What should I do before using the oven for the first time?

The metal casing has a preservative coating that should be removed during installation using a non-abrasive stainless steel cleaner (follow cleaner instructions). Before first use, clean both oven cavities with soapy water, rinse carefully. Then, heat the ovens on the specified programmes at maximum temperature:

Top oven: 15 minutes full grill

Top oven: 60 minutes conventional

Lower oven: 60 minutes fan oven

A slightly unpleasant smell may occur initially due to residual grease from production.

What is the cooling fan and how does it work?

This oven has a cooling fan to achieve maximum efficiency and maintain low surface temperatures. The fan switches on automatically when the oven is switched on and continues to run for a while after the oven is switched off. The duration can vary and may be longer with poor ventilation.

How do I set the cooking function?

Turn the cooking function knob for the required oven clockwise to the required function symbol. Each function uses different elements.

What are the cooking functions available?

Conventional oven: Uses top and bottom elements (50°C – 250°C). Creates a perfect cooking zone in the centre, ideal for dark fruit cakes and pastries.

Warming oven: Uses bottom element only (50°C – 250°C). Perfect for dough proving and blind-baking.

Grill: Radiates heat from the grill and top elements. Fully temperature variable (50°C – 250°C), ideal for grilling full family meals.

Oven Lamp: Switches on the oven light. The light operates during all cooking functions.

Defrost: Uses the fan only to circulate air, speeding up natural defrosting (e.g., 1kg takes approx. one hour).

Fan Oven: Uses the circular element and fan (50°C – 250°C). Blows air into and around the cavity. Achieves temperatures quicker, reducing or eliminating preheating. Cooking times and temperatures can be reduced for energy efficiency. Perfect for cooking various food types simultaneously, as foods seal quickly, preventing flavour transfer.

What should I note when grilling?

Always grill with the oven door closed.

Put the grill pan as close to the grill as possible.

Do not grill for more than 30 minutes at a time.

Preheat the grill for approximately five minutes with the oven door closed.

How do I set the temperature?

Turn the temperature knob for the required oven clockwise to the desired temperature. The temperature indicator lamp on the control panel will light up when the oven elements are working and switch off when the oven reaches the set temperature.

How do I set the clock?

The clock is preset to 12:00 and reverts to this after a power failure. When the current time indicator (symbol looks like a clock face) is flashing, touch the ‘+’ or ‘-‘ key to set the correct time. The clock will set after approximately five seconds’ delay. To change the clock later, touch the ‘M’ (Mode) key repeatedly until the current time indicator flashes, then use ‘+’ or ‘-‘ to adjust. It will set after five seconds.

How do I use the minute minder?

The minute minder can be used when the oven is on or off, for up to 23 hours and 59 minutes.

1. Touch the ‘M’ key repeatedly until the minute minder indicator (symbol looks like a bell) flashes.

2. Touch ‘+’ or ‘-‘ to select the required duration.

3. Either touch ‘M’ again or wait for approximately five seconds. The minute minder indicator will remain lit.

4. When the countdown is complete, an alert beep sounds for two minutes, and the indicator flashes. Touch any key to switch off the beep.

Please note: The minute minder does not switch off the oven. Remember to turn off the oven manually.

How do I set a semi-automatic cooking programme (duration)?

This allows the main oven to switch off automatically after a set time (up to 10 hours).

1. Select the oven function and temperature (the oven switches on).

2. Touch the ‘M’ key until the cooking time indicator (symbol looks like ‘dur’) flashes.

3. Touch ‘+’ or ‘-‘ to set the required cooking duration.

4. Wait for approximately five seconds. The cooking time indicator remains lit.

5. When the cooking time is complete, an alert beep sounds for two minutes, and the indicator flashes. Touch any key to switch off the beep.

Please note: Remember to turn off the oven function knob manually afterwards.

How do I set an automatic cooking programme (duration and end time)?

This allows the main oven to switch on and off automatically (cooking duration up to 10 hours).

1. Follow steps 1-4 for setting the semi-automatic cooking programme (duration).

2. Touch the ‘M’ key until the end of cooking time indicator (symbol looks like ‘end’) flashes.

3. Touch ‘+’ or ‘-‘ to select the required end time.

4. Wait for approximately five seconds. The cooking time and end of cooking time indicators remain lit.

5. The oven will switch off and wait until the calculated start time. When the programme starts, the cooking time indicator will switch off.

6. When cooking is complete, an alert beep sounds for two minutes, and the end of cooking time indicator flashes. Touch any key to switch off the beep.

Please note: Remember to turn off the oven function knob manually afterwards.

How should I clean the oven exterior?

For stainless steel or enamel surfaces, use a non-abrasive cleaner. Abrasive cleaners (including Cif) will scratch the surface and could erase control panel markings. Clean stainless steel effectively with a dilute solution of water and mild detergent, then dry with a clean cloth for shine. Proprietary stainless steel cleaners are available; the CDA E-Cloth is recommended.

How should I clean the inside of the oven?

Always clean the oven after use once it has cooled down. Clean the cavity using a mild detergent solution and warm water. Suitable proprietary chemical cleaners may be used after consulting manufacturer recommendations and testing on a small area first. Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or scouring pads/cloths on the cavity surface. IMPORTANT: Steam cleaners must not be used. Ensure all parts are correctly replaced before using the oven after cleaning.

How do I change the oven lamp?

1. Ensure the appliance is disconnected from the power supply.

2. If the oven has been used, let the cavity and heating elements cool down.

3. Unscrew the protective glass cover (wash and dry it). IMPORTANT: Never use screwdrivers or other utensils to remove the light cover; remove only by hand.

4. Carefully remove the old bulb.

5. Insert a new bulb suitable for high temperatures (300°C) with specifications: 230-240V, 50Hz, 25W, G9 fitting. IMPORTANT: Never replace the bulb with bare hands; use a clean cloth or gloves to avoid contamination causing premature failure.

6. Refit the protective cover.

Please note: Bulb replacement is not covered by your guarantee.

How do I remove the oven door for cleaning?

1. Open the door to the full extent.

2. Completely open the lever ‘A’ on both the left and right hinges.

3. Hold the door firmly.

4. Gently close the door until the hinge levers ‘A’ hook onto part ‘B’ of the door.

5. Withdraw the hinge hooks from their location by pulling the door upwards (following arrow ‘C’).

6. Rest the door on a soft surface.

To replace the door, repeat these steps in reverse order.

How should the oven be connected to the mains electricity?

Warning! This appliance must be earthed.

Connection should be done by a qualified electrician complying with I.E.T. and local regulations. N.I.C.E.I.C. membership is recommended.

This appliance is intended for fixed wiring connection, not via a 13A plug or supply.

Connect via a double pole switch with at least 3mm contact separation in all poles, positioned no further than 2m from the appliance.

Access the connector block at the rear by releasing the two locks on the cover.

For UK standard mains supply: Connect bridging links between terminals 1-2-3 for the live (Brown) feed and terminals 4-5 for the neutral (Blue) feed. Connect the Earth (Green and Yellow) wire to the terminal marked ‘E’ or with the earth symbol.

Feed the mains lead through the cable clamp and tighten securely to prevent accidental disconnection.

Close the connector cover.

What type of mains cable is required?

The mains cable must only be replaced by a qualified electrician or service engineer.

It must be of equivalent or better rating, specifically 2.5mm² cross-section area, type H05RR-F.

A larger cable will not fit the terminal connections.

What are the installation requirements?

Important: Failure to allow adequate ventilation may result in overheating or damage and could invalidate the warranty.

This is a type X installation. Adjacent kitchen unit walls must withstand temperatures of 75°C above ambient (typically 90°C to 100°C).

Ensure a minimum gap of 4mm between the sides of the oven and adjacent furniture doors when installed.

Lift the oven carefully (NOT by door handles) into the housing shelf.

Secure the oven to the housing by fitting screws into the 4 screw holes (2 on each side, visible when the door is open). The housing must be secured to the wall and/or adjacent fittings, not free-standing.

Seek help from another individual when installing.
