To ensure your safety when using the BEKO BHCP65422BCH, please adhere to the following guidelines:

• This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the safe use of the appliance.

• Children should not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance should not be performed by children without supervision.

• **Risk of Toxicating!** While the appliance is operating, it draws air from the house. If ventilation is inadequate, waste and toxic gases from burning appliances (like wood, gas, oil, coal stoves, water heaters) can be drawn back into the house. Do not operate the hood with sources that emit toxic gases and create an air draught simultaneously. Always have authorized persons check the adequacy of ventilation and chimney draught in your building.

• Installation and repair procedures must always be performed by an Authorised Service Agent.

• Do not operate the appliance if it is defective or has visible damage.

• Ensure the appliance is switched off after every use.

• The appliance must be installed by a qualified person in accordance with the regulations in force to avoid voiding the warranty.

• Before use, ensure the installation location and electrical wiring are prepared. Contact an Authorised Service agent for installation.

• If the product fails, do not operate it. It must be repaired by an Authorised Service Agent to avoid the risk of electric shock.

• Never connect the hood before installation is complete.

• Do not touch the plug with wet hands. Always unplug by holding the plug, not pulling the cable.

• The product must be disconnected from the mains during installation, maintenance, cleaning, and repair procedures.

• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or a similarly qualified person.

• If your product has a plug, do not cut it off to connect it to the electrical supply during installation, as this will void the warranty and can create safety risks.

• The height between the lower surface of the hood and the upper surface of the hob must not be less than 650 mm.

• Never touch the hood’s lamp after it has been operating for a long time, as hot lamps can burn you.

• Never operate the product without the oil filter. Do not remove filters while the product is in use.

• Avoid large flames beneath the product, as particles on the oil filter may ignite.

• Turn on the hobs only after placing pans or pots on them to prevent heat from deforming parts of the hood.

• Turn off the hobs before removing pans or pots.

• Do not expose the product to open flames beneath it. Do not operate without a filter.

• Never leave the cooker unattended when frying foods, as the oil may ignite.

• A risk of fire exists if the hood is not cleaned periodically and properly.

• For refreshing the kitchen’s air from cooking smells, run the hood for an additional 15 minutes after you have finished cooking or frying.

• There must be adequate ventilation in the room when the range hood is used at the same time as appliances burning gas or other fuels (not applicable to appliances that only discharge air back into the room).

• In the environment of use, the exhaust of fuel oil or gas devices (e.g., room heater) must be insulated or of a hermetical type.

• When a non-electrically operated device is used concurrently with the hood, the negative pressure in the room must be a maximum of 0.04 mbar to prevent the hood from returning the other device’s exhaust into the room.

• Never connect the hood to chimneys used for heaters, waste gas, or rising flames. Use 120-mm diameter pipes for chimney connection, keeping the connection as short as possible with fewer bends.

• Do not hang easily flammable materials on the hood handles.

• There should be no open fire (e.g., flambé) under the hood.

• Caution: Accessible parts may become hot when used with a cooking appliance.

• It is recommended to clean your filter once a month under normal use.

Installation requires a qualified electrician and fitter. Ensure electrical installations are ready before calling an Authorised Service Agent.

Important Pre-installation Checks:

• There should be a minimum clearance of 650 mm between the top surface of the hob and the bottom surface of the hood.

• The air extracted by the hood should not be connected to a chimney used by other appliances burning gas or other fuels.

• Regulations on air exhaust must be followed.

• Remove the styrofoam (marked X in the manual’s diagram) from between the body and the engine before installation.

Electrical Connection:

This device has a 2-track power cable and must be connected to the mains by an electrical switch with at least 3mm clearance between bipolar contact leads. This should be done by a qualified electrician.

Mounting the Hood:

1. Center the cooking appliance and draw a vertical axis line on the wall up to 950mm in height. Draw two parallel lines 90mm from each side of the axis line, reaching to the ceiling.

2. Determine hole locations by drawing lines Y-J-X2 and X1 that cut the axis line vertically, using the measurements provided in the installation diagrams.

3. Drill eight 8mm holes at points X, Y, X2, and X1. Insert the supplied plastic plugs.

4. Fix connectors (C) to holes X1 and X2 with two fixing screws. Screw the distance ring (D) onto the Y hole with the small-diameter side facing the wall.

5. Install the hood from the keyhole on the back plate onto the distance ring and pull it downward to secure it. Then, screw the body to the wall from holes J1 and J2. For extra security, also use a screw in hole J3.

6. Place the chimney outlet flange (E) onto the rectangular outlet on the upper part of the hood and screw it onto the body using the supplied 2.9-mm screws.

In this mode, absorbed air passes through oil filters to the outlet, then through connection pipes to the chimney, and is finally expelled outside.

1. Install the 150mm to 120mm E connector on the chimney outlet flange.

2. Connect the chimney pipe. The pipe’s diameter should equal the connection ring. The pipe should be made of fireproof plastic material.

3. For horizontal arrangements, the pipe should be slightly tilted upwards (approx. 10°) to allow air to exit easily.

4. If a carbon filter is installed, remove it for chimney-connected use.

5. To install the chimney, secure the upper corners of the upper chimney (A) to the connection (C) and screw it on. Stretch the lower chimney (B) slightly and secure it onto the upper chimney’s slots.

This mode is used when there is no chimney. Air is filtered through oil and carbon filters and then returned to the room.

1. Install the air directing component on point H as shown in the installation diagram.

2. Place the ear slots of the carbon filters (L) onto the ears on the motor carrier (M) and turn anti-clockwise to fix them in place. Repeat for the other side.

To install a carbon filter:

1. Remove the aluminum filters.

2. Center the carbon filter over the plastic parts on both sides of the fan body and secure it in the tabs.

3. Tighten the filter by turning it.

4. Re-install the aluminum filters.

The control panel has the following buttons:

• 0: Off button

• 1: Speed 1

• 2: Speed 2

• 3: Speed 3

• Lamp button

Operating the Hood:

Press the relevant speed button (1, 2, or 3) to operate the hood. Use low speeds for normal conditions and high speeds when smell and vapors are intense. Never press two speed buttons at the same time; the higher speed will be activated.

Turning Off the Hood:

Press the ‘0’ (Off) button when the hood is operating.

Operating the Lamp:

Press the lamp button to turn the lamp on. Press it again to turn it off. The ‘0’ button does not turn off the lamp; it only stops the hood’s fan operation.

General Cleaning:

• Disconnect the product from the mains supply before starting maintenance.

• Clean the product thoroughly after each use to remove cooking residues.

• Use warm water with washing liquid and a soft cloth or sponge. Wipe it dry afterward.

• Do not use cleaning agents containing acid or chloride on stainless steel surfaces. Use a soft cloth with a non-abrasive liquid detergent, wiping in one direction.

• Do not use aggressive detergents, cleaning powders/creams, or sharp objects.

• Do not use steam cleaners.

Aluminum Filter:

This filter captures oil particles. It is recommended to clean it once a month in normal use.

1. Push the aluminum filter lock forward.

2. Slightly lower the filter and pull it forward. Be careful not to bend it.

3. Wash the filters in liquid-detergent water or in a dishwasher. Note that aluminum filters might change color over time due to washing; this is normal and they do not need to be replaced.

4. After washing and drying, re-install the filter by reversing the removal steps.

Carbon Filter (For use without chimney):

• The carbon filter should never be washed.

• It should be replaced once every 4 months in normal use. You can obtain carbon filters from an Authorised Service.

To remove the carbon filter:

1. Remove the aluminum filters.

2. Turn the carbon filter to release it from the tab.

To install a new carbon filter:

1. Install the new carbon filter.

2. Re-install the aluminum filters.

Before replacing the lamp, ensure the product is disconnected from the mains to avoid electrical shock. If the lamp is hot, let it cool down first.

1. Remove the old lamp by pressing it towards its seat (direction 1) and then turning it counterclockwise (direction 2).

2. Insert the new lamp by turning it in a clockwise direction.

3. A “click” sound will indicate that the lamp is securely in place.

Use only self-shielded tungsten halogen lamps or self-shielded metal halide lamps.

If your cooker hood does not operate, check the following:

• The mains fuse may be defective or has tripped. Check the fuses in your fuse box and replace or reset them if necessary.

• The product may not be plugged into the socket. Check the plug connection.

• The speed button might not be set. Press the required speed button.

• There may be a power cut. Check if there is power. Check the fuses in the fuse box and replace or reset them if needed.

If the hood light does not work, please check the following:

• The hood lamp may be defective. Replace the hood lamp.

• There may be a power cut. Check if there is power. Check the fuses in your fuse box and replace or reset them if necessary.
