If the AVANTI WCR8500SDZ is junked or abandoned, remove the door and leave the shelves in place so that children may not easily climb inside.

It is recommended you install the AVANTI WCR8500SDZ appliance in a place where the ambient temperature is between 72-78 degrees Fahrenheit. If the ambient temperature is above or below recommended temperatures, the performance of the unit may be affected. The AVANTI WCR8500SDZ wine chiller is designed to operate with a range of 45° – 65° F (7 – 19°C).

Recommended Temperatures for Chilling Wine in the AVANTI WCR8500SDZ:

To turn ON or OFF the AVANTI WCR8500SDZ appliance, press the Power ON / OFF Button (J) and hold for 3 seconds.

You can press the Upper Zone Temperature Up Button (1) or (A) and Upper Zone Temperature Down Button (2) or (▽) buttons/marks to control the internal temperature for the upper zone of the AVANTI WCR8500SDZ.

You can press the Lower Zone Temperature Up Button (6) or (A) and Lower Zone Temperature Down Button (>) or (▽) buttons/marks to control the internal temperature for the lower zone of the AVANTI WCR8500SDZ.

The temperature that you desire to set will increase 1°F or 1°C if you push the UP (A) button/mark once, on the contrary the temperature will decrease 1°F or 1°C if you push the DOWN (▽) button/mark once.

If the AVANTI WCR8500SDZ unit is unplugged, power lost, or turned off, you must wait 3 to 5 minutes before restarting the unit. If you attempt to restart before this time delay, the Wine Chiller will not start.

When you use the AVANTI WCR8500SDZ for the first time or restart the wine chiller after having been shut off for a long time, there could be a few degrees variance between the temperature you select and the one indicated on the LED readout. This is normal and it is due to the length of the activation time. Once the wine chiller is running for a few hours everything will be back to normal.

You can turn the interior light on or off for the AVANTI WCR8500SDZ by pushing the Upper Zone Light ON / OFF Button (4) for the upper zone, or the Lower Zone Light ON / OFF Button (S) for the lower zone.

The AVANTI WCR8500SDZ is equipped with an automatic Control panel lock function. This function will prevent any unwanted changes to your temperature or power settings.

The lock function will activate automatically 12 seconds after the last time a button is pushed on the control panel.

To unlock the control panel lock on the AVANTI WCR8500SDZ, press and hold the Upper Zone Temperature Up Button (1) or (A) and the Lower Zone Temperature Down Button (>) or (▽) buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. The control panel will beep once indicating that the control panel is active and the settings can be changed.

The AVANTI WCR8500SDZ unit is provided with a lock and key combination.

Insert the key into the lock and turn it counterclockwise to lock the door.

To lock the door, do the reverse operation making sure the metal pin is engaged completely. Remove the key and place it in a secure place for safekeeping.

The AVANTI WCR8500SDZ appliance is equipped with wired shelves that you can move out and in smoothly.

To prevent damaging the door gasket, make sure to have the door all the way opened when pulling the bottom shelf out of the rail compartment.

For easy access to the storage content, you can pull the shelf approximately 100% out of the rail compartment; however, this unit was designed with a stopper on each side of the shelf track to prevent bottles from falling.

When removing the shelf out of the inner rail, make sure to remove all items first. Then pull the shelf until it is stopped by the stopper, and then lift the shelf.

In order to replace the shelf on the AVANTI WCR8500SDZ, repeat steps described above in reverse.

Turn off the power, unplug the AVANTI WCR8500SDZ appliance, and remove all items including shelves.

Wash the inside surfaces with a warm water and baking soda solution. The solution should be about 2 tablespoons of baking soda to a quart of water.

Wash the shelves with a mild detergent solution.

Wring excess water out of the sponge or cloth when cleaning area of the controls, or any electrical parts.

Wash the outside cabinet with warm water and mild liquid detergent. Rinse well and wipe dry with a clean soft cloth.

Do not use steel wool or steel brush on the stainless steel of the AVANTI WCR8500SDZ. These will contaminate the stainless steel with steel particles and rusting may occur.

Most power failures are corrected within a few hours and should not affect the temperature of your AVANTI WCR8500SDZ appliance if you minimize the number of times the door is opened.

If the power is going to be off for a longer period of time, you need to take the proper steps to protect your contents.

Remove all items from the AVANTI WCR8500SDZ.

Securely tape down all loose items (shelves) inside your appliance.

Tape the door shut.

The rattling noise may come from the flow of the refrigerant, which is normal.

As each cycle ends, you may hear gurgling sounds caused by the flow of refrigerant in your Wine Chiller.

Contraction and expansion of the inside walls may cause popping and crackling noises.

The door is misaligned.

The gasket is dirty.

The shelves are out of position.

Display flashes Error message “E0” on the AVANTI WCR8500SDZ indicates a Connection failure – there is a wire or component that is not connected correctly. Contact the Avanti Service Department.

Display flashes Error message “E1” on the AVANTI WCR8500SDZ indicates a Temperature sensor failure. Contact the Avanti Service Department.

Display flashes Error message “E2” on the AVANTI WCR8500SDZ indicates a Defrost sensor (Coil Sensor) failure. Contact the Avanti Service Department.

Display flashes Error message “HH” on the AVANTI WCR8500SDZ means the Temperature of inner cabinet is over 99°F / 37°C.

Display flashes Error message “LL” on the AVANTI WCR8500SDZ means the Temperature of inner cabinet is under 32°F / 0°C.

The interior light on the AVANTI WCR8500SDZ is controlled manually and does not function automatically when opening or closing the door. To turn the light on or off, press the Interior Light button marked (4) or (S) depending on the zone, which is located on the control panel.

The AVANTI WCR8500SDZ unit is equipped with a lock and key combination.

To open the door, insert the key into the lock and turn it counterclockwise.

To close the door, turn the key to the right. Remove the key and place it in a secure location to prevent it from being lost.

The AVANTI WCR8500SDZ Wine Chiller is designed with an automatic defrost system (“automatic cycle”).

The refrigerated surfaces of the wine compartment defrost automatically during the “off” cycle of the cooling control (thermostat).

The thawed water from the compartment is automatically drained into a drip pan located in the compressor area. The heat transfer from the compressor evaporates the water.

Beverages should be stored in closed bottles.

Do not overload the interior compartment of the AVANTI WCR8500SDZ.

Do not open the door unless necessary.

If the wine cellar will be stored unused for long periods, it is suggested that after careful cleaning, the door be left ajar to allow air to circulate inside the box and prevent possible formation of condensation, mold, or odors.

Never cover the shelves of the wine compartment with aluminum foil or any other shelf covering material that may obstruct air circulation in the AVANTI WCR8500SDZ.
