The cylinder head bolt pattern is designed to suit the 18-bolt arrangement for the M-6049-E460 Pro Stock wedge head. This differs from the 18-bolt pattern for the M-6049-D460 Yates type head, as six bolts have been moved .070″. A Hemi bolt pattern is also available.
What are the specifications for the intake lifter bores on the FORD M-6010-A500?
The intake lifter bores have been moved .125″ from the stock location toward the adjacent bulkhead. Additionally, the angle has been changed from 49° to 45° to improve the intake pushrod angle.
What are the crankshaft counterweight radius restrictions for the FORD M-6010-A500?
The cylinder bores have been extended into the crankcase area to provide added support for the pistons. Consequently, the crankshaft counterweight radius must be restricted to clear. The maximum radius from the center of the crank is approximately 3.45″.
What main bearings are required for the FORD M-6010-A500?
The main bearing bulkheads have been narrowed and the bearing locator notches moved to suit Clevite MS 1041 P main bearings on #1, 2, 4, and 5 mains. A standard Ford 351C thrust bearing fits the #3 main.
Note that 351C main bearings may also be used on #1, 2, 4, and 5 if they are narrowed to fit and the notches are modified.

A starter mounting pad is provided on the driver’s side of the block. The Tilton severe duty starter PN# 54-20079 bolts on and features the correct offset for currently available Pro Stock flywheels.
What cylinder head gaskets are available for the FORD M-6010-A500?
Cylinder head gaskets are available from Ford Racing under PN # M-6051-E460. This is a composition head gasket manufactured by Fel Pro featuring a 4.700″ ID bore grommet and .053″ compressed thickness.
Also available is the M-6051-A500 head gasket, which features a 4.780″ bore grommet to accommodate very large bores. It has a compressed thickness of .053″ and features laser-welded bore grommets.
Does the FORD M-6010-A500 come with cam bearings?
Yes, the block is machined for and comes with M-6261-A460 roller cam bearings.
What water pump configuration works with the FORD M-6010-A500?
A big block Chevy CSI water pump will bolt up to the Danny Bee front cover used with this block.
