When using the BABYLISS C112E, please follow these safety precautions:

• Always read the safety instructions first.

• WARNING! Take care to avoid the hot surface of the appliance coming into direct contact with the skin, in particular the eyes, ears, face and neck.

• WARNING! Do not touch the hot plates or metal parts of the appliance while it is hot.

To use your BABYLISS C112E, please follow these steps:

1. Ensure your hair is dry and combed through to remove any tangles.

2. Press the button marked ‘I/0’ for 1-2 seconds to switch the appliance on. The ‘Cool air function’ indicator light ‘*’ will illuminate and a slight audible sound will be heard from the fan. The fan will run continuously during use.

3. The heat indicator light marked ‘~’ will start to flash, and the appliance will automatically begin heating to the lowest setting.

4. To select a heat setting, press the ‘I/0’ button once, twice, or 3 times. The heat indicator light will flash until the selected setting is reached, at which point it will remain solid in colour.

5. To activate the Cool air function, slide the switch on the top of the handle so the dot on the switch is aligned with the ‘*’ icon. Cold air will be released from the vents surrounding the plates.

6. If you do not wish to use the Cool air function, simply slide the switch back.

7. Place a section of hair between the straightening plates, close to the roots.

8. Hold the hair firmly between the plates and slide down the length of the hair from root to tip.

9. Repeat this process for each section of hair.

10. Allow the hair to cool before combing through.

11. After use, press and hold the ‘I/0’ button for 2-3 seconds to switch off and then unplug the appliance.

12. Allow the appliance to cool before storing it away.

13. For easier storage, you can lock the plates in the closed position by sliding the switch located on the underside of the handle.

If you have delicate, fine, bleached or coloured hair, use the lower heat settings on your BABYLISS C112E. For thicker hair, use the higher heat settings. It is recommended to perform a test on initial use, starting on the lowest setting and increasing the temperature until you achieve the desired result. To select a heat setting, press the ‘I/0’ button until you reach your desired temperature.

The available temperature settings are:

I = 160°C

II = 180°C

III = 200°C

The BABYLISS C112E features an advanced cool air system that activates as soon as the appliance is switched on. A fan generates a flow of cool air that is released from a channel surrounding the heated straightening plates. To use the cool air function, slide the switch on the top of the handle so the dot aligns with the ‘*’ icon. This opens the vents to release the cool air, which helps set your style for a long-lasting finish.

Yes, for added safety, the BABYLISS C112E is equipped with an automatic shut-off feature. If the appliance is left on for more than 60 minutes continuously, it will automatically switch off. To continue using it, simply press and hold the ‘I/0’ button for 2-3 seconds to turn the power back on.

The BABYLISS C112E has an ionic function that releases conditioning ions to smooth the hair and eliminate frizz as you style.

The BABYLISS C112E comes with a heat mat for use during and after styling. During use, do not place the appliance on any heat-sensitive surface, even when using the provided heat mat. After use, switch off and unplug the appliance. Immediately wrap the appliance in the heat mat and allow it to cool down completely before storing.

To keep your BABYLISS C112E in the best possible condition, follow these maintenance steps:

• Switch off, unplug, and allow the appliance to cool completely.

• Wipe the outside of the appliance with a damp cloth. Ensure that no water enters the appliance.

• Wipe the plates using a soft, damp cloth.

• Do not wrap the power lead around the appliance. Instead, coil the lead loosely by the side of the appliance when storing.

• Always store the appliance out of the reach of children.
