The following symbols and conventions are used throughout the User’s Guide for your BROTHER MFC-L2750DWXL:

Press your finger on the LCD to operate it. To display and access all the options, press the left or right arrows, or the up or down arrows on the LCD to scroll through them.

The following steps explain how to navigate through changing a machine setting. In this example, the LCD Backlight setting is changed from [Light] to [Med].

IMPORTANT: DO NOT press the LCD with a sharp object such as a pen or stylus. It may damage the machine.

NOTE: DO NOT touch the LCD immediately after plugging in the power cord or turning on the machine. Doing this may cause an error.

1. Press [Settings].

2. Press [All Settings].

3. Press the up or down arrow to display the [General Setup] option, and then press [General Setup].

4. Press the up or down arrow to display the [LCD Settings] option, and then press [LCD Settings].

5. Press [Backlight].

6. Press [Med].

7. Press the Home button.

Follow these steps to load paper into the paper tray:

1. Pull the paper tray completely out of the machine.

2. Press and slide the paper guides to fit the paper. Press the green release levers to slide the paper guides.

3. Fan the stack of paper well.

4. Load paper in the paper tray with the printing surface face down.

5. Make sure the paper is below the maximum paper mark. Overfilling the paper tray will cause paper jams.

6. Slowly push the paper tray completely into the machine.

7. Lift the support flap to prevent paper from sliding off the output tray.

Use the ADF when copying or scanning multiple-page, standard-sized documents. The ADF can hold up to 50 pages and feed each sheet individually. Use standard 20 lb (80 g/m²) paper and ensure any correction fluid or ink is completely dry.

IMPORTANT:

– DO NOT leave thick documents on the scanner glass, as this may cause the ADF to jam.

– DO NOT use paper that is curled, wrinkled, folded, ripped, stapled, paper-clipped, pasted, or taped.

– DO NOT use cardboard, newspaper, or fabric.

– To avoid damaging your machine while using the ADF, DO NOT pull on the document while it is feeding.

Length: 5.8 to 14.0 in. (147.3 to 355.6 mm)

Width: 4.1 to 8.5 in. (105 to 215.9 mm)

Weight: 16 to 28 lb (60 to 105 g/m²)

Steps to load documents:

1. Unfold the ADF document output support flap.

2. Fan the pages well.

3. Stagger the pages of your document and load it face up and top edge first, into the ADF.

4. Adjust the paper guides to fit the width of your document.

Use the scanner glass to fax, copy, or scan one page at a time. The ADF must be empty to use the scanner glass.

Document Sizes Supported:

Length: Up to 11.8 in. (300 mm)

Width: Up to 8.5 in. (215.9 mm)

Weight: Up to 4.4 lb (2 kg)

Steps to load documents on the scanner glass:

1. Lift the document cover.

2. Place the document on the scanner glass face down.

3. Place the corner of the page in the upper left corner of the scanner glass.

4. Close the document cover. If the document is a book or is thick, gently press on the document cover.

The table below shows the maximum unscannable and unprintable areas from the edges of common paper sizes. Do not attempt to scan, copy, or print in these areas.

Some types of paper may not perform well or may cause damage to your machine. DO NOT use paper:

– that is highly textured

– that is extremely smooth or shiny

– that is curled or warped

– that is coated or has a chemical finish

– that is damaged, creased or folded

– that exceeds the recommended weight specification in this guide

– with tabs and staples

– with letterheads using low temperature dyes or thermography

– that is multipart or carbonless

– that is designed for inkjet printing

If you use any of the types of paper listed above, they may damage your machine. This damage is not covered under any Brother warranty or service agreement.

To cancel a print job on your BROTHER MFC-L2750DWXL:

1. Press the Cancel button.

To cancel multiple print jobs, press and hold the Cancel button for about four seconds.

If you are experiencing problems with print quality, follow these instructions to print a test page on your BROTHER MFC-L2750DWXL:

1. Press [Settings] > [All Settings] > [Printer] > [Print Options] > [Test Print].

2. Press [Yes].

3. Press the Home button.

To scan both sides of a document using the scan button on your BROTHER MFC-L2750DWXL, follow these steps:

1. Load your document in the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF).

2. Press [Scan] > [to PC] > [to Image] (or another scan destination like [to File]).

3. If the machine is connected over the network, press the up or down arrow to display the computer where you want to send data, and then press the computer name.

4. Press [Options].

5. Press [2-sided Scan], and then select the document type based on its binding.

6. Press [Start].

To reduce paper usage, you can copy onto both sides of the paper. To use the automatic 2-sided copy feature, you must load your document in the ADF. If you are manually making 2-sided copies from a 2-sided document, use the scanner glass. Use Letter, Legal, Mexico Legal, India Legal, or Folio sized paper.

Follow these steps:

1. Load your document.

2. Press [Copy].

3. Enter the number of copies.

4. Press [Options].

5. Press the up or down arrow to display the [2-sided Copy] option, and then press [2-sided Copy].

6. Press the up or down arrow to display the layout options, and then press the option you want.

7. When finished, press [OK].

8. Press [Start]. If you placed the document in the ADF, the machine scans the pages and starts printing. If you are using the scanner glass, proceed to the next step.

9. After the machine scans the page, place the next page on the scanner glass, and then press [Yes] to scan the next page.

10. After scanning all the pages, press [No] to finish.

Your BROTHER MFC-L2750DWXL has several receive modes to manage incoming calls:

Fax Only Mode:

Automatically answers every call as a fax.

Fax/Tel Mode:

Manages incoming calls by recognizing if they are fax or voice calls. Faxes are received automatically. Voice calls will start a fast pseudo/double-ring to signal you to pick up the call.

Manual Mode:

Turns off all automatic answering. To receive a fax, you must lift the handset of an external telephone or press the appropriate button on the machine. When you hear fax tones, press [Fax Start] and then [Receive].

External TAD Mode:

Allows an external telephone answering device (TAD) to manage calls. Faxes will be received automatically, and voice callers can record a message on the external TAD.

You can use your machine’s control panel to reset the print server to its default factory settings. This action resets all network information, including the password and IP address. This feature restores all wired and wireless network settings to the factory settings.

1. Press [Settings] > [All Settings] > [Network] > [Network Reset].

2. A message “[Machine will reboot after resetting. Press [OK] for 2 seconds to confirm.]” will be displayed. Press [OK] for two seconds to confirm.

3. The machine will restart.

If there is a paper jam in the back (Rear) of the machine, follow these steps:

1. Leave the machine turned on for 10 minutes for the internal fan to cool the hot parts inside.

2. Open the back cover.

3. Pull the blue tabs at the left and right sides toward you to release the fuser cover.

WARNING: HOT SURFACE. The machine’s internal parts will be extremely hot. Wait for the machine to cool down before touching them.

4. Use both hands to gently pull the jammed paper out of the fuser unit.

5. Close the fuser cover.

6. Close the back cover until it locks in the closed position.

If there is a paper jam inside the machine, follow these steps:

1. Leave the machine turned on for 10 minutes to allow the internal fan to cool the hot parts.

2. Open the front cover.

3. Remove the toner cartridge and drum unit assembly.

WARNING: HOT SURFACE. The machine’s internal parts will be extremely hot. Wait for the machine to cool down before touching them.

4. Pull out the jammed paper slowly.

5. Install the toner cartridge and drum unit assembly back into the machine.

6. Close the front cover.

If there is a jam in the 2-sided paper tray, follow these steps:

1. Leave the machine turned on for 10 minutes to cool the hot parts.

2. Pull the paper tray completely out of the machine.

3. At the back of the machine, pull the 2-sided tray completely out.

4. Pull the jammed paper out of the machine or out of the 2-sided tray.

5. Remove any paper that may have jammed under the machine due to static electricity.

6. If paper is not caught inside the 2-sided tray, open the back cover.

WARNING: HOT SURFACE. The machine’s internal parts are hot. Wait for the machine to cool before touching them.

7. Use both hands to gently pull the jammed paper out of the back of the machine.

8. Close the back cover until it locks in the closed position.

9. Put the 2-sided tray firmly back in the rear of the machine.

10. Put the paper tray firmly back in the front of the machine.

If your BROTHER MFC-L2750DWXL is not printing, try the following suggestions:

1. Check that the machine is not in Power Off mode. If it is, press the Power On/Off button and send the print data again.

2. Ensure the correct printer driver has been installed and selected.

3. Check if the Status Monitor or the machine’s control panel displays an error status.

4. Check that the machine is online. For Windows, right-click the printer icon, select ‘See what’s printing’, click ‘Printer’ in the menu bar, and make sure ‘Use Printer Offline’ is not selected. For Mac, go to ‘System Preferences’ > ‘Printers & Scanners’. If the machine is offline, delete it using the ‘-‘ button and add it again using the ‘+’ button.

5. If the machine has stopped printing, try to cancel the print job and clear it from the machine’s memory, then send the print data again.
