To shave hard-to-reach areas (e.g. under the nose), slide the MultiHeadLock switch down to lock the shaver head. The shaver head can be locked in five positions. 2. Next, switch off the shaver, press the release button to remove the Foil & Cutter cassette and let it dry.
3. If you regularly clean the shaver under water, then once a week apply a drop of light machine oil on top of the Foil & Cutter cassette.
Cleaning with a brush:
1. Switch off the shaver. Remove the Foil & Cutter cassette and tap it out on a flat surface.
2. Using the brush, clean the inner area of the pivoting head. Do not clean the cassette with the brush as this may damage it!

Braun recommends changing your shaver’s Foil & Cutter cassette (model 52S/52B) every 18 months to maintain your shaver’s maximum performance.

Why doesn’t my BRAUN 5030S charge completely and why does it keep blinking?
This may happen if the ambient temperature is outside of the valid range. The recommended ambient temperature for charging your BRAUN 5030S is 5°C to 35°C.
Why won’t my BRAUN 5030S start charging when connected to the power socket?
There are a couple of reasons this might happen with your BRAUN 5030S:
• Sometimes charging can be delayed, for example, after a long period of storage. Wait a few minutes to see if charging starts automatically.
• The ambient temperature may be outside of the valid range. Ensure the charging temperature is between 5°C and 35°C.
What should I do if there is an unpleasant smell from the shaver head of my BRAUN 5030S?
If there is an unpleasant smell, it may be because the shaver head was cleaned only with water. When cleaning the shaver head of your BRAUN 5030S with water, use hot water and from time to time some liquid soap (without abrasive substances). Remove the foil & cutter cassette to let it dry completely.
What can I do if the battery performance of my BRAUN 5030S has dropped significantly?
If the battery performance of your BRAUN 5030S has dropped, consider the following:
• If the shaver head is regularly cleaned with water but not lubricated, apply a drop of light machine oil on top of the foil once a week for lubrication.
• The foil and cutter may be worn, which requires more power for each shave. Renew the foil & cutter cassette.
Why has the shaving performance of my BRAUN 5030S dropped, and what can I do?
A drop in shaving performance of your BRAUN 5030S can be due to two main reasons:
1. The shaving system is clogged. To fix this, soak the foil & cutter cassette in hot water with a drop of liquid dish soap. Afterwards, rinse it properly and tap it out. Once dry, apply a drop of light machine oil on the foil.
2. The foil and cutter are worn. You should renew the foil & cutter cassette.
Why are the battery segments on my BRAUN 5030S display being skipped, indicating decreasing capacity?
This happens when the foil and cutter are worn, which requires more power for each shave. To resolve this, renew the foil & cutter cassette. It is also recommended to regularly oil the shaving system, especially when cleaning with water only.
