What are the safety precautions I should take when using the cordless handstick vacuum cleaner?

Read the instruction manual carefully and keep it and the product information safe for future reference or for the next owner. Do not connect the appliance if it has been damaged in transit. Only use the appliance with genuine parts and accessories, as damage caused by using third-party products is not covered under the warranty. Use the appliance for cleaning surfaces in private households and in enclosed spaces in a domestic environment at room temperature, and up to an altitude of max. 2000 m above sea level. Only use the mopping nozzle with genuine parts and microfibre mopping pads – BHZUPAD1, for vacuuming and mopping smooth, moisture-resistant hard floors and for applications that are described in the instructions.

Do not use the appliance for vacuum-cleaning persons or animals, for vacuuming up harmful, sharp-edged, hot or burning substances, for vacuuming up damp substances or liquids, for vacuuming up highly flammable or explosive materials and gases, for vacuuming up ash or soot from stoves and central heating systems, for vacuuming up toner dust from printers and photocopiers, or for vacuuming up building rubble. Do not use the mopping nozzle to clean unsealed/untreated floors and cork floors, to clean very rough surfaces (e.g. concrete, asphalt), to clean carpets, upholstery and mattresses, or to vacuum up liquids or sticky, viscous substances.

Disconnect the appliance from the power supply when cleaning it. The appliance may be used by children aged 8 or over and by people who have reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or inadequate experience and/or knowledge, provided that they are supervised or have been instructed on how to use the appliance safely and have understood the resulting dangers. Do not let children play with the appliance, and cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by children unless they are being supervised. Never let the power cord come into contact with hot appliance parts or heat sources, or with sharp points or edges, and never kink, crush or modify the power cord.

Connect and operate the charging cable and the quick charger only in accordance with the specifications on the rating plate, and connect them to a power supply with alternating current only via a properly installed socket with earthing. Repairs to the appliance should only be carried out by trained specialist staff, and only use genuine spare parts when repairing the appliance. Never operate a damaged appliance or an appliance with a cracked or fractured surface, and call customer services if needed. Only use the appliance in enclosed spaces, and never expose it to intense heat or humidity. Do not use steam- or high-pressure cleaners to clean the appliance, and do not apply flammable substances or substances containing alcohol to the filter. When cleaning the appliance, do not use flammable substances or substances that contain alcohol.

What should people with electronic implants keep in mind?

Persons with electronic implants must stand at least 10 cm away from the appliance.

Protect the battery against fire, heat and constant sunlight, as well as against water and penetrating moisture. Never open the battery. When not in use, keep the battery away from metal objects, e.g. paper clips, coins, keys, nails or screws. If fumes are escaping from a damaged battery, supply fresh air, and if there are any problems, seek medical advice from a doctor. If liquids are escaping from a damaged battery and they come into contact with the skin, rinse immediately with water, and if these come into contact with the eyes, seek medical help.

What should I avoid when mopping floors?

Do not clean excessively wet floors, and do not immerse the appliance in liquids or hold it under running water. Allow damp floors to dry, and proceed carefully on damp stairs and flooring.

Check and clean any wet objects and replace damaged objects.

What should I check regularly on the nozzles?

Regularly check the running surfaces of the nozzles for wear and replace worn nozzles.

Never use the nozzle without the brush roller in place and never operate the appliance without the filter unit. Do not store the nozzle at temperatures below 5 °C.

What should I do with the water tank after use?

Empty the water tank after use.

What should I know about the wear of Li-ion batteries?

Like every Li-ion battery, the batteries from the Power for ALL 18 V series wear out over time, meaning that the battery capacity and the runtime decrease. This is a natural aging process and not the result of a material error, manufacturing error or material defect.

How can I delay the natural wear of the battery?

  • Only charge the battery in the temperature range between 0 °C and 45 °C.

Dose cleaning additives according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Do not use wax, oils or cleaning additives that cannot be diluted with water, and do not use any non-transparent, milky, chlorinated, acidic and foaming cleaning additives (e.g. dishwasher detergent). Only use neutral multi-purpose cleaning agents. Close the filling lid completely before inserting the water tank, and wipe up any residual water on the water tank with an absorbent cloth.
