Jam at Folding PlatePress the (folding plate paper ejection) key to forcibly eject paper from the plate. If this doesn’t work, clear the jam manually:
• For Folding Plate 1: Take out plate 1 and remove the jam.
• For Folding Plate 2: Open the side cover, take out plate 2, and remove the jam. If needed, open the top cover and rotate the jam correction knob.
Jam in Ejecting SectionPress and hold the (paper ejection) key. Paper is forcibly ejected as long as the key is held down.
What should I do for common operational problems?
| Condition | Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Power is not turned on. | Power cord is not connected or power switch is off. | Connect the power cord. Turn on the power switch. |
| Machine does not start when the start key is pressed. | Paper is not stacked. | Stack paper on the paper feed tray. |
| Paper has jammed. | Remove jammed paper. | |
| Top cover and side cover are open. | Close the covers which are open. | |
| Non-standard paper settings are incorrect. | Change the settings to match non-standard paper. | |
| Paper feed guide is off the detection area. | Secure the paper feed guide correctly. | |
| [D-Feed Detect] is on but test folding was not performed. | Perform test folding. | |
| Paper is not folded at the normal folding position. | Folding plates 1 and 2 are not set properly. / Static electricity. | Set the folding plates properly. / Use a static removal spray and separate paper well. |
| Double-feed of paper has occurred. | Paper feed pressure is too high. / Separating pressure is too low. / Paper is sticking. | Decrease the paper feed pressure. Increase the separating pressure. Check that ink is dry and there is no static, then separate paper well. |
| Mis-feed of paper has occurred. | Paper feed pressure is too low. / Separating pressure is too high. / Paper is sticking. | Increase the paper feed pressure. Decrease the separating pressure. Check that ink is dry and there is no static, then separate paper well. |
| Folding misalignment (vertical length). | Processing speed was changed midway through operation. | Adjust the folding stopper positions of folding plates 1 and 2. |
| Folding misalignment (sides of paper). | Paper feed guides are not set properly. / Fixing screws are loose. / Paper is not cut properly. | Set the paper feed guides properly. Tighten the fixing screws. Correct the misalignment using the skew correction knob. |
| Continuous-feeding occurs with small paper. | Paper out of specifications. / Feed pressure too high or separating pressure too low. | Do not use paper outside specifications. Decrease feed pressure or increase separating pressure. |
| Single-folded thick paper jams at folding rollers. | Paper out of specifications. / Feed pressure too high. / Processing speed too slow. | Do not use paper outside specifications. Decrease feed pressure. Increase processing speed. |
