Is this appliance intended for household use only? Yes.

What should you do to reduce the risk of electric shock? This appliance has a polarized plug (one wide blade) that reduces the risk of electric shock. The plug fits only one way into a polarized outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the plug by modifying the plug in any way or using an adapter. If the plug does not fit, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, have an electrician replace the outlet.

Why was the length of the cord selected? The length of the cord used on this appliance was selected to reduce the hazards of becoming tangled in or tripping over a longer cord.

What should you do if a longer cord is necessary? If a longer cord is necessary, an approved extension cord may be used. The electrical rating of the extension cord must be equal to or greater than the rating of the appliance. Care must be taken to arrange the extension cord so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or accidentally tripped over.

How do you remove the cutting unit?

  1. Unplug cord from electrical outlet.
  2. To remove the cutting unit: Press release button.

How do you clean the cutting unit? Wash cutting unit in hot soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Can also be placed in top rack of dishwasher.

How do you clean the can opener body and the area behind the cutting unit? Wipe the can opener body and the area behind the cutting unit with a damp cloth. Never immerse the can opener in water.

How do you re-assemble the cutting unit? Raise lever slightly then slide the cutting unit onto the body until the release button clicks into place.

How do you use the can opener?

  1. Place can opener on level surface.
  2. Plug cord into electrical outlet.
  3. Raise piercing lever up.
  4. Place rim of can firmly under can guide pin and against the geared wheel.
  5. Press piercing lever all the way down.
  6. The motor will begin turning can and cutting lid. (It is not necessary to hold the piercing lever down or to hold the can during the cutting action.)
  7. The motor will automatically stop when the can is open.
  8. Remove can from can opener and check can contents to remove any pieces of label or metal shavings.

What is the duration of the warranty? This product is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of original purchase.

What is the remedy if the product is found to be defective? During this period, your exclusive remedy is repair or replacement of this product or any component found to be defective, at our option; however, you are responsible for all costs associated with returning the product to us and our returning a product or component under this warranty to you. If the product or component is no longer available, we will replace with a similar one of equal or greater value.

What does the warranty not cover? This warranty does not cover glass, filters, wear from normal use, use not in conformity with the printed directions, or damage to the product resulting from accident, alteration, abuse, or misuse.

What should you do if there is a bump, dent, or heavy seam in rim of can? If there is a bump, dent, or heavy seam in rim of can, open other end of the can or position the cutting unit to start opening just beyond the problem.

Does the motor of the can opener need to be oiled? The motor of your can opener is permanently lubricated and will require no oiling.

How do you use the cord storage on back of opener? To use cord storage on back of opener, push in or pull out cord as needed.

How do you lock the cord? To lock the cord, turn cord sideways and slide up into cord lock slot.

What should you do if piercing lever does not move freely? If piercing lever does not move freely, remove and clean the cutting unit.

How do you use the knife sharpener?

  1. Place cutting edge of knife in the knife slot located on the back of the can opener.
  2. Draw the knife blade through the slot several times.
  3. Clean knife after sharpening.

Can serrated blades be inserted into the knife sharpener? No. Serrated blades should never be inserted into this unit.
