The GARDEBRUK DBHC001 is designed for shredding fibrous and wooden garden waste ready for composting. It is only suitable for domestic use and not for commercial use.

Slide the frame into the motor housing and secure it with the two ST5 x 20 screws.

Important: The motor will not run if the housing locking screw is not seated in the safety switch after assembly. Please check carefully and ensure that the housing is properly closed.

Step 1. Mount the axle on the frame.

Step 2. Attach the washers on both sides of the axle.

Step 3. Slide the wheels onto the axle and secure them with split pins.

Step 4. Attach the wheel caps.

Lift the safety handle up and slide the collection box onto the base frame. When you let go of the safety handle, the collection container is automatically locked in place. To remove the box, lift up the safety handle again and slide the box out of the base frame.

The GARDEBRUK DBHC001 requires a power supply of 230 – 240 V ~ 50 Hz. It is recommended to use a residual current device (RCD) with a tripping current of no more than 30 mA. For cables up to 25 m, a cross-section of at least 3 x 1.5 mm² is required; for cables longer than 25 m, the cross-section must be at least 2.5 mm².

To switch on the GARDEBRUK DBHC001, press the on/off switch to the ‘I’ position. To switch off, press the on/off switch to the ‘0’ position. The machine is equipped with a safety switch to prevent unintentional restarting after a power interruption.

If the blades are blocked or the material is too thick, the motor protection switch will automatically cut off the power. Wait at least 1 minute before restarting by pressing the on/off switch. If the motor protection is triggered, unplug the mains plug, unscrew the housing locking screw, open the main housing, clean the cutting and ejection area, close the housing, tighten the locking screw, and press the on/off switch to restart.

Heavy, hard material or branches can cause the blades to jam. You can counteract this by pulling the material out a little by hand. Fill soft material like leaves using the pusher provided. Always feed material from the left-hand side. Do not shred kitchen waste; compost it directly. Dense branches with foliage should be shredded completely before adding new material.

If the blades are blunt, they can be turned once by 180° and reused. If replacing, they must be done in pairs. Open the appliance, block the blade disc with a screwdriver, and remove the screws with an Allen key. Install the new blades in reverse order.
