To care for the non-removable battery in the AT&T VERGE 2 5G, follow these guidelines:

Storage: Avoid storing or leaving the phone with no charge remaining. Saved information and settings may be lost or changed, or the battery may become unusable. Charge once every six months if storing or leaving unused for a long period of time.

Critical Battery Level: The phone will power off automatically when the battery is too low. If the battery is critically low, the phone may need a few minutes to build a charge before turning back on. Playing games or performing other activities while charging may drain the battery and cause it to power off.

Usage: Use the power adapter that comes with your phone; using other adapters may damage your phone.

Disposal: Do not attempt to remove the battery for danger of explosion. The battery is non-removable.

Follow these steps to charge the AT&T VERGE 2 5G using the included AC adapter:

Step 1. Connect one end of the data cable to the USB port located on the bottom of your phone.

Step 2. Connect the other end of the data cable to the power adapter.

Step 3. Connect the power adapter to an electrical outlet to fully charge your phone.

Note: Charging your phone with a USB cable connected to a laptop will take longer than with the power adapter.

To insert a Nano SIM or microSD card:

Step 1. Insert the SIM pin tool (included) into the small hole on the SIM card tray and press until the tray ejects. Remove the SIM card tray.

Step 2. Place the Nano SIM card and/or microSD card (sold separately) into the tray.

Step 3. Gently slide the card tray back into the slot.

To safely remove or unmount an SD card:

Step 1. Swipe up from the Home screen to access Apps and tap Settings.

Step 2. Tap Storage and select SD card from the drop-down menu.

Step 3. Tap Menu (three dots) in the top right-hand corner and select Eject.

Step 4. Once unmounted, use the SIM pin tool to eject the tray and remove the card.

To turn the phone on:

Step 1. Press and hold the Power key until the device turns on.

To turn the phone off:

Step 1. Press and hold the Power key along with the Volume up key.

Step 2. Tap Power off.

To restart the phone:

Step 1. Press and hold the Power key along with the Volume up key.

Step 2. Tap Restart.

Note: You can also press and hold the Power key for 10 seconds to restart the phone automatically if it is unresponsive.

To capture a screenshot of your current screen, press and hold the Power key and Volume down key at the same time.

Your screenshots will be stored in the Screenshots folder in the Gallery app. You can also view them by going to Photos > Library > Screenshots.

Alternatively, you can tap the Recent Apps button and tap Screenshot to capture the screen.

To control app permissions:

Step 1. Swipe up to access Apps and tap Settings.

Step 2. Tap Apps > Special app access.

Step 3. Select a category and tap the app you want to modify permissions for.

Step 4. Slide the switch to the On or Off position to allow or deny access.

To set default apps (web browser, phone, etc.):

Step 1. Go to Settings > Apps.

Step 2. Tap Default apps.

Step 3. Choose your default web browser, phone app, messaging app, and more.

Step 1. From the Home screen, swipe up to access Apps and tap Settings.

Step 2. Tap About phone.

Step 3. You will see Phone number. Tap on it to show info and the phone number will appear.

To make a standard call:

Step 1. From the Home screen, tap Phone.

Step 2. Select an option: Tap the Keypad to enter a number manually, choose a recently called contact in Recents, choose a saved contact in Contacts, or choose a favorite contact in Favorites.

Step 3. Tap the Call button to initiate the call.

To make a call with Wi-Fi Calling:

Step 1. Ensure Wi-Fi Calling is enabled in Settings > Network & internet > Wi-Fi Calling.

Step 2. From the Home screen, tap Phone.

Step 3. If the keypad does not appear, tap Keypad to open it. Enter a phone number.

Step 4. Tap the Call button to make the call. Wi-Fi Calling service must be activated on the device before it can be used.

While you are on an active call, the following on-screen options are available:

Step 1. Connect your phone to your computer using the included USB charging cable.

Step 2. Drag the Status bar down to display the Notification panel. Tap “Charging this device via USB.”

Step 3. Under “Use USB for,” select “File Transfer.”

Step 4. On your computer, navigate to the detected device (usually in the My Computer menu) and open it.

Step 5. Select a drive (Internal shared storage or SD card) and copy files from the computer to your phone or vice versa.

Step 6. When completed, disconnect the phone from your computer.

Step 1. Swipe up to access Apps and tap Settings > Connected devices.

Step 2. Tap Pair new device.

Step 3. Nearby devices will appear under “Available devices.” Ensure the target device is in pairing mode.

Step 4. Tap the name of the device you want to pair with and follow the on-screen instructions.

To unpair a device: Go to Settings > Connected devices, tap the Settings (gear) icon next to the device name, and tap Forget > Forget Device.

To take a photo:

Step 1. Open the Camera app. (Tip: You can also press the Power key twice quickly to open the camera).

Step 2. Tap Photo to ensure you are in photo mode.

Step 3. Aim the camera at your subject and tap the Capture button (large circle) to take the photo.

To record a video:

Step 1. Open the Camera app and tap Video.

Step 2. Aim the camera and tap the Record button (red circle) to start recording.

Step 3. Tap the Stop button (red square) to end the recording and save your video.

Available camera modes include: HDR, AI, Filters, Beauty, Portrait, Night Mode, Pro Mode, Panorama, UHD, Slow Motion, and Time Lapse.

If the AT&T VERGE 2 5G freezes or is unstable, try the following solutions:

Solution 1: Restart the device. Press and hold the Power key along with the Volume up key, then tap Restart.

Solution 2: Use Safe Mode. If the phone freezes after installing a new app, press and hold the Power key and Volume up key, then touch and hold “Power off.” Read the disclaimer for Safe mode and tap OK. “Safe mode” will appear at the bottom left corner. Uninstall the problematic app. To exit, restart the phone normally.

Solution 3: If the phone will not unlock, ensure you have entered your pattern/PIN/password correctly. If still unresponsive, perform a forced restart by pressing and holding the Power key for 10 seconds.
