Before connecting the ESPERANZA EKT008 Waffle Maker to a power socket, check that the technical details on the appliance label match the electrical voltage in the socket.

Only plug the ESPERANZA EKT008 Waffle Maker into a correctly grounded socket.

The ESPERANZA EKT008 Waffle Maker is designed for use indoors. Do not use this appliance for commercial purposes. Do not use the appliance in industrial surroundings or outdoors!

Do not use the ESPERANZA EKT008 Waffle Maker for any other than its intended purpose.

Do not place the ESPERANZA EKT008 Waffle Maker on or near an electric or gas stove or other sources of heat.

Do not place the ESPERANZA EKT008 Waffle Maker at the edge of a utility surface or on an unstable surface. The appliance must be located on a stable and even surface.

After connecting the ESPERANZA EKT008 Waffle Maker into an electric power supply the cooking surface and the outer surface of the appliance begins to heat up. Do not touch the hot surface. To close or open the top cooking plate use the thermally insulated handle and for removing the waffle use a wooden or heat resistant plastic spatula.

Allow adequate air circulation around the ESPERANZA EKT008 Waffle Maker when in use. Do not place any objects on the heated surface of the appliance.

Always turn off the ESPERANZA EKT008 Waffle Maker and disconnect it from the power socket if you leave it without supervision or if you will not be using it and before cleaning.

Allow the ESPERANZA EKT008 Waffle Maker to fully cool down before moving, cleaning or storing it.

Clean the grilling surfaces after each use.

To avoid any injury by electrical shock, do not clean the ESPERANZA EKT008 Waffle Maker under running water and do not submerge it in water or any liquid.

Ensure that the power cord does not come into contact with water or moisture or heated surface.

Do not disconnect the ESPERANZA EKT008 Waffle Maker from the power socket by pulling on the power cord. This could damage the power cord or the power socket. Disconnect the cord from the power socket by gently pulling out the plug of the power cord.

If the power cord is damaged, have it replaced at a technical service center. It is forbidden to use the appliance if it has a damaged power cord or plug.

To avoid the danger of injury by electrical shock, do not repair the ESPERANZA EKT008 Waffle Maker yourself or make any adjustments to it. Have all repairs or adjustments of the appliance done at an authorized service center.

1) Remove the ESPERANZA EKT008 Waffle Maker from the packing material.

2) Wipe the cooking plates with a wet cloth or sponge and dry completely with a paper towel or dry cloth.

3) Connect the ESPERANZA EKT008 Waffle Maker to the power supply and leave it turned on for at least 5-7 minutes to dissipate any odor.

Note: When first turned on, there may be light smoke emitted. This is due to the heating of internal components and it will pass in a moment.

1) Prepare the pastry that you intended to bake. In the end of the manual, we introduce you some delicious waffles with recipes.

2) Coat the cooking plates with butter or cooking oil to avoid sticking to the plates.

3) Connect the ESPERANZA EKT008 Waffle Maker to a power supply. Both indicator lights on the top panel will light up. Red indicator light indicates connection into the electric power supply. Green light indicates heating of the cooking plates.

4) Close the ESPERANZA EKT008 Waffle Maker for more efficient pre-heating of the cooking plates.

5) Spread the pastry evenly over the lower baking surface. To determine the correct amount of pastry, fill it until the pastry lightly touches the edge of the baking area. If necessary, increase the amount of pastry used in the next waffle. Make certain that the pastry does not run over the edge of the baking surface. Now close the lid.

6) When the green light is off, open the lid to check the waffle. Opening the lid earlier will only tear the waffle.

Note: As the ideal level of browning is very dependent on personal taste and the type of pastry, the baking time can vary: Therefore, bake the waffles until your personally desired level of browning is achieved. The level of browning can be determined the length of baking time. In this way you can bake crispy golden waffles.

7) After baking the last waffle, remove the power plug from the wall socket and allow the appliance to cool with the lid up.

Note: The heating indicator light turns on and off. This signalizes that the operating temperature of cooking plates is maintained. Do not use a fork or knife or anything made of metal. Otherwise the non-stick coating may be damaged.

Before cleaning the appliance disconnect it from the electric power supply and allow it to cool down.

Clean the non-stick surface of the cooking plates after each use. This will prevent a build-up of burnt pieces of food residue. To clean, use a moistly soft cloth. If some burnt food residue is left on the cooking plates, sprinkle with water and mild dish detergent. Wipe clean afterwards with a clean, moist cloth.

Tip: The cooking plates are easier to clean in lukewarm.

Wipe outer surface of the device with a soft wet cloth and dry completely off.

Never rinse the device under running water or submerge it in water or another liquid.

Do not use abrasive cleaning products, petrol or solvents for cleaning.

If the cooking plates are cold, close the top plate and secure the handles with the lock.

Store the device in a clean, dry place out of reach of children.

Tip: Storing the device vertically will save space in your kitchen.

Standard crispy waffles

Ingredients:

-2 glass of wheat flour

-2 eggs

-2 glass of milk

-2 spoon of sugar

-1/3 glass of sunflower oil

-1 flat spoon of baking powder

-pinch of salt

Instructions:

Fold down and heat up the ESPERANZA EKT008 Waffle Maker. Put the transparent liquid from the egg aside. And mix all the ingredients to beat to foamy cream. Then put the transparent liquid from the egg inside the cream and stir them together gently. Bake it in the waffle maker until golden brown. Place the finished waffles on a cooling rack.

Chocolate Waffles

For approx. 8 waffles

Ingredients:

-200 g soft butter

-200 g sugar

-4 eggs

-150 g creme fraiche

-80 g chocolate chips

-200 g wheat flour

Instructions:

Fold down and heat up the ESPERANZA EKT008 Waffle Maker. Beat the butter, sugar, eggs and creme fraiche to a foamy butter. Stir in the chocolate chips and the flour. Bake it in the waffle maker until golden brown. Place the finished waffles on a cooling rack.

Honey Waffles

For approx. 8 waffles

Ingredients:

-150 g soft butter

-3 eggs

-270 g wheat flour

-1 teaspoons baking powder

-1/4 Liter of milk

-4 tablespoon of honey

-1 pinch salt

-Powder sugar for dusting.

Instructions:

Fold down and heat up the ESPERANZA EKT008 Waffle Maker. Stir the butter, honey, eggs and salt to a foamy butter, then put the milk inside and stir them together. Then put the flour and baking powder. Let each waffle bake until golden brown. Place the finished waffles on a cooling rack and dust them with powder sugar while they are still warm.
