The box for the Dell UltraSharp monitor (UP3218K/UP3218KA) contains the following items:

A Dell UltraSharp monitor.

A power cable.

Documentation, including a Quick Start Guide.

A cleaning cloth.

A DisplayPort cable.

A USB upstream cable.

A monitor stand.

A monitor base.

To unbox the monitor, first open the top of the box. Carefully pull out the accessory box which contains the cables and documentation. Next, remove the foam packaging. Finally, carefully lift the monitor from the box.

To attach the stand:

Step 1: Place the monitor stand on a flat surface. Align the base with the bottom of the stand and push it in until it clicks securely into place.

Step 2: Align the assembled stand with the mounting slot on the back of the monitor. Push the stand into the monitor’s slot until it clicks firmly into place.

To detach the stand, locate and press the release button on the back of the monitor, near where the stand attaches. While holding the button, pull the stand upwards to remove it from the monitor.

To adjust the height of the monitor, gently push or pull the monitor vertically to move it up or down to your desired viewing level.

To adjust the tilt, grasp the top and bottom edges of the monitor and gently tilt it forward or backward. The monitor can be tilted 5 degrees forward and 21 degrees backward.

To rotate or pivot the monitor, hold the sides of the display and turn it 90 degrees to switch between landscape and portrait orientation.

To connect the monitor for 8K4K resolution at 60Hz, use two DisplayPort 1.4 cables. Connect both cables from your PC’s graphics card to the DP1 and DP2 inputs on the monitor. Ensure your PC’s graphics card supports DisplayPort 1.4.

To connect the monitor for 8K4K resolution at 30Hz from a desktop PC, use one DisplayPort 1.4 cable. Connect the cable from your PC’s graphics card to either the DP1 or DP2 input on the monitor. Using DisplayPort 1.2 or older cables is not recommended for 8K4K resolution.

To connect the monitor for 8K4K resolution at 30Hz from a laptop, use one DisplayPort 1.4 cable. Connect the cable from your laptop’s DisplayPort output to either the DP1 or DP2 input on the monitor. Using DisplayPort 1.2 or older cables is not recommended for 8K4K resolution.

To connect power to the monitor, plug one end of the power cable into the power port on the back of the monitor, then plug the other end into a power outlet.

To connect the USB upstream cable, plug the square end of the USB cable into the USB upstream port on the back of the monitor. Then, plug the rectangular end of the USB cable into a USB port on your computer.
