructions or product blocking airflow.

Turn off case power and disconnect the plug from the wall outlet. Remove floor decks from the case interior, then wipe down the fan shroud and surrounding tub area using a damp cloth.

Disconnect power to the unit. Vacuum out the tub area underneath the decks, scrub with a mild soap and warm water solution, wipe dry with a clean cloth, and remove any debris that could clog the drain line.

Inspect wicking material quarterly by sliding out the refrigeration unit. If wicking material is dirty, worn, tattered, or disintegrating, replace it with new material to maintain proper evaporation function.

Disconnect unit power and remove access panels. Use compressed air or an industrial vacuum to clean dust and dirt from the condenser coil fins. Use wet rags to catch airborne dust during blowing. Coil fins are sharp; exercise care during handling.

To remove the honeycomb air diffuser:

1. Wedge a non-metallic tool (such as a ballpoint pen) between the honeycomb and the end panel, taking care not to dislodge any anti-condensation heating wires.

2. Apply pressure to collapse the honeycomb structure inward.

3. Pry downward and away from the retainer housing.

4. Clean in warm soap and water, brush off stubborn residue, and blow dry using a vacuum in blow mode before reinstalling.

Squeeze the honeycomb to allow it to fit into its retainer bracket, carefully slide it into place, and adjust it so it sits completely flat without waving or bowing.

To adjust the temperature setpoint:

1. Press and hold the SET key for at least 1 second.

2. Use the up or down arrow keys to increase or decrease the setpoint value.

3. Press and release the SET key again to confirm and store the setting.

To change temperature readout units:

1. Press and hold the Prg and SET keys together for 5 seconds until “0” flashes on the display.

2. Confirm password prompt by pressing SET.

3. Press the arrow keys until parameter “/5” is displayed.

4. Press SET to modify parameter “/5”.

5. Press the arrow keys to select “0” for Celsius or “1” for Fahrenheit.

6. Press SET to temporarily save the selection.

7. Press and hold the Prg key for 5 seconds to permanently store changes.

To start a manual defrost cycle, press and hold the def (down arrow) key on the CAREL controller for at least 5 seconds.
