1. Open the machine’s back cover (the face-up output tray).

2. On the front of the machine, open the manual feed slot cover.

3. Use both hands to slide the manual feed slot paper guides to fit the width of the paper.

4. Using both hands, place one sheet of paper or a label sheet in the manual feed slot with the printing surface facing up, until the front edge touches the paper feed roller. Let go when you feel the machine pull it in.

5. Send your print job from the computer. Remember to select the appropriate media type in the printer driver settings.

6. After the page is printed, load the next sheet if needed.

7. When finished, close the back cover.

For Envelopes:

1. Before loading, press the corners and sides of the envelopes to make them as flat as possible.

2. Open the machine’s back cover (the face-up output tray).

3. Pull down the two green levers inside the back cover.

4. On the front of the machine, open the manual feed slot cover.

5. Use both hands to slide the manual feed slot paper guides to fit the width of the envelope.

6. Using both hands, put one envelope in the manual feed slot with the printing surface facing up until it touches the paper feed roller. Let go when you feel the machine pull it in.

7. Send your print job. Ensure you have selected the correct envelope size in your application’s print settings.

8. After the envelope is printed, load the next one.

9. When you finish printing, return the two green levers to their original position and close the back cover.

IMPORTANT: Do not put more than one sheet of paper, label, or envelope in the manual feed slot at one time, as it may cause a jam.

Use the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) on your BROTHER DCP-L2627DW to copy or scan multi-page documents. Follow these steps:

1. Unfold the ADF document output support flap.

2. Fan the pages of your document well.

3. Stagger the pages and load the document into the ADF face up and top edge first.

Note: To use the scanner glass, the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) must be empty.

1. Lift the document cover.

2. Place the document on the scanner glass face down.

3. Align the corner of the page with the upper-left corner of the scanner glass, using the guides.

4. Close the document cover. If the document is a book or is thick, press gently on the document cover.

3. Repeat for all pages. After scanning the final page, press the Down arrow (▼) to select the [No] option, and the machine will begin printing.

You can initiate a scan directly from the control panel of your BROTHER DCP-L2627DW.

1. Load your document into the ADF (face up) or onto the scanner glass (face down).

2. Press (Scan).

3. Press the Up (▲) or Down (▼) arrow to select the [to PC] option, and then press OK.

4. Press the Up (▲) or Down (▼) arrow to select the scan type ([Image], [File], or [OCR]), and then press OK.

You can configure your BROTHER DCP-L2627DW using the control panel’s setup wizard:

1. Press Menu.

2. Press the Up (▲) or Down (▼) arrow to select the [Network] option, and then press OK.

1. Press Menu on the machine’s control panel.

2. Use the Up (▲) or Down (▼) arrow to select [Network] and press OK.

3. Select [WLAN(Wi-Fi)] and press OK.

4. Select [WPS/PushButton] and press OK.

5. When [WLAN Enable?] appears, select On.

6. When the LCD displays [Press Key on rtr], press the WPS button on your wireless access point/router.

When the LCD displays “Replace Toner,” follow these steps to replace the toner cartridge:

1. Make sure the machine is turned on and open the front cover.

2. Remove the toner cartridge and drum unit assembly from the machine.

3. Push down the green lock lever on the side of the drum unit and take the old toner cartridge out.

4. Unpack the new toner cartridge and remove its protective cover.

5. Hold the new toner cartridge by its handle and gently shake it from side to side several times to distribute the toner evenly inside.

6. Push the new toner cartridge firmly into the drum unit until you hear it lock into place.

7. Clean the corona wire inside the drum unit by gently sliding the green tab from left to right and back to left several times.

8. Ensure the green tab is returned to the Home position (▲), aligned with the arrow on the drum unit.

9. Reinsert the toner cartridge and drum unit assembly back into the machine.

10. Close the front cover of the machine. Do not turn the machine off until the display returns to Ready Mode.

When the LCD displays “Replace Drum,” follow these steps to replace the drum unit:

1. Make sure the machine is turned on and open the front cover.

2. Remove the toner cartridge and drum unit assembly.

3. Push down the green lock lever and take the toner cartridge out of the old drum unit.

4. Unpack the new drum unit.

5. Push the toner cartridge firmly into the new drum unit until it locks into place.

6. Reinsert the new toner cartridge and drum unit assembly back into the machine.

7. Close the front cover.

8. After installing the new drum unit, you must reset the drum counter for the machine to recognize the new drum.

After you replace the drum unit with a new one, you must reset the drum counter on your BROTHER DCP-L2627DW by following these steps:

1. Make sure the machine is turned on and the front cover is closed.

2. Press OK and the Up arrow (▲) at the same time.

3. Press OK to select [Drum].

4. Press the Up arrow (▲) to reset the drum counter.

IMPORTANT: Only reset the drum counter when you replace the drum unit. Resetting it without replacing the unit can cause damage to your machine.

If you have print quality problems, such as vertical streaks, cleaning the corona wire may resolve the issue. Follow these steps:

1. Open the front cover of the machine.

2. Remove the toner cartridge and drum unit assembly.

3. Clean the corona wire inside the drum unit by gently sliding the green tab from left to right and right to left several times.

4. Be sure to return the tab to the Home position (indicated by an arrow ▲). The arrow on the tab must be aligned with the arrow on the drum unit. If it is not, printed pages may have a vertical stripe.

5. Reinsert the toner cartridge and drum unit assembly back into the machine.

6. Close the front cover of the machine.

If your BROTHER DCP-L2627DW will not print, follow these troubleshooting suggestions:

If you have a paper jam, the location will be indicated on the machine’s control panel or Status Monitor. Follow the steps for the specific location.

Paper Jammed in the Paper Tray:

1. Pull the paper tray completely out of the machine.

2. Slowly pull the jammed paper downwards out of the machine.

3. Fan the paper stack, ensure it is below the maximum paper mark, and put the paper tray firmly back into the machine.

Paper Jammed in the Back of the Machine:

1. Leave the machine on for 10 minutes to cool down internal parts.

2. Open the back cover.

3. Pull the blue tabs at the left and right sides towards you to release the fuser cover.

4. Use both hands to gently pull the jammed paper out of the machine.

5. Close the fuser cover and then the back cover.

Paper Jammed inside the Machine:

1. Leave the machine on for 10 minutes to cool down.

2. Open the front cover.

3. Remove the toner cartridge and drum unit assembly.

4. Pull out the jammed paper slowly.

5. Install the toner cartridge and drum unit assembly back into the machine.

6. Close the front cover.

WARNING: Internal parts of the machine will be extremely hot. Wait for the machine to cool down before touching them.

To check your BROTHER DCP-L2627DW’s information, follow these steps:

1. Press Menu.

2. Press the Up (▲) or Down (▼) arrow to display the [Machine Info.] option, and then press OK.

3. Press the Up (▲) or Down (▼) arrow to select one of the following options:

You can reset some or all of your machine’s settings to the original factory settings. Be aware that this will erase your customized settings.
