Please observe the following safety warnings when using your BEKO CRFG1582W refrigerator:

• Do not connect your appliance to the electricity supply until all packing and transit protectors have been removed.

• If transported horizontally, leave it to stand upright for at least 4 hours before switching on to allow compressor oil to settle.

• If you are discarding an old refrigerator with a lock or latch, disable the lock/latch to prevent the entrapment of young children.

• This fridge/freezer must only be used for its intended purpose (storing and freezing of edible foodstuff).

• Do not dispose of the appliance on a fire. Your appliance contains non CFC/HFC natural substances in the cooling system (R600a) and insulation (cyclopentane) which are potentially flammable if exposed to fire. Take care not to damage the cooling circuit/pipes.

• Keep ventilation openings, in the appliance enclosure or in the built-in structure, clear of obstruction.

• Do not damage the refrigerant circuit.

• Do not use electrical appliances inside the food storage compartments unless they are of the type recommended by the manufacturer.

• Ensure the plug remains readily accessible. Do not use a multiple adapter or extension cable.

• Children aged from 8 years and above can use this appliance under supervision. Cleaning and user maintenance should not be made by children without supervision.

Before inserting the plug into the wall socket, ensure the voltage and frequency on the rating plate inside the appliance match your electricity supply. The rating label is on the left-hand side of the fridge inner liner. This appliance must be earthed.

It is recommended that this appliance be connected to the mains supply via a suitable switched and fused socket. The appliance must be positioned so that the plug is accessible.

Warning: When positioning the appliance, ensure the supply cord is not trapped or damaged.

If the fitted moulded plug is not suitable for your socket, it should be cut off and an appropriate plug fitted. The old plug should be destroyed as a plug with a bared cord could cause a shock hazard if inserted elsewhere. The moulded plug on this appliance incorporates a 13A fuse. If the fuse needs replacing, an ASTABEAB approved BS 1362 fuse of the same rating must be used. The replacement fuse cover must be the same colour as that on the pin face of the plug.

If the colours of the wires in the mains lead do not correspond with the coloured markings in your plug, proceed as follows:

1. Connect the green-yellow or green (Earth) wire to the terminal in the plug marked ‘E’ or with the earth symbol, or coloured green and yellow or green.

2. Connect the blue (Neutral) wire to the terminal in the plug marked ‘N’ or coloured black.

3. Connect the brown (Live) wire to the terminal in the plug marked ‘L’ or coloured red.

4. With alternative plugs, a 13A fuse must be fitted either in the plug, adaptor, or in the main fuse box. If in doubt, contact a qualified electrician.

1. Ensure your appliance is installed in a well-ventilated area.

2. Keep the time between buying chilled/frozen food and placing it in your appliance to a minimum, particularly in summer. Use a cool bag or special carrier bag for perishable food.

3. Do not leave the door(s) open longer than necessary and ensure they are closed properly after each opening.

4. Defrost frozen food in the fridge compartment. This allows the frozen food to act as an ice pack to assist cooling in the fridge.

5. The energy consumption is measured while the freezer compartment is loaded without the top shelf lid and the drawers (except the bottom drawer). For maximum loading capacity, it is advised to load the freezer compartment without using drawers, except for the bottom one.

Packaging Information:

Packaging materials are manufactured from recyclable materials. Do not dispose of them with domestic or other wastes. Take them to the packaging material collection points designated by local authorities.

Disposing of your old refrigerator:

Dispose of your old refrigerator without harming the environment. Consult your authorized dealer or the waste collection center of your municipality. Before disposal, cut out the electric plug and make any locks on the door inoperable to protect children against any danger.

This product complies with the EU WEEE Directive (2012/19/EU) and should not be disposed of with normal domestic waste. It should be taken to a collection center for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment.

1. Unplug the refrigerator. Before transportation, it should be emptied and cleaned.

2. Before re-packaging, secure shelves, accessories, crisper, etc., inside with adhesive tape against impacts. The package should be bound with thick tape or sound ropes, and transportation rules on the package must be observed.

3. Keep original packaging and foam materials for future transportations or moves.

Before you start using your refrigerator:

1. Attach the 2 plastic wedges as illustrated in the manual. These wedges maintain the distance for air circulation between your refrigerator and the wall.

2. Clean the interior of the refrigerator as recommended in the “Maintenance and cleaning” section.

3. Connect the plug to the wall socket. The fridge internal lamp will turn on when the door is opened.

4. You will hear a sound when the compressor starts. The liquid and gases sealed within the refrigeration system may also give rise to noise, even if the compressor is not running; this is normal.

5. The front edges of the refrigerator may feel warm. This is normal and is designed to prevent condensation.

1. Install your refrigerator in a place that allows for ease of use.

2. Keep it away from heat sources, humid places, and direct sunlight.

3. Ensure there is appropriate air ventilation. If placed in a recess, there must be at least 5 cm distance from the ceiling and the wall. Do not place it on materials like a rug or carpet.

4. Place it on an even floor surface to prevent jolts.

Important:

• Be careful not to touch the bottom of the condenser metal wires at the back of the appliance during cleaning/carrying to avoid injury.

• This appliance is not designed for stacking. Take care not to damage your flooring, pipes, wall coverings etc. when positioning it.

• Ensure the mains cable is not caught under the appliance during or after moving it to avoid it being cut or damaged.

If your refrigerator is unbalanced, you can balance it by turning its front legs. The corner where the leg is located is lowered when you turn in the direction of the black arrow (clockwise) and raised when you turn in the opposite direction (counter-clockwise). Having someone slightly lift the refrigerator will make this process easier.

When you operate your refrigerator for the first time, observe the following instructions during the initial six hours:

• The door should not be opened frequently.

• It must be operated empty without any food inside.

• Do not unplug it. If a power failure occurs, see the warnings in the troubleshooting section.

• Keep original packaging and foam materials for future transport.

• The baskets/drawers in the chill compartment must always be in use for low energy consumption and better storage.

• Avoid food contact with the temperature sensor in the freezer compartment to prevent increased energy consumption.

Your BEKO CRFG1582W is equipped with ‘Freezer Guard’. At the advised setting of [4 – four on the control], frozen food will not defrost even if the ambient temperature falls to -15°C. This allows installation in a garage or unheated room. However, at low ambient temperatures, fridge contents may freeze, so check them accordingly. When the ambient temperature returns to normal, you can change the setting.

To reverse the doors on your BEKO CRFG1582W refrigerator, you must proceed in the numerical order as shown in the diagram on page 13 of the user manual.

The operating temperature of your BEKO CRFG1582W is regulated by the temperature control knob.

• 1 = Lowest cooling setting (Warmest setting).

• 5 = Highest cooling setting (Coldest setting).

The average temperature inside the fridge should be around +5°C. Please choose the setting according to the desired temperature. Note that there will be different temperatures in the cooling area; the coldest region is immediately above the vegetable compartment. The interior temperature is also affected by ambient temperature, how often the door is opened, and the amount of food inside.

General food storage advice:

• The fridge compartment is for short-term storage of fresh food and drinks.

• Store milk products in the intended compartment.

• Bottles can be stored in the bottle holder or on the bottle shelf of the door.

• Raw meat is best kept in a polyethylene bag at the very bottom of the cooler/freezer.

• Allow hot foods and beverages to cool to room temperature before placing them inside.

• Store concentrated alcohol only standing upright and tightly closed.

• Do not store explosive substances or containers with flammable propellant gases (e.g., canned cream, spray cans) in the freezer due to the danger of explosion.

The appliance defrosts automatically. You should check regularly to see if the drain pipe is clogged and clear it with the stick provided in the hole when necessary.

• Never use gasoline, benzene, or similar substances for cleaning.

• It is recommended to unplug the appliance before cleaning.

• Never use any sharp abrasive instrument, soap, household cleaner, detergent, or wax polish.

• Use lukewarm water to clean the cabinet and wipe it dry.

• For the interior, use a damp cloth wrung out in a solution of one teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda to one pint of water, then wipe it dry.

• Ensure no water enters the lamp housing and other electrical items.

• If not using the refrigerator for a long period, unplug it, remove all food, clean it, and leave the door ajar.

• Check door seals regularly to ensure they are clean and free from food particles.

• To remove door racks, remove all contents and then simply push the door rack upwards from the base.

• Never use cleaning agents or water containing chlorine on the outer surfaces and chromium-coated parts. Chlorine causes corrosion on such metal surfaces.

• To protect plastic surfaces, do not put liquid oils or oil-cooked meals in your refrigerator in unsealed containers. If oil spills or smears on plastic surfaces, clean and rinse the relevant part at once with warm water.

If your BEKO CRFG1582W refrigerator is not working, check the following:

• The power plug may not be fully settled. Plug it in to settle completely into the socket.

• The fuse connected to the socket or the main fuse may have blown. Check the fuses.

Condensation can occur for several reasons:

• The door is opened too frequently. Try not to open the door too often.

• The environment is too humid. Do not install the product in humid environments.

• Foods containing liquids are kept in unsealed holders. Keep these foods in sealed holders.

• The product’s door is left open. Do not keep the door open for long periods.

• The thermostat is set to a very low temperature. Set the thermostat to an appropriate temperature.

• In case of a sudden power failure or if the power plug is pulled out and put back on, the gas pressure in the cooling system is not balanced, which triggers the compressor thermic safeguard. The product will restart after approximately 6 minutes. If it does not restart, contact the service.

• Defrosting is active. This is normal for a fully-automatic defrosting product and is carried out periodically.

• The product is not plugged in. Make sure the power cord is plugged in.

• The temperature setting is incorrect. Select the appropriate temperature setting.

• The power is out. The product will continue to operate normally once the power is restored.

• Your new product may be larger than the previous one, and larger products will run for longer periods.

• The room temperature may be high. The product will normally run for longer in a higher room temperature.

• The product may have been recently plugged in or a new food item was placed inside. It will take longer to reach the set temperature.

• Large quantities of hot food may have been recently placed into the product. Do not place hot food into the product.

• The doors were opened frequently or kept open for long periods. Do not open the doors too frequently.

• The freezer or cooler door may be ajar. Check that the doors are fully closed.

• The product may be set to a temperature that is too low. Set the temperature to a higher degree and wait for it to adjust.

• The door washer may be dirty, worn out, broken, or not properly settled. Clean or replace the washer.

The freezer compartment temperature is set to a very low degree. Set the freezer compartment temperature to a higher degree and check again.

The cooler compartment temperature is set to a very low degree. Set the cooler compartment temperature to a higher degree and check again.

The cooler compartment temperature is set to a very low degree. Set the temperature to a higher degree and check again.

• The cooler compartment temperature is set to a very high degree. The setting of the cooler compartment affects the temperature in the freezer. Change the temperature of the cooler or freezer compartments and wait until the temperature reaches a sufficient level.

• The doors were opened frequently or kept open for long periods. Do not open the doors too frequently.

• The door may be ajar. Fully close the door.

• The product may have been recently plugged in or a new food item was placed inside. This is normal; it will take longer to reach the set temperature.

• Large quantities of hot food may have been recently placed into the product. Do not place hot food into the product.

• The ground is not level or durable. If the product is shaking when moved slowly, adjust the stands to balance it. Ensure the ground is sufficiently durable to bear the product.

• Any items placed on the product may cause noise. Remove any items from on top of the product.

• The product may be making noise of liquid flowing or spraying. This is normal and relates to the operating principles involving liquid and gas flows.

• There may be a sound of wind blowing. The product uses a fan for the cooling process. This is normal.

• The interior may not be cleaned regularly. Clean the interior regularly using a sponge, warm water, and carbonated water.

• Certain holders and packaging materials may cause an odor. Use holders and packaging materials without any odor.

• Foods may have been placed in unsealed holders. Keep foods in sealed holders. Micro-organisms can spread from unsealed food and cause malodor. Remove any expired or spoiled foods.

• Food packages may be blocking the door. Relocate any items blocking the doors.

• The product is not standing in a full upright position on the ground. Adjust the stands to balance the product.

• The ground is not level or durable. Make sure the ground is level and sufficiently durable to bear the product.

Food items may be in contact with the upper section of the drawer. Reorganize the food items in the drawer.

High temperatures may be observed between the two doors, on the side panels, and at the rear grill while the product is operating. This is normal and does not require service maintenance. Be careful when touching these areas.
