How do I operate the rotary switch on the FENIX LD35R?
Turn the rotary switch clockwise to turn the light on.
Turn the rotary switch counter-clockwise to turn the light off.
How do I select the output on the FENIX LD35R?
In the general mode, single click the functional switch to cycle through Eco→Low→Med→High→Turbo.
In the functional mode, single click the functional switch to cycle through Moon→Low→Med→High→Strobe.
How do I switch between General mode and Functional mode on the FENIX LD35R?
With the FENIX LD35R turned on, press and hold the functional switch for 0.8 seconds to switch between General mode and Functional mode.
How do I lock and unlock the FENIX LD35R?
Lock: Turn the rotary switch counter-clockwise until the light turns off. A current will still be drawn. To fully cut off power, unscrew the tail cap half a turn.
Unlock: Turn the rotary switch clockwise to turn on the light.
What is the memory function of the FENIX LD35R?
The FENIX LD35R memorizes the last selected output of the General mode (except Strobe). When turned on again, the previously used output of the General mode will be recalled.
The FENIX LD35R will enter the previously used output of the Functional mode when the Functional mode is activated.
How does the intelligent over-heat protection work on the FENIX LD35R?
The FENIX LD35R will accumulate a lot of heat when used on Turbo/High output levels for extended periods. When the light reaches a temperature of 60°C or above, the light will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature. When the temperature drops below 60°C, it will then allow the user to reselect the Turbo/High output.
How do I charge the FENIX LD35R?
1. Switch off the light and open the anti-dust cap to reveal the USB Type-C charging port.
2. Plug the USB Type-C side of the charging cable into the charging port of the light, and plug the other side into a power source.
3. The indicator will display red while charging and will turn green when fully charged. The normal charging time of the Fenix ARB-L21-5000 V2.0 is approximately 3 hours.
4. Once charging is complete, be sure to tighten the anti-dust cap to ensure the dustproof and waterproof ability.
Note:
1. When the light is charging, the Eco output is available (only in General mode).
2. Recharge a stored FENIX LD35R every four months to maintain the optimal performance of the battery.
3. The FENIX LD35R has an anti-dust cap and a charging indicator.
What are the charging indicator displays on the FENIX LD35R?
The indicator displays red while charging and turns green when fully charged.
How does the battery level indication function work on the FENIX LD35R?
When the FENIX LD35R is switched on, the indicator in the rotary switch will display the battery status for 3 seconds.
Green light: 100% – 85%
Flashing Green light: 85% – 50%
Red light: 50% – 25%
Flashing Red light: 25% – 1%
Note: This battery level indication only works with the Fenix ARB-L21 series 21700 battery.
What is the low-voltage warning function of the FENIX LD35R?
When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the FENIX LD35R is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until the Eco output is reached. When the Eco output is reached, the indicator flashes red every five minutes to remind you to recharge the battery. To ensure normal use, the light will not turn off automatically and will work until the battery runs out.
What are the recommended batteries for the FENIX LD35R?
The FENIX LD35R uses one ARB-L21 series 21700 Li-ion battery (recommended) or one 18650 Li-ion battery (with an adapter). Do not use CR123A or 16340 batteries.
Fenix Recommended Batteries: One Fenix ARB-L21-5000 V2.0 21700 rechargeable Li-ion battery, or One Fenix ARB-L18-2600/2900/3400/3500 18650 rechargeable Li-ion battery (with an adapter).
Other Usable Batteries: Other brands of 21700 rechargeable Li-ion batteries (without protection circuit), or Other brands of 18650 rechargeable Li-ion batteries (with an adapter).
Unusable Batteries: CR123A, 16340, 18650 Li-ion battery (without protection circuit).
Warning: The FENIX LD35R is a high-intensity lighting device capable of causing eye damage to the user or others. Avoid shining the light directly into anyone’s eyes. This FENIX LD35R flashlight is a high-performance device. Use caution when running it on Turbo for extended periods, as it will accumulate heat rapidly and result in a high temperature on the flashlight surface. Pay attention to safety regulations when operating in an enclosed or small space.
What factors cause the FENIX LD35R to step down to a lower mode?
The FENIX LD35R has an intelligent downshifting feature due to heat accumulation or low voltage.
1. Over-heat protection: When the light reaches 60°C or above, it automatically steps down a few lumens to reduce the temperature. When the temperature drops below 60°C, it will allow the user to reselect the Turbo/High output.
2. Low-voltage warning: When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the light is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until the Eco output is reached. When the Eco output is reached, the indicator flashes red every five minutes to remind you to recharge the battery.
What are the general use and maintenance instructions for the FENIX LD35R?
1. Disassembling the sealed head can cause damage to the FENIX LD35R and will void the warranty.
2. Fenix recommends using an excellent quality protected rechargeable Li-ion battery.
3. If the FENIX LD35R will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery for proper storage.
4. Unscrew the tail cap or remove the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transport.
5. Regular cleaning of the battery contacts improves the flashlight’s performance as dirty contacts may cause the flashlight to flicker, work intermittently, or even fail to illuminate for the following reasons:
a. The battery needs replacing.
Solution: Replace the battery (Ensure the battery is inserted according to the polarity markings).
b. The threads, PCB contact, or other contacts are dirty.
Solution: Clean the contact points with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol.
If the above methods don’t work, please refer to the warranty policy.
