The box for the BRASS MONKEY 95L contains the following items:

• 1 x Portable Dual Zone Fridge / Freezer

• 1 x Mains to DC Power Adapter

• 1 x 12/24V Car Cigarette Power Lead

Please follow these safety guidelines when using your BRASS MONKEY 95L:

• The installation of DC power sources in a boat must be handled by a qualified electrician.

• Make sure to connect power to the suitable voltage socket.

• No electrical devices are to be used inside the product.

• The product can be powered on only after being unpacked and put on a flat level surface for over 6 hours.

• Fridge operating angle: The fridge can be operated indefinitely at up to 5 degrees, and can be operated at between 6 and 45 degrees for up to 30 mins.

• The product must be well ventilated. Ensure there is a minimum of 200mm clearance at the back, and 100mm around the sides.

• The product should be in a well-ventilated space, away from heat sources. Try to avoid direct exposure to sunlight.

• Keep the product stable.

• When there is water inside the tank, do not turn the product upside down to empty. Dry the water, do not soak in water.

• Do not put metal in the air inlet vent, outlet vent, or gap.

• Do not connect with power except 12/24VDC, or the 240VAC to 12VDC power adapter (included).

• Do not soak the product in water or wash with water.

• The product should not be repaired. If there are any issues please consult the place of purchase.

• Turn off the product before cleaning to avoid electric shocks or other issues.

• Keep the product away from wet or humid places.

To operate your BRASS MONKEY 95L, follow these steps:

1. Connect to a power source.

2. Press the power button to switch ON. Long press the power button for three seconds to switch OFF.

3. The internal temperature will display and the compressor will start.

4. SET: Press the SET button (gear icon) to enter different modes, ECO (Energy Saving Mode), and MAX (Fast Cooling Mode). The factory setting is Max.

5. When the power is on and the dual temperature zone is active, press the “+” or “-” button to enter the left zone temperature setting. Then press the SET button (gear icon) to switch between setting the temperature for the left or right compartments. Press “+” or “-” to adjust the temperature for the selected compartment.

6. In the power-on state, long press the “+” and SET (gear icon) buttons together for 3 seconds to turn the left zone on or off. Note: the setting temperature of the left compartment must not be lower than that of the right compartment, and the right compartment cannot be turned off separately.

The main external components of the BRASS MONKEY 95L are:

The BRASS MONKEY 95L can be powered in the following ways:

• 12V/24V DC power: Using the included car cigarette lighter power lead.

• 100-240V AC power: Using the included AC to DC adapter.

• Optional removable Lithium battery: Can power the fridge if there is no connection to DC/AC power.

When connected to DC/AC power, the refrigerator will run and simultaneously charge the optional removable battery if it is installed.

Connect the BRASS MONKEY 95L to a DC, AC, or Solar power source and place the battery into the fridge’s battery case. The battery will be charged automatically. Please note that the power supply will mainly power the compressor when the refrigerator is running, which will cause the battery to charge slowly.

For faster charging, turn off the refrigerator. Alternatively, you can remove the battery from the fridge case and charge it using the optional battery charger from a wall power outlet.

Notice: The battery must be removed from the appliance before it is scrapped. The fridge must be disconnected from the supply mains when removing the battery. The battery needs to be disposed of safely.

Warning: Please do not open or disassemble the battery.

To connect a solar panel, insert the solar charge cable into the refrigerator’s Solar charge interface. The solar input specifications are:

• Max Solar input Voltage: 50V

• Max Solar input Current: 10A

Warning: Do not charge the fridge/freezer with DC12V and a Solar Panel at the same time. The fridge could be seriously damaged and pose a potential hazard to you.

When the BRASS MONKEY 95L is powered ON and a DC/AC power source is connected, the battery icon on the display screen will flash to show it is charging. To charge the battery without running the compressor, simply connect the power adapters without powering “ON” the fridge.

To view the charging status, press and hold the SET button (gear icon) for 3 seconds. The fridge’s battery status and voltage will be displayed. When the voltage reaches 12.6V and the battery icon stops flashing, the unit has been fully charged. At this point, the wiring should be disconnected to prevent internal component damage.

If the BRASS MONKEY 95L has not been used for a long time, the optional battery may be discharged, and the fridge will not power on. If this occurs, use the AC adapter to charge the fridge battery and run the fridge. After the fridge battery has charged up to 30%, you can switch to other methods for charging.

The BRASS MONKEY 95L has a three-level battery protection function to protect your vehicle’s battery. To set the protection level:

1. While the unit is on, long press the SET button (gear icon) for 3 seconds.

2. The display screen will flash H, M, or L.

3. Select the desired low voltage protection level – L(ow), M(edium), or H(igh) – by clicking the SET button (gear icon).

The factory default is set to H(igh) protection.

• H (High) should be set when the product is connected to car power.

• M (Medium) or L (Low) should be set when it is connected to a portable battery or other back-up battery.

If a voltage protection code F1 is shown on the panel, it may be necessary to lower the battery protection level from H to M or from M to L. The battery protection level should be set to H if the product will keep working after turning off the car engine, or the product may drain the battery.

To ensure your BRASS MONKEY 95L is being charged by a solar panel, please turn the fridge on first. The battery icon will flash on the display screen to show the charging status. The fridge can be turned off while it is being charged. You can press and hold the SET button (gear icon) for over 3 seconds to check the battery status and voltage.

An extension cable may be required to keep the fridge in a cool place (to avoid overheating) while the solar panel is in the sun. The input power for charging should be higher than the refrigerator power draw (about 40-45w), otherwise the optional battery will not charge. To ensure that solar charging power is higher than the refrigerator working power, a 100-Watt solar panel is advised.

Optional Removable Battery: The lithium battery is back up power to keep the refrigerator working for short periods while off grid.

Notice: When not using the battery power or fridge for a long time, please turn off the battery output by holding the setting button for 3 seconds.

Maintain Battery Charge:

1. Home / Hotel: Use the AC adapter to charge the unit from an AC outlet.

2. Car / Boat: Use the DC port to power the fridge and charge the battery.

3. Outdoor: Charge the battery with an optional solar panel. A portable 12V power system, solar setup, or petrol generator would be a good companion.

Extended battery usage:

1. Cool down the fridge before your journey: It is always suggested to charge the fridge battery and cool the fridge down in advance with the mains to DC adapter from a wall outlet the day before the trip. Placing food and beverages inside the fridge to cool the day before will not only keep the optional battery more durable, but also save energy for outdoor activities once on battery mode.

2. Disconnecting the Battery: The battery can be removed or disconnected with the side button. This prevents the battery from discharging. The product will work from the AC adapter or car outlet without the optional battery installed. Note: Please fully charge the optional battery before putting it into storage for 1 month or more.

Freezer (-4°F~32° F)(-20°C~0°C):

1. Meat should be cut and packed properly when placed in the fridge.

2. Do not put fresh food and frozen food together.

3. Do not store glass containers or other containers which seal in liquid in the freezer, to avoid explosion.

Refrigerator (32°F~50° F)(0°C~10°C):

1. Egg, butter, milk and bottled drinks can be stored.

2. All food should be packed appropriately before being stored in the fridge.

3. Place food in the refrigerator after it gets cool in order to save energy.

1. Download the “BRASS MONKEY FRIDGE” Application. Use a pre-installed QR reader on your handheld smart device to scan the QR code in the manual or on the carton, or search for the “BRASS MONKEY FRIDGE” APP in the iTunes App Store (for Apple devices) or Google store (Android Devices).

2. Start the application and select the “Search” function.

3. The application will prompt you to pair the fridge by pressing the set button (gear icon) on the fridge’s control panel. Once the set button has been activated, the fridge will be paired with your smart device.

4. The application will switch to a control panel allowing you to control the fridge’s functions, including:

• Power ON/OFF

• Temperature Display and Setting

• °C/°F settings

• Advanced settings

• Energy saving mode (ECO)

• Fast cooling mode (MAX)

• Battery protection settings

Cleaning:

1. Do not wash the product with water or soak it.

2. Please disconnect from power before cleaning the product to avoid electrical shock.

3. Drain the product simply by removing the plug at the bottom.

4. Clean it with a soft wet cloth.

Long Term Storage:

If you will not use the product for a long period of time, ensure you:

1. Turn it off and disconnect from power.

2. Remove everything from inside (food, drinks, etc).

3. Drain any remaining water by removing the drain plug, then wipe all internal surfaces with a soft cloth to ensure that they are clean and dry.

4. Keep it stored away from wet or humid places.

The product is not working:

• If using the 240V AC to 12V DC adapter, check that the power supply is working.

• If using the DC cable, please ensure the cable still works.

• Check that the power supply is working.

• Check if the plug and socket are connected.

• Check the fuse.

• Check that the power switch on the control panel is on.

• The compressor has a delay protection and will start 3 minutes after turning on.

Food inside the product is frozen:

• The temperature is set too low. Adjust the temperature setting.

Water flowing sound inside the tank:

• This is normal. It is the sound of the refrigerant flowing.

Water drops around the case or door gap:

• When moisture in the air meets the lower temperature case, it will naturally become liquefied and condensed. This is normal. Wipe it away with a towel or soft cloth.

• Code F1 displayed: Low voltage protection. This can be solved by setting the battery protection button from H to M or from M to L.

• Code F2 displayed: Fan overload protection. Please turn off the product and restart it after 30 minutes. If the code displays again, please contact the place of purchase.

• Code F3 displayed: Compressor frequent start protection. Please turn off the product and restart it after 30 minutes. If the code displays again, please contact the place of purchase.

• Code F4 displayed: Compressor is overloaded or working at a low speed. Please turn off the product and restart it after 30 minutes. If the code displays again, please contact the place of purchase.

• Code F5 displayed: High temperature compressor module protection. Please move the product to a ventilated area and turn it off for 30 minutes then restart it. If the code displays again, please contact the place of purchase.

• Code F6 displayed: No parameter can be detected by the controller. Please restart the product. If the code displays again, please contact the place of purchase.

• Code F7 / F8 displayed: Temperature sensor error protection. Please check the sensor terminal.
