Please carefully read the following safety precautions to avoid personal injuries and prevent the equipment from being damaged:

1. Power supply: Never operate the equipment with any power supply other than the one supplied in the box.

2. Never push objects of any kind through the openings of the NVR: This is to avoid electric shock or damage to your NVR.

3. Do not place the NVR in a dusty environment: Dust could affect the connections and damage the electronics.

4. Do not place the NVR in a wet or humid environment: Do not position the NVR in a location that is likely to get wet or humid such as outdoors or in a basement. If the NVR comes into contact with water, unplug the power cable immediately and contact your local dealer.

5. Keep the surface of the equipment clean and dry: Use a soft slightly damp cloth to clean the outer case of NVR and make sure it is dried straight away (do not use liquid aerosol cleaners).

6. Do not operate if you notice any unusual problems: If you notice any strange smells, sounds or smoke coming from your NVR, unplug the power cable immediately and contact an authorised dealer or service centre.

7. Do not try to remove the upper cover: Warning: Do not remove the cover of your NVR to avoid electric shock or damage to the electronics.

8. Handle with care: If your NVR does not work normally after dropping it or being hit by a hard object, disconnect the power immediately and contact an authorised dealer or service centre.

9. Position the equipment in a place with good ventilation: The NVR system includes a HDD, which can produce a significant amount of heat. Do not block the ventilation openings. Make sure your NVR is kept in a well-ventilated area and that the cables are kept tidy and do not obstruct air flow.

10. The included power supply is for one NVR system only: Do not connect more equipment to the power supply, as it will not have enough power to operate correctly.

11. Do not place objects containing water near the equipment: Such as a flower vase, on or near the equipment.

WARNING – KEEP BUTTON BATTERIES OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN

• If swallowed, a lithium button battery may lead to serious or fatal injury in as little as 2 hours, due to chemical burns and potential perforation of the oesophagus.

• All button batteries must be kept away from children regardless if they are new or used.

• If you suspect your child has swallowed or inserted a button battery, immediately call the 24-hour Poisons Information Centre for fast, expert advice.

• If your child is having difficulty breathing, contact emergency services.

• Dispose of used button batteries immediately and safely out of the reach of children. A battery can still be dangerous even when it can no longer operate the device.

• As soon as you have finished using a button battery, put sticky tape around both sides of it. This will make it harder for children to swallow the button battery and avoid the risk of the battery catching fire.

• Immediately dispose of button batteries out of reach of children, or recycle using a child-resistant container and take used cells to your local battery collection centre.

A USB Mouse is supplied to navigate the on-screen menus. Plug the mouse into an available USB port on the front or back of the NVR.

1. Left Button:

• Click to select menu options.

• During live viewing in split-screen view, double-click on a channel to view it in full-screen. Double-click the channel again to return to split-screen viewing.

• Click on a channel on Live Viewing screen to open Camera Quick Toolbar.

• Click and hold to drag sliders and scales on menu mode.

2. Right Button:

• Click once to open the Taskbar on the Live Viewing screen.

• In menus, click to go back / close menus.

3. Scroll Wheel:

• In menus, scroll to move up / down through the menu content.

• While hovering over the volume control wheel, scroll to turn system volume up / down.

A virtual keyboard will automatically appear on the screen when you need to enter data. Use the mouse to operate this keyboard.

• Toggle Case/Punctuation: Click the shift/symbol key to toggle the keyboard to upper case and more punctuation.

• Delete Character: Click the backspace key (←) to delete a character.

• Move Cursor: Use the left and right arrow keys to move the cursor.

• Complete Entry: Click the enter key to complete the entry.

The first time you run the NVR, you will be asked to set your own password, which is important to help protect your privacy. You can also change the Admin username for extra security.

1. Language: Choose your preferred language to be shown on-screen.

2. Device ID: Input the device ID shown in the parentheses. The default ID is 000000.

3. New Admin name: To set your own administrator name.

4. New Admin Password: To set your own password. The password must be a combination of 8 characters.

5. Confirm Password: Enter your own password again.

6. Click Apply to confirm your settings. You will then be taken to the login interface. Enter your new user name & password to Login.

NOTE: If you forget your password, you will be unable to login to the system. You will need to contact Concord to reset the password if you are locked out.

If you have connected your NVR to your network, the NVR will need to identify itself on the network with an IP address. In most cases, you will be able to simply tick the DHCP box so your network router automatically assigns the IP Address.

If your network requires you to manually assign an IP address, you will need to configure the following:

• IP Address: Identifies the NVR on the network. It consists of four groups of numbers between 0 to 255, separated by periods (e.g., “192.168.001.100”).

• Subnet Mask: Defines a range of IP addresses that can be used in a network. It also consists of four groups of numbers (e.g., “255.255.000.000”).

• Gateway: Allows the NVR to access the Internet. The format is the same as the IP Address (e.g., “192.168.001.001”).

• DNS1/DNS2: DNS1 is the primary DNS server and DNS2 is a backup. You will need to consult your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for these details.

• Ports (Web, Client, RTSP): These are ports used for remote access. If the default ports are already in use by other applications, you will need to change them.

• UPNP: Enable this option if your router supports UPnP for easier remote access setup. If not, you must configure port forwarding manually in your router.

Date and Time (Manual Setup)

• Date: Click on the calendar icon to set the system date.

• Time: Click to set the system time.

• Date Format: Choose from the dropdown menu to set preferred date format.

• Time Format: Choose time format between 24Hour and 12Hour.

• Time Zone: Set the correct time zone.

NTP (Network Time Protocol)

This feature allows you to synchronize the date and time automatically over the Internet. The NVR must be connected to the Internet for this to work.

1. Check the “Enable NTP” box.

2. Select an NTP server from the list (e.g., pool.ntp.org).

3. Click “Update Now” to sync immediately.

DST (Daylight Savings Time)

• DST: Enable if Daylight Saving Time (DST) is observed in your region.

• Time Offset: Select the amount of time to offset for DST.

• Time Mode: Choose to set the daylight saving time in weeks or in days.

• Start Time/End Time: Set the start time and end time for daylight saving.

Your CONCORD CNK8244WPB-A is supplied with a hard drive already installed. You can manage its settings in the Hard Drive menu.

Overwrite: This option allows the NVR to overwrite the oldest recordings on the HDD when the HDD is full. For example, if you choose the option “7 days,” then only the last 7 days of recordings are kept on the HDD. To prevent overwriting any old recordings, select “Disable.” If you have disabled this function, please check the HDD status regularly to make sure the HDD is not full.

Format HDD: If you install a new hard drive, you will need to format it before use.

You can access your NVR remotely from a Smartphone or Tablet if the NVR is connected to the network with Internet access. The P2P (Peer to peer) ID makes it easy to connect a smart device.

During the Startup Wizard, you will reach a “Mobile” screen. This screen displays your P2P ID and a QR code. Once you have the mobile app installed on your Smartphone or Tablet, you can scan this QR code and follow the instructions in the app to complete the setup.

• Smart alarm was triggered: Indicates a smart alarm event.

• Wireless NVR is current recording: A red dot indicates the NVR is recording.

• Camera has detected PIR: An icon showing a person with waves indicates PIR detection.

• Camera has detected motion: An icon showing a running person indicates motion detection.

• HDD Error: An icon of a hard drive with an exclamation mark indicates a hard drive error.

• HDD is unformatted: An icon of a hard drive with a question mark indicates the drive needs formatting.

• HDD is full: An icon of a hard drive with an exclamation mark inside a circle indicates the drive is full.

• Hard disk not found: An icon of a hard drive with a cross indicates no hard drive is detected.

• Hard disk is read only: An icon of a hard drive with a pencil crossed out indicates the drive is in read-only mode.

In live viewing, click the left button of your mouse on a connected camera to display the Camera Quick Toolbar. The functions are:

• Manual Record: Click to manually record the channel. The icon turns red during recording. Click again to stop.

• Snapshot: Click to save a snapshot of the current camera image.

• Instant Playback: Click to play the latest 5 minutes of recording for this channel.

• Digital Zoom: Click to zoom in on the channel. Press and hold the left mouse button to drag the area you want to zoom in.

• Color Adjustment: Click to adjust the HUE, BRIGHT, CONTRAST & SATURATION of the image.

• HD/SD Stream: Click to switch the live view video stream between HD (mainstream) and SD (substream).

• White Light: Click to turn on the camera’s white light.

• Speaker: Click to turn on the speaker.

• Pairing: Click to enter pairing mode.

• Tag: Click to add a tag.

• AI Statistics: When the AI function is enabled, hover over the icon to view AI statistics.

The Taskbar appears at the bottom of the Live Viewing screen. Its functions are:

• Start Menu: Click to open the Start Menu.

• Layouts: Click to choose different layouts for live view (e.g., 4-channel split, single channel).

• More Layouts: Click to choose more layouts for live view.

• Quick Playback: You can choose to play the latest recording for all channels from the beginning of the day, or you can choose playback from the last 5s, 10s, 30s, 1Min, or 5Min.

With the start menu, you can perform the following actions:

• admin: To switch user. To enable multi-user, please view on 5.6.3 Multi-User.

• Search: To access Search & Playback functions.

• Setup: To enter the NVR System Setup menu.

• Lock Screen: To lock the screen to protect against unauthorised OSD operation. The screen also locks automatically after 1 minute of inactivity. Click the Unlock icon to unlock.

• Shutdown: To Shutdown, Reboot, or Logout from the system.

Go to Start Menu > Setup > Alarm. Here you can configure motion or PIR detection alarm functions for each channel.

• Channel: Displays the channel number.

• Buzzer: The NVR can use its internal buzzer to emit an alarm tone. You can set the buzzer duration in seconds.

• Record: Click the icon to choose which channel(s) you want to record when the motion detection is triggered.

• Post Recording: Set how long (up to 5 minutes, 30 seconds recommended) the NVR will continue to record after an event occurs.

• Show Message: Check the box to display an icon on the live view screen when motion is detected.

• Send Email: Enable this to have the NVR send you an auto-email when motion is detected.

• Full Screen: If enabled, when motion is detected in a channel, that channel will be displayed in full screen.

• FTP Upload: To upload alarm images to an FTP server when motion is detected.

The Video Cover menu allows you to create privacy zones to partially cover certain parts of the image. The area you set will be invisible in both live view and recorded video.

1. Go to Start Menu > Setup > Channel > Video Cover.

2. Select the Channel you want to configure.

3. Check “Enable Privacy Zone”.

4. Click and drag on the camera image grid to create up to four privacy zones in any size and location. The zones will appear as “red boxes”.

5. Click “Apply” to save.

The Record Schedule menu allows you to specify when the NVR records video and define the recording mode for each channel on a daily and hourly basis.

1. Go to Start Menu > Setup > Record > Record Schedule.

2. Select the Channel you want to set.

3. Click on the mode radio button you want to set (e.g., Normal, Motion).

4. Drag the cursor across the hourly slots for each day to mark them for that recording type.

• Normal (Green): The channel performs normal (continuous) recording during this time slot.

• Motion (Yellow): The channel records only when motion is detected during this time slot. (Motion detection must be enabled in the Alarm menu for this to work).

• No Record (Black): No recording is scheduled for this time slot.

5. If you want to use the same schedule for other channels, use the “Copy To” function.

6. Click “Apply” to save the schedule.

You can configure the NVR to send system notifications to your email when an alarm is triggered, the HDD becomes full, is in an error state, or Video Loss occurs.

1. Go to Start Menu > Setup > Network > Email.

2. On the Email Configuration tab, check the “Email” box to enable.

3. Encryption: Enable if your email server requires SSL or TLS verification. If unsure, set to Auto.

4. SMTP Port: Enter the SMTP port of your email server.

5. SMTP Server: Enter the SMTP server address of your email.

6. User Name: Enter your email address.

7. Password: Enter the password of your email.

8. Receiver 1~3: Enter the email address(es) where you want to receive the notifications.

9. Interval: Configure the length of time between notification emails.

10. Click Test Email. The system will send an automated email to your inbox. If you receive it, the configuration is correct.

11. Go to the Email Schedule tab to configure the schedule for when email notifications should be sent for Motion, Exception (HDD full/error, Video Loss), and PIR detection events.

The system supports two account types: ADMIN (full control) and USER (limited access). You can set up multiple user accounts with varying levels of access.

To Add a New User:

1. Go to Start Menu > Setup > System > Multi-User.

2. Select one of the user accounts that is currently disabled and click the User Edit icon.

3. Select “Enable” from the drop-down next to User Enable.

4. Click the field next to User Name to change the user name for the account.

5. Select “Enable” from the drop-down next to Password Enable.

6. Click the field next to Password to enter the desired password, then re-enter it in the Confirm field.

7. Click Save. You will be required to input your Admin password to authenticate.

To Set User Permissions:

1. In the Multi-User menu, click the edit icon under the Permission tab for the desired user.

2. In the User Permission window, check the boxes next to any system menus or capabilities you would like the user to access (e.g., Log Search, Playback, Manual Record).

3. Click “All” to check all boxes or “Clear” to check none.

4. Click Save to save your modifications.

The system log shows important system events, such as motion alarms and system warnings.

1. Go to Start Menu > Setup > Maintenance > Log.

2. Click the field next to Start Date & Start Time to choose the starting date & time for your search.

3. Click the field next to End Date & End Time to choose the end date & time for your search.

4. Select the type of events you would like to search for from the dropdown next to Log Type, or select All.

5. Click Search.

6. Browse the system log events. Video events can be played back instantly by clicking in the Playback column.

7. To create a backup, click Backup. Ensure a USB flash drive is connected to the NVR’s USB port.

8. The backup drive menu appears. Navigate to the folder where you want the backup file to be saved, then click OK to begin.

1. Copy the firmware file (.sw file) to your USB drive.

2. Insert the USB flash drive into the NVR USB port.

3. Go to Start Menu > Setup > Maintenance > Upgrade.

4. Click the Select File button to choose the firmware file in your USB flash drive, then Click OK.

5. Click the Upgrade button to start the system upgrade. The upgrade will last around 5-10 minutes. Do NOT power off the NVR or remove the USB drive during the firmware upgrade.

1. Click the Search button from the Start Menu.

2. On the General tab, select a date to search for video recording from the calendar.

3. Choose a Search Type (e.g., Normal, Motion, PIR).

4. Check the channels you would like to search, or check the master Channel box to search all connected channels.

5. The search result will display on the timeline at the bottom of the screen. Different recording types are shown in different colours (e.g., Green for continuous, Yellow for motion).

6. Click the Play button to start playback.

7. Use the Video Playback Controls to manage the playback (e.g., pause, fast forward, rewind).

8. Use the timeframe options (24h, 2h, 1h, 30m) to view a smaller or larger time period on the timeline.

1. Insert your USB flash drive into the Wireless NVR.

2. Start a video recording playback from the Search menu.

3. Click the Video Clip (scissors) icon in the playback controls.

4. Check the channel(s) you want to make a video clip backup from.

5. Move the mouse cursor to the timeline where you want to start the video clip.

6. Press and hold the left button of your mouse, and drag the cursor to the timeline where you want to end the video clip. A selection will be highlighted.

7. The scissors icon will change to a save icon. Click it to save the video clip.

8. In the “Backup Type” window, select a file type (RF, AVI, or mp4) and click Save.

9. The backup drive menu will appear. Navigate to the folder you want the file saved in and click OK to begin the backup.

1. Search for Concord Security in the app store for your Android or iOS device, and install it.

2. Run the app. It will display the Device Manager screen.

3. Touch the + to add a device. The app will open the camera to scan a QR code.

4. Scan the QR code located on your NVR or the QR code displayed during the setup wizard.

5. The P2P ID (IP Address/ID) will be entered automatically.

6. Enter the User Name and Password for your NVR.

7. Touch Save. The app will turn to the Live view display if the device has connected successfully.

Check if the power supply system is properly connected and the data cord and power cables are securely connected. Check if there is something wrong with the HDD interface. You may also check if your HDD is supported by referring to the specifications or descriptions.

If you forget the system password, please consult with our technical personnel. We strongly suggest users set a password that is easy to remember and relatively safe. If you have a safety requirement, please do not set a very simple password, such as 000000.

Check the network cable at the Wireless NVR side to see if the cable is firmly connected and if it is worn out and needs to be replaced. Also, check if NTSC or PAL is selected consistently in the settings.

The Wireless NVR needs to dissipate heat while it is running. Please place the Wireless NVR in a place with good air circulation and away from heat sources to ensure stability and life of the Wireless NVR.

All HDDs supported by the system can be used. But remember, once the Wireless NVR runs with the new HDD, the data on your HDD will be lost as it will be formatted.

Yes. The system supports the function of playing back while recording.

In consideration of file security, you may not clear part of the records. If you want to remove all the records, you can format the HDD.

Please check if the data line connection for the HDD is OK and if the system time is properly adjusted. Try a few times and restart. If it still doesn’t work, check if the HDD is broken.

Please check if the motion detection time and motion detection regional settings are correct and if the sensitivity is set too low.

Please check if the alarm setting, alarm connection, and alarm input signals are correct.

Please check the alarm setting, check if the motion detection function is enabled and if object motion is detected all the time. Also, refer to the corresponding HDD alarm setting (e.g., Disk Full).

Pressing Stop or Stop Recording can only stop a manual recording. If you want to stop a scheduled recording in a certain time period, you must change the setting in the Record Schedule to “No Record”. To stop a startup recording, you must change the record mode to scheduled or manual recording. Another way of stopping recording is to set the channel as off in the record setting.

1. To shut down the Wireless NVR, please shut down the system first before turning off the power. Do not turn off the power directly or HDD data will be lost or damaged.

2. Please keep the Wireless NVR away from heat sources or dusty environments.

3. Clean the internal dust regularly. Make sure there is good ventilation to ensure adequate heat dissipation.

4. Please inspect all cables regularly to ensure they are not aging or damaged.

5. Please prevent the audio and video signals of the Wireless NVR from being intervened by other electronic devices, and prevent the HDD from being damaged by static electricity and induced voltage. If the network cable is frequently plugged, it is suggested to replace the connecting line regularly, or the input signal may be unstable.
