Before using your AVANTI G2407CB for the first time, please follow these steps:

1. Remove all exterior and interior packing materials, including the protective film on steel and aluminum parts.

2. Check to ensure you have all the parts, including the backsplash, LP Gas Conversion Packet, anti-tip bracket, 4 leveling legs, 2 cooking grids, 2 oven racks, 4 caps and bases for the burner assembly, 5 burner knobs, a broiler tray, and a regulator.

3. Clean the interior surface with lukewarm water using a soft cloth.

4. It is mandatory to assemble the backsplash, as it also serves as the oven vent. To do this, screw the two (2) screws “A” into the appropriate holes on each side of the backsplash, and screw the central screw in the middle portion of the backsplash.

5. To prepare the oven, clean the interior with a cloth soaked in water and a neutral detergent, then dry carefully. Insert the shelves and tray.

6. Turn the oven on to the maximum temperature (550°F) to eliminate any possible traces of grease from the oven burner. Follow the same procedure for the broiler burner (knob on BROIL position).

7. Have a qualified installer show you the location of the range’s gas shut-off valve and how to shut it off if necessary.

8. Ensure the range is installed and properly grounded by a qualified installer.

To reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock, or injury when using your AVANTI G2407CB, follow these basic precautions:

• Do not use this appliance for space heating. This is based on safety considerations.

• All openings in the wall behind the appliance and in the floor under it must be sealed.

• Keep the appliance area clear and free from combustible materials, gasoline, and other flammable vapors.

• Do not obstruct the flow of ventilation air.

• Disconnect the electrical supply to the appliance before servicing.

• Do not misuse the oven door (e.g., stepping, sitting, or leaning on it) as it can result in potential hazards and/or injuries.

• Level the appliance properly to ensure it works correctly.

• Never allow children to operate, play with, or crawl inside the appliance.

• This appliance is intended for household use. Do not use it for any other purpose.

• After use, ensure that the knobs are in the OFF position.

• Do not allow children or other unqualified people to use the appliance without supervision.

• During and after use, certain parts will become very hot. Do not touch hot parts and keep children away from the range when it is in use.

• Do not store flammable material in the oven or in the bottom drawer.

• Do not line the oven walls, top, or bottom with aluminum foil. Do not place shelves, pans, or other cooking utensils on the base of the oven chamber.

• Stand away from the range when opening the oven door. Hot air or steam which escapes can cause burns.

• Never clean the oven with a high-pressure steam cleaning device, as it may cause a short circuit.

If you smell gas, follow these instructions exactly:

• Do not try to light any appliance.

• Do not touch any electrical switch; do not use any phone in your building.

• Immediately call your gas supplier from a neighbor’s phone. Follow the gas supplier’s instructions.

• If you cannot reach your gas supplier, call the fire department.

Installation and service must be performed by a qualified installer, service agency, or the gas supplier.

Gas flow to the burners is adjusted by turning the control knobs. The symbols on the panel indicate the function:

• OFF: Closed valve

• ☆ (HI): Maximum rate for rapid boiling

• LO: Minimum rate for simmering or keeping food warm

To light a burner:

1. Turn the knob counter-clockwise to the ☆ (HI) position. Push in and hold the knob until the flame has been lit. The built-in electric lighter will produce sparks to light the flame.

2. Adjust the knob to the desired flame setting.

To re-light a burner, return the knob to the OFF position and repeat the lighting procedure.

CAUTION: If a burner is accidentally extinguished, turn the gas off at the control knob and wait at least 1 minute before attempting to relight.

When the range is not in use, set the gas knobs to their OFF positions and close the main gas supply shut-off valve.

It is important to match the pan diameter to the burner to ensure efficiency and avoid wasting gas. Do not use pans with concave or convex bases.

Also, make sure that the handles of cookware do not stick out over the edge of the range to avoid them being knocked over by accident. This also makes it more difficult for children to reach the cooking vessels.

The surface burners on your AVANTI G2407CB range from 3,000 BTU to 8,600 BTU on a natural gas installation under 2,000 feet above sea level. For every 1,000 feet of additional altitude, the burner strength is de-rated by 4%.

To light the oven burner, you must operate as follows:

1. Open the oven door to its full extent. WARNING: Risk of explosion! The oven door must be open during this operation.

2. Lightly press and turn the oven temperature control knob counter-clockwise to the desired temperature or max position (550°F).

3. Press the knob completely down to prime the electric ignition. A “Bi, Bi” sound will be heard. Keep the knob pressed until the oven burner is lit.

4. If there is a power cut, press the knob and immediately approach a lighted match to the opening “A” at the bottom of the oven.

5. Do not continue this operation for more than 15 seconds. If the burner has not ignited, wait for about 1 minute before repeating the ignition.

6. After the burner lights, continue to hold the knob for 10-15 seconds to prime the safety valve, especially if the oven has not been used for a long time.

7. Close the oven door slowly and adjust the burner to the required setting.

If the flame extinguishes, the safety valve will automatically shut off the gas supply. To re-light, turn the knob to OFF, wait at least 1 minute, and repeat the lighting procedure.

VERY IMPORTANT: The oven must always be used with the door closed.

The numbers on the control knob correspond to the following temperatures:

To light the broil burner, follow these steps:

1. Open the oven door to its full extent. WARNING: Risk of explosion! The oven door must be open during this operation.

2. Lightly press and turn the oven control knob clockwise to the BROIL position.

3. Press the knob completely down to prime the electric ignition. A “Bi, Bi” sound will be heard. Keep the knob pressed until the broil burner is lit.

4. If there is a power cut, press the knob and put a lighted match to the right and left side of the burner.

5. Do not continue this operation for more than 15 seconds. If the burner has still not ignited, wait about 1 minute before repeating.

6. After the burner lights, continue to hold the knob for about 15 seconds to prime the safety valve.

7. Close the oven door slowly.

To Broil:

1. The broil burner must always be used with the oven door closed.

2. Position the shelf on the second level from the top (Broiling level).

3. Turn on the broil burner and let it preheat for about 5 minutes with the door closed.

4. Place the food to be cooked on the broiling pan.

5. Introduce the broiling pan into the oven. It should be placed on the shelf and centered under the broil burner.

Important: Never obstruct the oven vent slots on the backsplash. Do not broil without using the broiling pan. Always use suitable protective gloves when handling hot items in the oven.

Before any cleaning, disconnect the appliance from the electrical supply. It’s best to clean when the appliance is cold.

• General: Avoid leaving alkaline or acidic substances (like lemon juice or vinegar) on the surfaces. Avoid using cleaning products with a chlorine or acidic base.

• Enameled Parts: Clean with a sponge and soapy water or other non-abrasive products. Dry with a chamois leather. Acidic substances can etch the enamel if left for a long time.

• Stainless Steel Elements: Rinse with water and dry with a soft, clean cloth or chamois leather. For difficult dirt, use a specific non-abrasive product or a little hot vinegar.

• Inside of Oven: Clean regularly. With the oven warm, wipe the inside walls with a cloth soaked in very hot soapy water or another suitable product. The oven can also be cleaned by operating it for 30 minutes on the highest temperature to reduce most grime to ashes.

• Burners and Grids: These parts can be removed and cleaned with appropriate products. After cleaning, the burners and their flame distributors must be well dried and correctly replaced. Ensure the burner flame spreader “F” and cap “C” are correctly positioned. For models with electric ignition, keep the electrode “S” clean to ensure trouble-free sparking.

To facilitate oven cleaning, you can remove the door. Follow these instructions carefully:

1. Open the door to its full extent.

2. Attach the retaining rings to the hooks on the left and right hinges.

3. Hold the door as shown in the manual’s diagram.

4. Gently close the door and withdraw the lower hinge pins from their location.

5. Withdraw the upper hinge pins from their location.

6. Rest the door on a soft surface.

To replace the door, repeat the above steps in reverse order.

The internal glass of the oven door can also be removed for cleaning by unscrewing the two lateral fixing screws.

The storage drawer comes out like a normal drawer. To remove it completely for cleaning, pull it out until it stops, then lift it up. Never store any flammable material in the drawer.

Before starting, disconnect the appliance from the power supply.

1. Let the oven cavity and broil burner cool down.

2. Switch off the electric supply.

3. Remove the protective cover.

4. Unscrew and replace the bulb with a new one suitable for high temperature (200°F – 550°C) with the following specifications: 120V 60Hz, 15W, E14.

5. Replace the protective cover.

The range must be level for proper operation. The four screw-type leveling legs at the bottom corners of the range can be adjusted. Turn them clockwise to make the range higher or counter-clockwise to lower it. Use a level placed on the surface units to check if the range is level.

If the surface burners do not light, check the following possible causes:

• Surface control not completely turned ON: Push in and turn the control to the ON position until the burner ignites, then turn it to the desired flame setting.

• Burner ports are clogged: Use a small gauge wire or needle to open the ports.

• Burners not positioned properly: Verify that the burners are positioned correctly on the orifice hoods and are sitting flat on the burner support with tabs engaged in slots.

• Range not set for appropriate gas input: See the range conversion section of the installation manual.

• Pilot lights won’t light due to power failure (if applicable): Light pilots manually.

• Range power cord is disconnected: Be sure the power cord is plugged into a grounded outlet.

If the flame burns only halfway around the burner, check these potential issues:

• Burner ports are clogged: Use a small gauge wire or needle to open the ports.

• Moisture is present after cleaning: Lightly fan the flame and allow the burner to operate until the flame is full. Alternatively, dry the burners thoroughly following the instructions in the “Cleaning” section.

An orange flame could be due to:

• Dust particles in the main line: Allow the burner to operate for a few minutes until the flame turns blue.

• Range is not set for the appropriate gas input: See the range conversion section of the installation manual.

If the oven light does not work, the bulb may be burned out or loose. Try tightening or replacing the oven light bulb.

If the oven or broiler does not heat, check the following:

• Range not set for appropriate gas input: See the range conversion section of the installation manual.

• Temperature control not set properly: Make sure the temperature control is set to the desired temperature.

• Pilot light will not light due to power failure (if applicable): Light pilots manually.

• House fuse has blown or circuit breaker has tripped: Check/reset the circuit breaker or replace the fuse. Do not increase fuse capacity. If it’s a circuit overload, have it corrected by a qualified electrician.

• Range cord is disconnected from outlet: Be sure the power cord is plugged into a grounded outlet.

If you believe the oven temperature is inaccurate, consider these causes:

• Oven capillary bulb not positioned properly: Verify that the capillary bulb is snapped in clips straight and is not touching the sides or coated with oven cleaner or food.

• Temperature control not set properly: Make sure the temperature control knob is set at the desired temperature.

• Improper use of foil: Keep foil clear of holes in the oven bottom and off of the oven sides.

Smoke or an odor during the first few uses of the oven is normal. It is caused by the burning off of manufacturing oils. If the problem persists, check if the vent is blocked. Keep the vent on the backsplash clear.

If your range is not level, it can affect cooking performance. Here are some solutions:

• Poor installation: Place an oven rack in the center of the oven and place a level on the rack. Adjust the leveling legs at the bottom of the range until it is level.

• Weak or unstable floor: Be sure the floor is level and can adequately support the range. You may need to contact a carpenter to correct a sagging or sloping floor.

• Kitchen cabinet misalignment: This may make the range appear unlevel. Be sure cabinets are square and have sufficient room for range clearance. Contact a cabinet maker to correct the problem.

Excessive smoke from the oven is often due to broiling issues:

• Meat too close to broiler burner: Reposition the broiler pan to provide more clearance between the meat and the broiler burner.

• Meat not prepared properly: Remove excess fat from the meat before cooking.
