Read the instructions carefully before use. Retain the instruction manual for future use or for subsequent owners.

Check the appliance for damage after unpacking. Do not connect it if it has been damaged in transport.

This appliance is intended for domestic use only, for the preparation of food and drink. It must be supervised during operation and used indoors.

This appliance is intended for use up to a maximum height of 4000 metres above sea level.

This appliance may be used by children over the age of 8 and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience or knowledge if they are supervised or instructed on safe use.

Children must not play with, on, or around the appliance.

Cleaning and general maintenance must not be carried out by children unless they are at least 15 years old and are being supervised.

Keep children below the age of 8 years old at a safe distance from the appliance and power cable.

This appliance is not intended for operation with an external clock timer or a remote control.

■ Combustible items stored in the cooking compartment may catch fire. Never store combustible items in the cooking compartment. If there is smoke inside, never open the appliance door. Switch off the appliance, unplug it from the mains, or switch off the circuit breaker.

■ The appliance becomes very hot. Never use the top of the appliance as a worktop or storage area. Make sure you comply with the minimum clearance for installation.

■ Do not install the appliance behind a decorative door or the door of a kitchen unit, as there is a risk of overheating.

■ Using the appliance for anything other than its intended purpose is dangerous. Drying out food or clothing, heating slippers, grain or cereal pillows, sponges, damp cleaning cloths or similar is not permitted and can cause fire.

■ Food may catch fire. Never heat food in heat-retaining packages. Do not leave food heating unattended in containers made of plastic, paper or other combustible materials.

■ Do not select a microwave power or time setting that is higher than necessary. Never use the microwave to dry food. Never defrost or heat food with a low water content (e.g., bread) at too high a power or for too long.

■ Cooking oil may catch fire. Never use the microwave to heat cooking oil on its own.

Liquids and other food may explode when in containers that have been tightly sealed. Never heat liquids or other food in containers that have been tightly sealed.

Risk of serious damage to health!

■ The appliance surface can be damaged if not cleaned properly, which could lead to microwave energy escaping. Clean the appliance regularly and remove food residue immediately. Keep the cooking compartment, door seal, door, and door stop clean.

■ Microwave energy may escape if the cooking compartment door or seal is damaged. Never use the appliance if these parts are damaged. Contact the after-sales service.

■ Microwave energy will escape from appliances without a casing. Never remove the casing. For any maintenance or repair work, contact the after-sales service.

Risk of electric shock!

■ Incorrect repairs are dangerous and must only be carried out by a trained after-sales technician. If the appliance is defective, unplug it or switch off the circuit breaker and contact the after-sales service.

■ The cable insulation on electrical appliances may melt if it touches hot parts of the appliance. Never let electrical appliance cables contact hot parts of the appliance.

■ Do not use high-pressure or steam cleaners, which can result in an electric shock.

■ Penetrating moisture may cause an electric shock. Only use this appliance indoors and do not subject it to intense heat or humidity.

■ A defective appliance may cause an electric shock. Never switch on a defective appliance. Unplug it or switch off the circuit breaker and contact the after-sales service.

■ The appliance is a high-voltage appliance. Never remove the casing.

■ Penetrating liquid may cause an electric shock. Remove the mains plug and/or switch off the fuse. Never set containers with liquids on the appliance or use it as a storage area.

Risk of serious burns!

■ Accessories and ovenware become very hot. Always use oven gloves to remove them from the cooking compartment.

■ Alcoholic vapours may catch fire in the hot cooking compartment. Never prepare food with large quantities of high-alcohol drinks. Use only small quantities and open the appliance door with care.

■ Foods with peel or skin may burst or explode during or after heating. Never cook eggs in their shells or reheat hard-boiled eggs. Prick the yolk when baking or poaching eggs. Prick the peel or skin of foods like apples, tomatoes, potatoes, and sausages before heating.

■ Heat is not distributed evenly in baby food. Always remove the lid or teat, stir or shake well, and check the temperature before giving it to a child.

■ Heated food gives off heat, making ovenware hot. Always use oven gloves to remove ovenware.

■ Airtight packaging can burst when heated. Follow packaging instructions and use oven gloves to remove dishes.

■ The appliance becomes very hot. Do not touch interior surfaces or heating elements. Allow it to cool and keep children at a distance.

Risk of scalding!

■ Hot steam may escape when you open the appliance door. Open the door with care and keep children at a safe distance.

■ Water in a hot cooking compartment can create hot steam. Never pour water into a hot cooking compartment.

■ Delayed boiling can occur with liquids. The liquid reaches boiling temperature without usual steam bubbles. A slight vibration can cause it to suddenly boil over. Always place a spoon in the container when heating liquids to prevent this.

Risk of injury!

■ Scratched glass in the appliance door may develop a crack. Do not use a glass scraper, sharp or abrasive cleaning aids, or detergents.

■ Unsuitable ovenware may crack. Only use microwave-safe ovenware.

■ In microwave-only mode, metal containers can cause sparks and damage the appliance. Never use metal containers in microwave-only mode.

■ For combination mode, use cookware that can withstand both microwave and high-temperature grilling modes.

■ The glass turntable may splinter. Avoid hard objects striking it. Handle with care.

Caution!

■ Heavily soiled seal: If the seal is very dirty, the appliance door will not close properly. Always keep the seal clean.

■ Operating the microwave without food: This may lead to overloading. Never switch on the appliance unless there is food inside, except for a short crockery test.

■ Microwave popcorn: Never set the microwave power too high. Use a power setting no higher than 600 watts. Always place the popcorn bag on a glass plate.

■ Liquid that has boiled over: Do not allow it to run through the turntable drive. Monitor the cooking process and choose a shorter cooking time initially.

■ Never use the microwave oven without the turntable.

■ Creation of sparks: Metal (e.g., a spoon in a glass) must be kept at least 2 cm from the oven walls and the inside of the door. Sparks can irreparably damage the glass.

■ Foil containers: Do not use foil containers in the appliance as they damage it by producing sparks.

■ Cooling with the appliance door open: Only leave the cooking compartment to cool with the door closed. Do not trap anything in the door.

■ Condensation: Condensation may appear on the door window, interior walls, and floor. This is normal. To prevent corrosion, wipe off the condensation every time you cook.

This appliance is for domestic use only. Place the table-top appliance on a solid, level surface at least 85 cm above the floor. The ventilation slits must not be covered. The minimum height of the free space above the surface of the appliance is 30 cm. Side clearance should be at least 100 mm.

The appliance is ready to be plugged in and must only be connected to a correctly installed earthed socket. The mains voltage must correspond to the voltage specified on the rating plate.

Only a qualified electrician may install the socket or replace the power cable. The appliance plug must always be accessible.

Do not use multi-socket adaptors, power strips or extension leads, as overloading causes a risk of fire.

1. Place the turntable ring (a) in the recess in the cooking compartment.

2. Let the turntable (b) slot in place in the drive (c) in the centre of the cooking compartment floor.

Note: Do not use the appliance if the turntable is not in place. Ensure that it is properly slotted into place. The turntable can turn clockwise or anti-clockwise. When removing dishes, make sure the turntable does not move and is properly locked.

Microwaves
Microwaves are converted to heat inside food. Ideal for rapid defrosting, heating up, melting, and cooking. The power settings are:

■ 800 watts – for heating liquids.

■ 600 watts – for heating and cooking food.

■ 360 watts – for cooking meat and heating delicate foods.

■ 180 watts – for defrosting and continued cooking.

■ 90 watts – for defrosting delicate foods.

Grill
You can use this to grill or cook bakes “au gratin”.

Combined grill and microwave
This involves simultaneous operation of the grill and the microwave. It is particularly suitable for cooking bakes and gratins, making food crispy and brown. It is much quicker and saves energy.

Before first use, heat the empty cooking compartment to remove the new smell. Ensure no packaging remnants are left inside.

1. Set the power selector to the grill symbol.

2. Use the time switch to set 10 minutes.

A signal will sound once the time has elapsed. Open the appliance door.

If you are unsure whether your ovenware is suitable, perform the following test. Do not switch on the microwave unless there is food inside; this test is the only exception.

1. Heat the empty ovenware at maximum power for 1/2 to 1 minute.

2. Check the temperature occasionally. The ovenware should still be cold or warm to the touch.

The ovenware is unsuitable if it becomes hot or sparks are generated.

Suitable ovenware: Heat-resistant ovenware made of glass, glass ceramic, porcelain, ceramic or heat-resistant plastic. Serving dishes can also be used.

Unsuitable ovenware: Metal ovenware is unsuitable. Metal does not allow microwaves to pass through.

1. Set the power selector to the required microwave power setting.

2. Set a cooking time using the time switch.

Note: If the cooking time is less than two minutes, first turn the time switch to a longer time and then immediately back to the desired time. The set cooking time counts down, and a signal sounds when it has elapsed.

To change the cooking time: This can be done at any time by turning the time switch.

To cancel operation: Set the time switch to 0.

The microwave power settings are:

Example: grill, 15 minutes

1. Set the power selector to the grill symbol.

2. Use the time switch to set 15 minutes.

When using the grill, place the food on the wire rack, which should be placed on the turntable.

This mode involves simultaneous operation of the grill and microwave. The available combinations are 180 watts or 360 watts combined with the grill.

Setting procedure (Example: 360W, 25 minutes):

1. Set the power selector to the 360W combined grill/microwave symbol.

2. Set the cooking time using the time switch.

The set time will count down. A signal sounds when the time has elapsed. If you open the door during operation, the process is paused and will resume when the door is closed.

Warning – Risk of burns/electric shock: Never clean the appliance immediately after switching off; let it cool down. Do not immerse the appliance in water or clean under a jet of water. Before cleaning, unplug the appliance or switch off the circuit breaker.

Do not use:

■ sharp or abrasive cleaning agents.

■ metal or glass scrapers to clean the glass door or seal.

■ hard scouring pads or cleaning sponges.

■ cleaning agents with high concentrations of alcohol.

If the appliance does not work, check the following:

■ The plug is not plugged into the mains. -> Plug the plug in.

■ Power cut. -> Check whether the kitchen light works.

■ Faulty circuit breaker. -> Look in the fuse box to make sure the fuse for the appliance is OK. Switch off the circuit breaker in the fuse box. Reconnect it after approx. 10 seconds.

■ Incorrect operation. -> Review operating instructions.

If the microwave function specifically does not work:

■ The door was not fully closed. -> Check whether food remains or foreign material is trapped in the door.

■ The time switch has not been set. -> Set the time switch.

■ The microwave power setting was too low. -> Select a higher microwave power setting.

■ You have placed a larger amount of food than normal in the appliance. -> Double the amount = double the cooking time.

■ The food was colder than usual. -> Stir or turn the food during cooking.

There may be dirt or a foreign object in the area around the turntable drive. Clean the roller ring and recess in the cooking compartment.

The microwave has a fault. If this fault occurs repeatedly, please call the after-sales service.

■ If you cannot find settings for a specific quantity of food: Increase or reduce the cooking times using the rule of thumb: Double the amount = almost double the cooking time; Half the amount = half the cooking time.

■ If the food has become too dry: Next time, set a shorter cooking time or select a lower microwave power setting. Cover the food and add more liquid.

■ If the food is not defrosted, hot, or cooked after the time has elapsed: Set a longer time. Large quantities and food which is piled high require longer times.

■ If food is overheated at the edge but not done in the middle: Stir it during the cooking time and next time, select a lower microwave power setting and a longer cooking time.

■ If poultry or meat is defrosted on the outside but not in the middle: Next time, select a lower microwave power setting. If you are defrosting a large quantity, turn it several times.

■ Condensation: Condensation may appear on the door window, interior walls, and floor. This is normal and does not affect operation. Wipe away the condensation after cooking.

Notes for Defrosting:

■ Place frozen food in an open container on the turntable.

■ Cover delicate parts (like chicken legs/wings) with small pieces of aluminium foil, ensuring the foil doesn’t touch the oven walls. Remove the foil halfway through defrosting.

■ Drain off liquid produced when defrosting meat or poultry. Do not use this liquid for other purposes.

■ Turn or stir the food once or twice during defrosting. Turn large pieces several times.

■ Let defrosted items stand at room temperature for 10-20 minutes to allow the temperature to even out.

Notes for Frozen Food:

■ Take ready meals out of the packaging and place in microwaveable ovenware.

■ Food which lies flat will cook more quickly than food which is piled high. Distribute the food as flat as possible.

■ Always cover the food. Use a plate or special microwave foil if you do not have a suitable cover.

■ Stir or turn the food 2 or 3 times during cooking.

■ After heating, allow the food to stand for a further 2 to 5 minutes to achieve an even temperature.

■ Always use an oven cloth or oven gloves when removing plates.

Risk of scalding! There is a possibility of delayed boiling when a liquid is heated. Always place a spoon in the container when heating liquids to prevent this.

Notes for Heating Food:

■ Take ready meals out of the packaging.

■ Always cover the food. If you do not have a suitable cover, use a plate or special microwave foil.

■ Stir or turn the food several times during heating. Check the temperature.

■ After heating, allow the food to stand for 2 to 5 minutes for an even temperature.

■ Always use an oven cloth or oven gloves when removing plates.

Notes for Cooking Food:

■ Food which lies flat will cook more quickly than food which is piled high. Distribute food as flat as possible.

■ Cook the food in ovenware with a lid. If you do not have a suitable lid, use a plate or special microwave foil.

■ After cooking, allow the food to stand for 2 to 5 minutes for an even temperature.

■ Always use an oven cloth or oven gloves when removing plates.
