The power limitation feature defines how much total power the hob uses, within the limits of your house installation fuses. The hob is set to its highest possible power level by default. To change the power level:

1. Deactivate the hob.

2. Press and hold the On/Off button for 3 seconds. The display will come on and go off.

Ensure that the selected power fits your house installation fuses.

Touch the On/Off sensor field for 1 second to activate or deactivate the hob.

The Automatic Switch Off function deactivates the hob automatically if:

• all cooking zones are deactivated,

• you do not set a heat setting after activating the hob,

• you spill something or place an object on the control panel for more than 10 seconds (e.g., a pan, a cloth). An acoustic signal will sound, and the hob will deactivate. You must remove the object or clean the control panel to continue.

• the hob gets too hot (e.g., when a saucepan boils dry). Let the cooking zone cool down before using it again.

• you use incorrect cookware. The symbol “F” comes on, and the cooking zone deactivates after 2 minutes.

• you do not deactivate a cooking zone or change the heat setting. After some time, a symbol comes on, and the hob deactivates.

The time it takes for the hob to deactivate depends on the heat setting:

To set or change the heat setting, touch the control bar at the correct heat setting or move your finger along the control bar until you reach the desired setting.

OptiHeat Control is a 3-step residual heat indicator. As long as the indicator is visible, there is a risk of burns from residual heat. The indicators appear when a cooking zone is hot and show the level of residual heat.

• Three bars: continue cooking

• Two bars: keep warm

• One bar: residual heat

The indicator may also appear for neighboring cooking zones, when hot cookware is placed on a cold zone, or when the hob is deactivated but the zone is still hot. It disappears when the cooking zone has cooled down.

The Automatic Heat Up function allows you to reach a desired heat setting in a shorter time. When activated, the cooking zone operates at the highest heat setting initially and then continues at your desired setting. The cooking zone must be cold to activate this function.

To activate:

1. Touch the PowerBoost sensor field (“P” comes on).

2. Immediately touch the desired heat setting.

3. After 3 seconds, “A” comes on.

To deactivate, simply change the heat setting.

The PowerBoost function provides extra power to the induction cooking zones for a limited period. After this time, the zone automatically returns to the highest heat setting.

To activate for a cooking zone, touch the PowerBoost sensor field (“P”). “P” will appear on the display.

To deactivate, change the heat setting.

The Count Down Timer sets the length for a single cooking session. First, set the heat setting for the zone, then set the timer function.

1. To set the cooking zone: Touch the zone selector button repeatedly until the indicator for the desired cooking zone appears.

2. To activate the function: Touch the plus (+) button of the timer to set the time (00 – 99 minutes). When the zone’s indicator starts to flash, the time counts down.

3. To see the remaining time: Touch the zone selector button to select the cooking zone. The indicator will flash, and the display shows the remaining time.

4. To change the time: Touch the zone selector button, then touch the plus (+) or minus (-) button.

5. To deactivate the function: Touch the zone selector button, then touch the minus (-) button. The time will count down to 00, and the zone’s indicator will disappear.

When the countdown ends, an acoustic signal sounds, and “00” flashes. The cooking zone deactivates. To stop the sound, touch any sensor field.

CountUp Timer

This function monitors how long a cooking zone operates.

• To set the cooking zone: Touch the zone selector button repeatedly until the indicator for a cooking zone appears.

• To activate the function: Touch the minus (-) button of the timer. “UP” appears. The time starts counting up when the zone’s indicator flashes. The display switches between “UP” and the counted time in minutes.

• To see how long the zone operates: Touch the zone selector button to choose the zone. The display shows how long the zone has been operating.

• To deactivate the function: Touch the zone selector button, then touch the plus (+) or minus (-) button. The indicator for the cooking zone disappears.

Minute Minder

This function can be used when the hob is activated but the cooking zones are not operating. The heat setting display shows “0”.

• To activate the function: Touch the zone selector button and then touch the plus (+) or minus (-) button of the timer to set the time. When the time finishes, an acoustic signal sounds and “00” flashes.

• To stop the sound: Touch any sensor field. This function does not affect the operation of the cooking zones.

Pause

This function sets all operating cooking zones to the lowest heat setting (level 1). All other symbols on the control panel are locked. The timer functions do not stop.

• To activate: Press the Pause button. The symbol comes on.

• To deactivate: Press the Pause button again. The previous heat setting appears.

Lock

This function locks the control panel while cooking zones are operating to prevent accidental changes to the heat setting. Set the heat setting first.

• To activate: Touch the Lock button. The “L” symbol comes on for 4 seconds. The Timer stays on.

• To deactivate: Touch the Lock button again. The previous heat setting comes on. When you deactivate the hob, this function is also deactivated.

Child Safety Device

This function prevents accidental operation of the hob.

• To activate: Activate the hob with the On/Off button. Do not set any heat setting. Touch the Lock button for 4 seconds. The “L” symbol comes on. Deactivate the hob.

• To deactivate: Activate the hob. Do not set any heat setting. Touch the Lock button for 4 seconds. The “0” symbol comes on. Deactivate the hob.

• To override for one cooking time: Activate the hob. The “L” symbol comes on. Touch the Lock button for 4 seconds. Set the heat setting within 10 seconds. You can now operate the hob. When you deactivate the hob, the Child Safety Device operates again.

1. Deactivate the hob.

2. Touch the On/Off button for 3 seconds. The display comes on and goes out.

3. Touch the Lock button for 3 seconds. The symbol for sounds on or sounds off will appear.

4. Touch the plus (+) button of the timer to choose one of the following:

• b1 – the sounds are on

• b0 – the sounds are off

To confirm your selection, wait until the hob deactivates automatically.

If multiple zones are active and the consumed power exceeds the power supply limitation, this function divides the available power between all cooking zones connected to the same phase. The hob controls heat settings to protect the house installation fuses.

• If the hob reaches the maximum available power limit, the power of the cooking zones will be automatically reduced.

• The heat setting of the last selected cooking zone is always prioritized. The remaining power is divided among the previously activated zones in reverse order of selection.

• The heat setting display of the reduced zones will alternate between the initially selected setting and the reduced setting.

• You can either wait until the display stops flashing or manually reduce the heat setting of the last selected zone. The cooking zones will continue to operate with the reduced heat setting.

Hob²Hood is an advanced automatic function that connects the hob to a special hood. The fan speed is defined automatically based on the mode setting and the temperature of the hottest cookware on the hob. You can also operate the fan manually from the hob.

Operating the function automatically:

Set the automatic mode to H1 – H6 (the hob is originally set to H5). The hood reacts whenever you operate the hob, adjusting the fan speed automatically.

Changing the automatic mode:

1. Deactivate the hob.

2. Press the On/Off button for 3 seconds. The display comes on and goes off.

3. Press the Lock button for 3 seconds.

4. Press the Hob²Hood button a few times until “H” comes on.

5. Press the plus (+) button of the timer to select an automatic mode.

Operating the fan speed manually:

Press the Hob²Hood button when the hob is active. This deactivates automatic operation. When you press the up arrow you raise the fan speed by one. When you reach an intensive level and press the up arrow again, you will set the fan speed to 0, which deactivates the hood fan. To start the fan again with fan speed 1, press the Hob²Hood button.

For induction cooking zones, a strong electro-magnetic field creates heat very quickly in the cookware.

• Cookware Material:

• Correct: cast iron, steel, enamelled steel, stainless steel, multi-layer bottom (with a correct marking from the manufacturer).

• Not correct: aluminium, copper, brass, glass, ceramic, porcelain.

• Suitability Check: Cookware is suitable if water boils very quickly on a zone set to the highest heat setting, or if a magnet pulls on to the bottom of the cookware.

• Cookware Dimensions:

• Induction cooking zones adapt to the dimension of the cookware bottom automatically.

• The efficiency of a zone is related to the cookware diameter. For optimal heat transfer, use cookware with a bottom diameter similar to the zone size. Cookware with a smaller diameter receives only part of the power, resulting in slower heating.

• For safety and optimal results, do not use cookware larger than specified in the “Cooking zones specification”. Avoid keeping cookware close to the control panel during cooking.

The noises are normal and do not indicate any malfunction. Cookware noises may vary depending on the cookware material and the power level.

• Cookware-related noises:

• cracking noise: cookware is made of different materials (a sandwich construction).

• whistling sound: you use a cooking zone with a high power level and the cookware is made of different materials (a sandwich construction).

• humming: you use a high power level.

• Hob-related noises:

• clicking: electric switching occurs.

• hissing, buzzing: the fan operates.

• rhythmic sound: cookware is detected.

General Information

• Clean the hob after each use.

• Always use cookware with a clean base.

• For daily cleaning and removal of residual glue, use only a mildly abrasive cleaning milk and an anti-scratch, delicate sponge.

• Always use a scraper recommended for hobs with a glass surface as an additional tool.

Cleaning the glass surface of the hob

• Remove immediately: melted plastic, plastic foil, salt, sugar, and food with sugar to prevent damage. Use a special hob scraper at an acute angle on the glass surface. Be careful to avoid burns.

• Remove when the hob is sufficiently cool: limescale rings, water rings, fat stains, and shiny metallic discoloration. Clean with a mildly abrasive cleaning milk and an anti-scratch sponge. Wipe the hob dry with a microfibre cloth afterward.

• Persistent marks and stains: apply moderate pressure and scrub with an anti-scratch sponge and a mildly abrasive cleaning milk until the stains are no longer visible.

If you cannot activate or operate the hob, check the following:

• Possible cause: The hob is not connected to an electrical supply or is connected incorrectly.

• Remedy: Check if the hob is correctly connected to the electrical supply.

• Possible cause: The fuse is blown.

• Remedy: Make sure the fuse is the cause of the malfunction. If the fuse blows repeatedly, contact a qualified electrician.

• Possible cause: You did not set the heat setting within 10 seconds.

• Remedy: Activate the hob again and set the heat setting in less than 10 seconds.

• Possible cause: You touched 2 or more sensor fields at the same time.

• Remedy: Touch only one sensor field.

• Remedy: Refer to the “Pause” section instructions.

• Possible cause: There is water or fat stains on the control panel.

• Remedy: Clean the control panel.

This indicates that the electrical connection is incorrect. Disconnect the hob from the electrical supply and ask a qualified electrician to check the installation.

This happens when you put something on one or more sensor fields. Remove the object from the sensor fields to resolve the issue.

This could mean the zone is not hot because it only operated for a short time, or the sensor is damaged. If the zone operated long enough to be hot, you should contact an Authorised Service Centre.

• If you covered the control panel, remove the object from the control panel.

• If you are using a very tall pot that blocks the signal, use a smaller pot, change the cooking zone, or operate the hood manually.

• If the highest heat setting is already set, the function will not activate as it has the same power.

• If the zone is hot, let the zone become sufficiently cool before trying again.

The cookware may be too large or placed too close to the control panel. If possible, put large cookware on the rear zones.

• ‘L’ comes on: This means the Child Safety Device or Lock is operating. Refer to the “Daily use” section for instructions on how to deactivate it.

• ‘F’ comes on: This indicates there is no cookware on the zone, the cookware is unsuitable, or the diameter of the cookware bottom is too small for the zone. Put suitable cookware on the zone or use cookware with the correct dimensions.

This can happen if the cookware is too small, as it only receives a part of the power generated by the cooking zone. For optimal heat transfer, use cookware with a bottom diameter similar to the size of the cooking zone, as specified in the “Technical data” chapter.

This indicates an error in the hob. Deactivate the hob and activate it again after 30 seconds. If the symbol ‘E’ appears again, disconnect the hob from the electrical supply. After 30 seconds, connect the hob again. If the problem continues, contact an Authorised Service Centre.

The power of the cooking zones can vary slightly from the data in the table depending on the material and dimensions of the cookware.

You can save energy during everyday cooking by following these hints:

• When you heat up water, use only the amount you need.

• If it is possible, always put the lids on the cookware.

• Put the cookware directly in the centre of the cooking zone.

• Use the residual heat to keep the food warm or to melt it.
