When using your EIKI EK-121W projector, please adhere to the following safety precautions:

• **Grounding:** The projector must be properly grounded.

• **Moisture:** Do not expose the projector to rain or high humidity to avoid fire or electric shock.

• **Intense Light:** The projector produces intense light from the lens. Avoid staring directly into the lens to prevent eye damage. Be especially careful that children do not stare directly into the beam.

• **Ventilation:** Place the projector in a position that allows for proper ventilation. Leave at least 0.7 ft (20 cm) of space on the sides, 1.5 ft (50 cm) on top, and 3 ft (1 m) at the rear. Do not cover the vents.

• **Heat:** Hot air is exhausted from the exhaust vent. Do not put any flammable objects or spray cans near the projector. Keep the exhaust vent at least 1m away from any objects. Do not touch the peripheral parts of the exhaust vent, as this area becomes hot.

• **Environment:** Do not set the projector in greasy, wet, or smoky conditions, such as in a kitchen.

• **Power Cord:** Unplug the AC power cord if the projector will not be used for a long time. The mains plug is the disconnect device and should remain readily operable.

• **Static Images:** Do not project the same image for a long time, as a residual image may appear on the LCD panel.

• **Mercury:** This product contains mercury. Dispose of or recycle it in accordance with applicable laws.

For proper installation of your EIKI EK-121W, please follow these guidelines:

• **Surface:** Set the projector on a nearly-level surface. Improper installation can reduce lamp lifetime and create a fire hazard.

• **Orientation:**

– Do not roll the projector more than 10° from side to side.

– Do not pitch the projector more than 10° backward and forward.

– Do not point the projector up, down, or on its side to project an image.

• **Ceiling Installation:**

– Only qualified personnel are authorized for ceiling installation.

– Remove the ceiling bracket immediately when not in use.

– A torque screwdriver is suggested for installation; do not use an electric or impact-type screwdriver.

Front:

• ④ MENU: Opens or closes the on-screen menu.

• ⑤ POWER: Turns the projector on or off.

• ⑥ OK: Enters menu operations or executes a selected item.

• ⑦ INPUT: Selects an input source.

The terminals on the rear of the EIKI EK-121W projector serve the following functions:

• **MONO(R/L):** For connecting a mono audio signal.

Follow these steps to install the remote control batteries for your EIKI EK-121W:

1. Open the battery cover on the back of the remote.

2. Install two (2) new AAA or LR3 type alkaline batteries. Ensure the battery terminals are in contact with the pins in the compartment and that the polarity (+ and -) is correct.

3. Put the cover back on.

To ensure safe operation, please observe the following precautions:

• Always replace batteries in sets.

• Do not use a new battery with a used battery.

• Avoid contact with water or liquid.

• Do not expose the remote to moisture or heat.

• Dispose of used batteries according to local regulations.

Before connecting any cables, ensure the power cords of both the projector and your computer are unplugged from the AC outlet.

You can connect your computer to the EIKI EK-121W in the following ways:

• **Analog RGB (VGA):**

1. Connect one end of a VGA cable to the VGA output port on your computer.

2. Connect the other end of the VGA cable to the VGA IN terminal on the projector.

• **Digital (HDMI):**

1. Connect one end of an HDMI cable to the HDMI output port on your computer.

2. Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to either the HDMI1 or HDMI2 terminal on the projector.

• **To Monitor Out:** If you want to view your presentation on a computer monitor simultaneously, connect a VGA cable from the projector’s VGA OUT terminal to your monitor’s VGA input.

• **Audio:** To use the projector’s speaker, connect an audio cable from your computer’s audio out jack to the AUDIO IN jack on the projector.

Turning On the Projector:

1. Ensure all peripheral devices are connected and the AC power cord is plugged in. The POWER indicator will be red.

2. Press the POWER button on the top control panel or the remote control. The POWER indicator will turn green, and the cooling fans will start.

3. If a PIN code is required, an input box will appear. Use the arrow and OK buttons to enter the three-digit code, then select “Set” and press OK.

Turning Off the Projector:

1. Press the POWER button. A “Power off?” message will appear on the screen.

2. Press the POWER button again within 4 seconds. The POWER indicator will begin to flash red, and the cooling fans will continue to run to cool the lamp.

3. When the projector has cooled down sufficiently, the POWER indicator will stop flashing and turn solid red. It is now in standby mode, and you can safely unplug the AC power cord.

Note: To maintain lamp life, wait at least 5 minutes after turning the projector on before turning it off.

To adjust the image projected by your EIKI EK-121W, use the two rings on the lens assembly:

• **Zoom:** Rotate the ZOOM ring (the ring further back) to make the image larger or smaller.

• **Focus:** Rotate the FOCUS ring (the ring at the front) to make the image sharper.

If the projected image from your EIKI EK-121W has a trapezoidal shape (keystone distortion), you can correct it manually:

1. Press the **KEYSTONE** button on the remote control. The Keystone screen will be displayed.

2. The screen shows options including H/V Keystone, Corner correction, Curved correction (EK-121W only), and Reset value.

3. Use the ▲▼ buttons to select the type of correction you want to perform and press OK.

4. Use the ◀▶▲▼ buttons to adjust the image shape.

• For **H/V Keystone**, you can adjust the top, bottom, left, and right sides of the image to make it rectangular.

• For **Corner correction**, you can adjust each of the four corners of the image independently.

5. Pressing the KEYSTONE button again while the dialog box is displayed will cancel the adjustment.

To navigate and adjust settings in the on-screen menu of your EIKI EK-121W:

1. Press the **MENU** button on the remote control or the top control panel to display the screen menu.

2. Use the ▲▼ buttons to select a main menu category (e.g., Display, Color adjust, Setting), then press the **OK** button to enter the submenu.

3. Within the submenu, use the ▲▼ buttons to highlight the item you wish to adjust, then press **OK**.

4. Use the ◀▶ buttons to change the setting or adjust the value. Press **OK** to confirm your selection if required.

5. Press the ◀ button to go back to the previous menu. Press the **MENU** button again to exit the menu completely.

The Memory Viewer function allows you to project pictures stored on a USB memory device. Follow these steps:

1. Press the **INPUT** button on the remote control or top control panel and select “Memory Viewer” from the pop-up menu.

2. Insert your USB memory device into the **USB-A** terminal of the projector.

3. Press the **OK** button on the remote controller. The root directory of the USB memory will appear in a thumbnail view on the screen.

To Play Pictures Manually:

1. Use the arrow buttons (▲▼◀▶) to select a picture file.

2. Press the **OK** button. The picture will be displayed in full screen.

3. Press ▶ to switch to the next picture, or ◀ to return to the previous picture.

4. Press **OK** again to return to the thumbnail view.

To Execute a Slideshow:

1. Use the arrow buttons to select a file within the desired folder.

2. Press the **MENU** button, navigate to the “Memory Viewer” menu, and select “Set Slide”.

3. Press the **OK** button. The slideshow will begin, automatically playing all pictures in that folder.

The Memory Viewer function on your EIKI EK-121W supports the following image file formats:

If a Filter warning icon appears on the screen, or as part of regular maintenance, clean the air filter following these steps:

1. Turn off the projector and unplug the AC power cord from the outlet.

2. Locate and remove the air filter.

3. Gently clean the filter with a brush to remove dust and debris.

4. Reinstall the clean filter back into the projector properly.

Caution: Do not operate the projector with the air filter removed. Dust can accumulate on the optical elements and degrade picture quality.

After cleaning, you must reset the filter counter. Go to the on-screen menu, select **Expand -> Filter counter -> Filter counter reset**, and select “Yes” to confirm.

The indicators show the state of the projector. Check the following conditions:

• **WARNING indicator flashing red:** The internal temperature of the projector is too high. The projector shuts down automatically to protect itself. The POWER indicator will blink while it cools down. Check that ventilation slots are not blocked and that there is adequate space around the projector. Wait until the projector has cooled down completely before trying to turn it on again.

• **POWER indicator lights yellow:** The projector has detected an abnormal condition and shut down. Unplug the AC power cord, plug it back in, and try to turn the projector on again. If the projector cannot be turned on and the indicator remains yellow, unplug the power cord and contact a service center.

If there is no image:

• Check that the power cord is securely plugged in and the POWER indicator is red (standby).

• Check all cable connections between the source device and the projector.

• Make sure the correct input source is selected.

• Ensure the “Key lock” function is not active.

• Check if the lens cap has been removed.

• Make sure the BLANK function is not enabled (press the BLANK button on the remote).

• If using a laptop, you may need to press a function key (e.g., Fn + F5) to activate the external display output.

If the image is ambiguous or blurry:

• Adjust the focus using the focus ring on the lens.

• Ensure the projection distance is correct for your screen size.

• Check if the projector lens needs to be cleaned.

• If the projector was moved from a cold to a warm environment, condensation may have formed on the lens. Wait for the condensation to evaporate.

For No Sound issues:

• Check the audio cable connection from your input source.

• Press the VOLUME + button on the remote or projector.

• Press the MUTE button to ensure audio is not muted.

• If a cable is plugged into the AUDIO OUT jack, the projector’s internal speaker will be disabled.

• Sound is only produced when an image is being projected.

For Abnormal Color issues:

• Check the input signal, color system, and video system settings in the menu.

• In the “Color adjust” menu, ensure that an appropriate “Image Mode” is selected. For example, if “Blackboard” mode is selected, colors will be adjusted for a green surface.

• Adjust the Contrast and Brightness settings.

If the remote control for your EIKI EK-121W is not working, please check the following:

• **Batteries:** Check if the batteries are installed correctly and have sufficient charge. Replace them if necessary.

• **Obstruction:** Make sure there are no objects blocking the line of sight between the remote control and the projector’s front or rear infrared receivers.

• **Range:** You may be too far from the projector. The maximum operating range is approximately 5 meters (16.4 ft).

• **Key Lock:** Check if the remote control has been locked. You can unlock it in the on-screen menu under **Setting -> Key lock**.
