What safety precautions should be taken when performing maintenance on the EGO AB2102 replacement blade?

Always protect your hands by wearing heavy gloves or wrapping the cutting edges of the blade with rags or other materials when performing any maintenance on the mower blade. Always remove the battery pack when servicing or transporting the mower.


What tools are required to install the EGO AB2102 replacement blade?

The following tools are required (not included):

■ 9/16″ (14 mm) or adjustable wrench (impact wrench with 9/16″ socket is recommended)

■ 9/16″ (14 mm) torque wrench

■ Manual screwdriver or metal rod with a diameter of 1/4″ (6.35 mm)


How do I remove the old blade before installing the new EGO AB2102?

1. Stop the motor and remove the battery pack from the mower.

2. Turn the mower on its side.

3. While wearing protective gloves, place a manual screwdriver or metal rod with a diameter of 1/4″ (6.35 mm) or slightly less in the stabilizer hole. This will prevent the blade from rotating while loosening the bolt.

4. Use a 9/16″ (14 mm) wrench to turn the blade bolt counterclockwise to loosen and remove the bolt.

5. Remove the outer flange and the blade.

6. Leave the fan on the motor shaft.


What are the steps to install the new EGO AB2102 replacement blade?

NOTICE: To re-install or replace the blade, be sure to assemble the parts in the exact order in which they were removed.

1. Make sure the battery pack is disconnected from the mower and wear protective gloves.

2. If the fan was accidentally removed, reinstall it.

3. Position the blade on the shaft with the surface stating “THIS SIDE FACING GRASS” facing toward the outside.

4. Align the outer flange with the shaft and assemble it in place.

5. Mount the bolt into the shaft and turn it clockwise by hand to pre-tighten it.

6. Insert a manual screwdriver or metal rod, Ø 1/4″ (6.35 mm) or slightly less in the stabilizer hole. This will prevent the blade from rotating while tightening the bolt.

7. Use a 9/16″ (14 mm) torque wrench to tighten the bolt clockwise. The recommended torque for the blade bolt is 36-43 ft-lb (49-59 Nm).
