Before using your EPSON ET-4750, please be sure to read these instructions:

Do not connect a USB cable unless instructed to do so.

The initial ink bottles will be partly used to charge the print head. These bottles may print fewer pages compared with subsequent ink bottles.

Do not open the ink bottle package until you are ready to fill the ink tank.

For the best results, use up the ink within 6 months of opening the bottle.

When storing or transporting an ink bottle after removing its seal, do not tilt the bottle and do not subject it to impacts or temperature changes. Otherwise, ink may leak even if the cap is screwed on tightly.

Epson cannot guarantee the quality or reliability of non-genuine ink. The use of non-genuine ink may cause damage that is not covered by Epson’s warranties, and under certain circumstances, may cause erratic printer behavior.

The illustrations show the ET-4750, but the instructions are the same for the L6190 unless otherwise specified.

1. Remove all protective materials from the EPSON ET-4750.

2. Connect the power cord and press the power button to turn on the printer.

3. Use the arrow buttons on the control panel to select your language, country/region, and then the current time. Press OK to confirm.

1. When the message to see the Start Here sheet is displayed on the LCD screen, press and hold the help button for 5 seconds.

2. Follow the on-screen instructions, then open the scanner unit with the document cover closed.

3. Open the ink tank cover.

4. Open the cap for the black (BK) ink tank.

5. Unpack the black ink bottle. Remove the cap while holding the bottle upright; do not discard the cap.

6. Position the top of the ink bottle along the slots on the front of the filling port, and then stand the bottle upright to insert it. The bottle has a key for each color to prevent filling the wrong tank.

7. The ink fills automatically. If ink does not start to flow, remove the bottle and re-insert it. Filling stops automatically when the ink is filled to the upper line.

8. If ink remains in the bottle after filling to the upper line, remove the bottle and securely close the cap. The remaining ink can be used later.

9. Close the ink tank cap securely.

10. Repeat steps 4 through 9 for the other colors (C, M, Y).

11. Close the ink tank cover and then the scanner unit.

After filling all the ink tanks, the printer will begin the initial ink charging process.

1. Press the OK button on the control panel to start charging the ink. This process takes about 10 minutes. Wait until charging is complete.

2. Once the confirmation message appears on the screen, press OK.

3. The printer will then display a message to adjust the print quality. Press OK to proceed.

1. After the initial ink charging, follow the on-screen message and press OK to start the print quality adjustment.

2. Load paper into the paper cassette. You can load plain paper or Epson Bright White Ink Jet Paper. Set the paper guides to the edges of the paper.

3. Pull out the output tray.

4. Follow the on-screen instructions to print an alignment sheet. Select the square on the sheet with the least visible vertical banding to complete the alignment.

1. Follow the on-screen instructions to start the fax settings.

2. Enter your fax header information, such as your fax number and name.

3. Select the receive mode settings. For most home users, select “Auto”. This will answer calls automatically.

4. Connect a phone cable to the LINE port on the printer and to a wall jack. For connections through a DSL modem, ISDN, or PBX, you may need a filter or specific configuration. Consult your service provider’s documentation.

5. Once the cable is connected, press OK on the control panel to perform a fax connection check. Review the report and if there are any errors, follow the solutions on the screen.

6. If you want to connect a telephone to the same phone line, use the EXT. port on the printer.

For Windows users with a CD drive, insert the included CD and follow the on-screen instructions.

For Mac users or if you do not have a CD/DVD drive, visit the specified Epson support website to download and install the software and configure network settings.

For iOS/Android devices, visit the specified Epson support website for more information on printing from your smartphone or tablet.

If a firewall alert appears during installation, allow access for Epson applications.

If there is any ink remaining in the bottles after the initial setup, you can store it for later use. Make sure to close the cap securely and store the bottle upright. Do not leave the remaining ink in an area subject to temperature changes or direct sunlight.

Using your mobile device, you can print from any location worldwide to your Epson Connect compatible printer. Visit the Epson Connect website for more information on how to set this up.

1. Open the document cover.

2. Place your original document face-down on the scanner glass.

3. Close the document cover.

4. On the control panel, select “Copy”.

5. Make any necessary settings changes, such as selecting B&W or Color, and setting the number of copies.

6. Press the start button to begin copying.

If you see missing segments or broken lines in your printouts, the print head nozzles may be clogged. You should print a nozzle check pattern to verify this.

If the nozzle check pattern indicates a clog, you can run a print head cleaning cycle from the printer’s maintenance menu.

1. Visually check the ink tanks on the front of the EPSON ET-4750. Prolonged use of the product when the ink level is below the lower line could damage the product.

2. If an ink level is below the lower line, refill the ink tank. Refer to the steps for filling the ink tanks in the initial setup section.

3. After refilling the ink, you must reset the ink levels. On the printer’s LCD screen, navigate to the maintenance or settings menu to find the “Reset Ink Levels” option.

4. Follow the on-screen instructions. Select the color(s) you refilled to the upper line and confirm the reset.

Important: Do not reset the ink levels before refilling ink up to the upper lines, as this may cause ink level estimates to become incorrect.

1. Turn on the printer and wait for the print head to return to the home position.

2. Unplug the power cord.

3. Open the scanner unit and secure the print head in its home position on the right side with adhesive tape.

4. Close the scanner unit.

5. Ensure all ink tank caps are closed securely.

6. Pack the printer in its original box, using the protective materials. Keep the printer level during transport to prevent ink from leaking.

7. When transporting ink bottles, keep them upright and take precautions to prevent leaks, such as placing them in a bag.

After you move the printer, remove the tape that was securing the print head. If you notice a decline in print quality, run a print head cleaning cycle or align the print head from the printer’s maintenance menu.
