What are the warnings regarding electrocution hazards for general safety?
Failure to obey these warnings could result in death or serious injury.
Installation and removal of the battery charger may only be carried out by qualified personnel.
Do not operate the device if it is visibly damaged.
If this device’s power cable is damaged, the power cable must be replaced by the manufacturer, a service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to prevent safety hazards.
This device may only be repaired by qualified personnel. Improper repairs can lead to considerable hazards.
If you disassemble the device: Detach all connections. Ensure that no voltage is present on any of the inputs and outputs.
Do not use the device in wet conditions or submerge in any liquid. Store in a dry place.

What should I be aware of to prevent damage hazard before start-up?

What is the danger if I mount the device in areas with gas or dust explosion risk?

Ensure that the device is standing firmly. The device must be set up and fastened in such a way that it cannot tip over or fall down.

The solar charger is intended to monitor and charge starting batteries and house batteries in recreational vehicles from up to two solar panels.
What battery types is the charger intended to charge?

What types of batteries is the charger NOT intended to charge?
The charger is not intended to charge other types of batteries (e. g. NiCd, NiMH, etc.).
What is the charger suitable for?

What is the charger NOT suitable for?
Mains operation

What does the manufacturer not accept liability for?
Incorrect assembly or connection, including excess voltage.
Incorrect maintenance or use of spare parts other than original spare parts provided by the manufacturer.

Use for purposes other than those described in this manual.
What should I observe when selecting an installation location?
Ensure that the mounting surface is solid and level.
Choose a well ventilated installation location to avoid overheating.
Observe a distance of 10 cm to the ventilation openings of the cooling fan.
Choose a suitable installation location to connect the power cables to the battery.
What should I do before drilling any holes for mounting the charger?
NOTICE! Damage hazard. Before drilling any holes, ensure that no electrical cables or other parts of the vehicle can be damaged by drilling, sawing and filing.
How do I mount the charger?
1. Ensure that the vehicle’s engine and the battery chargers are switched off.
2. Screw the charger to the mounting surface. (referencing fig. 1 on page 1)
What is the warning regarding electrocution hazard when connecting the charger?
WARNING! Electrocution hazard. Observe the recommended cable cross sections, cable lengths and fuse.
What is the caution regarding fire hazard when connecting the charger?
CAUTION! Fire hazard. Place the fuses near the batteries to protect the cable from short circuits and possible burning.
What is the notice regarding damage hazard when connecting the charger?
NOTICE! Damage hazard. Do not reverse the polarity.
What instructions should be observed when connecting the charger?
Use suitable measuring instruments:
Multimeter with DC voltage measurement, 200 V or autoscale
Amperometric clamp with direct measurement (100 A scale or higher)
Use cables with a cross section of 6 mm.
Always connect the charger before connecting the batteries.
Do not use ferrules. Strip the cable ends as follows:
Signal cable: 12 mm (0.5 mm² … 1.5 mm²)
Charging cable: 15 mm
Make the required connections to the charger.
How does the charger operate with two batteries?
The charger charges up to two batteries: One house battery (B1) and one starting battery (B2), with priority charging to the house battery.
Under what conditions does the charger start charging the batteries?
The connected solar panels deliver a voltage of 1 V higher than the voltage of the batteries to be charged.
The battery voltage is higher than 8 V.
How is the house battery charged?
The house battery will be charged with the selected curve.
Under what conditions will the starting battery be charged?
The house battery is charged between 80 % and 100 %.
The starting battery has a voltage of less than 12.5 V.
How does the charger maintain the battery charge?
Every charging phase has a maximum run time with exception of the maintenance phase which constantly monitors the state of charge (SoC) and, if necessary, delivers an impulse current to keep the battery 100 % charged.
How should I dispose of recycling packaging material?
Place the packaging material in the appropriate recycling waste bins wherever possible.
How should I dispose of products with non-replaceable batteries, rechargeable batteries or light sources?
If the product contains any non-replaceable batteries, rechargeable batteries or light sources, you don’t have to remove them before disposal.
If you wish to finally dispose of the product, ask your local recycling center or specialist dealer for details about how to do this in accordance with the applicable disposal regulations.
The product can be disposed free of charge.
What should I do if the product is defective under warranty?
The statutory warranty period applies. If the product is defective, please contact the manufacturer’s branch in your country (see dometic.com/dealer) or your retailer.
What documents should I include when sending the device for repair or warranty processing?

A reason for the claim or description of the fault.
What is the note regarding self-repair?
