To unpack your BROTHER DCP-T425W, remove the protective tape and the film covering the machine.

NOTE:

The components may differ depending on your country.

Save all packing materials and the box in case you must ship your machine.

We recommend using a USB 2.0 cable (Type A/B) that is no more than 6 feet (2 meters) long (included in some countries).

IMPORTANT: Check the ink bottle model name on the label. Using the incorrect ink may cause damage to the machine.

1. Open the ink tank cover.

2. Remove the cap from the ink tank you wish to fill, and place it on the back of the cover.

3. Take the correct color ink bottle, remove the film, and tighten the cap firmly.

4. Remove the nozzle cap from the ink bottle.

5. Insert the bottle nozzle firmly into the ink tank so that the ink does not spill. The bottle is self-standing and the ink fills automatically until the bottle is empty. To fill the ink tank faster, squeeze the bottle on both sides.

6. When finished, remove the bottle, pointing the nozzle upward so the ink does not spill.

7. Replace the ink tank cap.

8. Repeat the steps for the other ink tanks.

9. Close the ink tank cover.

Fan the stack of paper well to prevent paper jams and misfeeds. Then, load the plain Letter paper into the paper tray.

After filling the ink tanks, press the Power button to turn the machine on. The Power light will turn on. Then, press and hold the Color (Colorido) button for 3 seconds. The Power light will start blinking, and the initial cleaning process will begin.

After the initial cleaning process, the machine will print a Print Quality Check Sheet. Examine the sheet to check the quality of the four color blocks. If the quality is good, the setup is complete. If the quality is poor, you may need to clean the print head.

To connect your BROTHER DCP-T425W, you need to download and install the Brother software. Follow the on-screen instructions provided by the software to complete the setup.

For Computers: Visit setup.brother.com

For Mobile Devices: Visit brother.com/apps and install the Brother iPrint&Scan application.

For USB Connection: Use the USB port located inside the machine, as shown in the guide.

For network connection, connect your Brother machine and computer/mobile device to the same network.

For Windows users, CD installation is also available in some countries.

The default password to manage the settings of your BROTHER DCP-T425W is located on the back of the machine and is marked “Pwd”. We recommend immediately changing the default password to protect your machine from unauthorized access.

1. Load paper in the paper tray.

2. Place the document you want to copy in the lower right corner of the scanner glass.

3. Press the Black Start button for a black and white copy, or the Color Start button for a color copy.

Multiple Copies: To make multiple copies, press the Black Start or Color Start button once for each additional copy you need.

Best Quality Copy: For a higher quality copy, press and hold the Black Start or Color Start button for two seconds.

Other Copy Functions: For other copy options, use the Brother iPrint&Scan application on your computer or mobile device.

The Copy Shortcut (Atajo copia) button is pre-configured for the 2 in 1 ID Copy function by default. Place one side of the ID on the scanner glass and press the button. The Wi-Fi LED will blink slowly after the first side is scanned, prompting you to flip the ID and press the button again to scan the other side. Both sides will then be printed on a single sheet of paper.

You can visually inspect the ink levels through the transparent cover of the ink tanks on the front of the BROTHER DCP-T425W. When the ink level for any color reaches the lower line marked on the tank, you should refill the ink tank as soon as possible to ensure continuous printing.

IMPORTANT: Do not fill the ink tank past the maximum fill mark.

If you are experiencing print quality issues, you can clean the print head. After cleaning, the machine will print a Print Quality Check Sheet.

Normal Cleaning:

1. Press the Stop (Detener) and Copy Shortcut (Atajo copia) buttons simultaneously.

2. The Ink LED will start blinking.

3. To clean all colors, press the Color Start button.

4. To clean black ink only, press the Black Start button.

Special Cleaning (if normal cleaning does not resolve the issue):

Note: This operation will consume a large amount of ink.

1. Make sure all ink tanks are at least half-full.

2. Use the procedure for normal cleaning, but in step 3, press and hold the Black Start and Color Start buttons simultaneously for five seconds while the Ink LED is blinking.

If paper becomes jammed in your BROTHER DCP-T425W, follow these general steps. Avoid getting ink on your hands during this process.

1. Gently pull any accessible jammed paper out from the front paper output tray.

2. If the paper cannot be removed from the front, open the scanner unit.

3. Carefully move the print head (if it is in the way) and remove the jammed paper from inside the machine.

4. Close the scanner unit.

5. If paper is jammed in the back, open the rear cover and pull the paper out.

6. After removing all pieces of jammed paper, press the Stop (Detener) button to clear the error.
