A layer of frost or ice forms on the rear inner wall. High room temperatures (e.g. on hot summer days) and a high temperature controller setting can lead to continuous cooling operation. The compressor must run continuously to maintain the set temperature in the appliance. The appliance is not able to defrost automatically, as this is only possible when the compressor is not running. Turn the temperature control to a lower level. The compressor will switch on and off as usual and automatic defrosting will continue.
