Select a suitable location with easy access to an electrical outlet. Ensure there are no obstructions restricting airflow through the front air intake grill. Maintain a minimum clearance of at least 20 cm (8 inches) between adjacent walls and the back of the DANBY DIPLOMAT DDR2506 to allow proper air circulation.

To obtain maximum operating efficiency from the DANBY DIPLOMAT DDR2506, the recommended room ambient operating temperature should be between 6 degrees Celsius (42.8 degrees Fahrenheit) and 35 degrees Celsius (95 degrees Fahrenheit).

Press the up or down button once. The set relative humidity operating value will flash for approximately 5 seconds in the LED window before reverting back to displaying the internal room relative humidity value.

Pressing the ON/OFF button turns the DANBY DIPLOMAT DDR2506 on (illuminating the adjacent indicator light) or off (turning off the indicator light).

Press the CONT. button on the keypad. In continuous mode, the humidistat is bypassed and the compressor operates non-stop regardless of humidity conditions. The green indicator light above the button illuminates while continuous mode is active. Specific humidity settings cannot be programmed while in this mode.

Press the HUMIDITY UP button to increase the relative humidity setting incrementally by 5% (ranging from 35% to 80%). Press the HUMIDITY DOWN button to decrease the setting incrementally by 5% (ranging from 80% to 35%).

Select either HIGH FAN or LOW FAN on the control keypad. The green indicator light directly above the chosen speed button will illuminate to confirm selection.

The red WATER FULL indicator light illuminates when either the internal water tank is full or the water tank is not properly installed inside the cabinet. In either case, the dehumidifying system will shut down until the tank is emptied and correctly repositioned.

When the DANBY DIPLOMAT DDR2506 is first connected to an electrical outlet, the green power light flashes until the ON/OFF button is pressed. Once activated, the power light turns steady ON.

Whenever the DANBY DIPLOMAT DDR2506 is re-connected to power or recovers from a power outage, the electronic controls reset to factory defaults:

In the event of a power failure, the DANBY DIPLOMAT DDR2506 will not restart automatically when power is restored. You must press the ON/OFF keypad again to restart the unit, and custom settings will need to be reprogrammed as the unit defaults to factory settings. However, when switched off manually via the ON/OFF button, it retains the last program setting used.

The water tank holds condensed water and controls water level via a float switch actuator. When the tank is full or displaced, the float actuator breaks contact with the safety switch, immediately shutting down both the compressor and fan motor. Never attempt to tamper with or bypass the water level float switch system.

The DANBY DIPLOMAT DDR2506 passes moist air over a dehumidifying evaporator coil. Moisture condenses on the coil and drains into the internal removable water tank. The exhausted air returned to the room is slightly warm, contributing to lowering the room relative humidity.

The removable air filter minimizes dust and dirt particles in the surrounding air. A clogged air filter reduces intake airflow and negatively impacts operating efficiency. Never operate the DANBY DIPLOMAT DDR2506 without the filter in place.

Step 1. Grasp the filter handle and slide the air filter out from the front of the unit.

Step 2. Clean the filter thoroughly using a vacuum cleaner or wash it with lukewarm water and mild detergent.

Step 3. Dry the filter completely before re-installing.

Step 4. Re-install by sliding the filter back into the tracks until it locks in place.

The air filter should be checked and cleaned regularly every 2 weeks. More frequent cleaning may be needed depending on indoor air quality.

Step 1. Remove or cut away the plastic drain cover located at the rear of the cabinet, and remove the water tank from the front.

Step 2. Cut a garden drain hose to required length and insert one end directly into the direct drain opening.

Step 3. Push firmly onto the drain connector nipple until it stops to form a pressure fit.

Step 4. Re-install the water tank into the cabinet, ensuring the water full light turns off. The water tank must remain installed even when using direct drain.

Step 5. Position the open end of the drain hose directly over a floor drain, keeping the hose below ground level.

No. Do not attempt to operate the direct drain feature using drain or stem pipes above ground level. The direct drain feature relies on gravity and is designed for use over a floor drain.

When direct drain is no longer used, remove the drain hose from the internal connection nipple and seal the rear direct drain opening with the provided rubber cap.

Never use gasoline, benzene, paint thinner, or other harsh chemicals to clean the DANBY DIPLOMAT DDR2506, as these substances damage plastic components and degrade the finish. Never pour water directly onto exterior surfaces.

Use only a soft cloth with mild dishwashing detergent and lukewarm water to wipe exterior surfaces, then dry thoroughly.

Step 1. Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet.
