The touch controls on your ASKO HID965GC induction hob are designed for ease of use. Follow these tips for the best results:

• Place the tip of your finger flat on the control. You do not need to apply any pressure.

• The touch sensors react only to the light pressure of a fingertip. Do not use other objects to operate the controls.

• The cooking hob is operated by a slider. You can touch a selected part of the slider or slide your finger in a circular motion to adjust the power level and temperature. Clockwise increases the level, and anti-clockwise decreases it.

• To set a cooking zone’s power level, touch the desired spot on its slider. The selected power level will appear on the cooking zone display, and the selected part of the slider will be fully lit.

Your ASKO HID965GC induction hob features a smart power management system to ensure that the maximum permissible power is not exceeded for safety.

• The system automatically distributes power across the cooking zones. If you increase the power level on one zone, the hob might automatically decrease the power on another zone to stay within the limit.

• When the power level of one or more zones is automatically reduced, the relevant control element will flash to indicate this.

• If a zone is being used for Celsius°Cooking™, it will always have the highest priority for power.

• The current limiter setting, which must be set by a qualified installer, determines the total available power and can affect how often the power management system intervenes.

Induction cooking on your ASKO HID965GC requires pans of a particular quality. Use only pans suitable for induction cooking with a thick, flat base (minimum 2.25 mm). Pans previously used on a gas hob are no longer suitable.

To check if your pans are suitable, use a magnet. If the magnet is sufficiently attracted to the base of the pan, it is suitable for induction cooking.

Suitable Pans:

• Special stainless steel pans

• Class Induction pans

• Hard-wearing enamelled pans

• Enamelled cast-iron pans

Unsuitable Pans:

• Earthenware

• Stainless steel (if not magnetic)

• Porcelain

• Copper

• Plastic

• Aluminium

Warning for enamelled sheet-steel pans: Be careful as the enamel may chip if the hob is switched on at a high setting when the pan is dry. The base may also warp due to overheating. Always heat up enamelled pans slowly.

Never use pans with a misshapen, hollow, or rounded base, as this can interfere with the overheating protection and may lead to the glass top cracking or the pan base melting.

It is normal to hear certain noises during the operation of your ASKO HID965GC induction hob.

• A ticking sound: This can occur at lower power level settings or may be caused by the automatic pot detection function.

• Pans making noise: Some pans may make noise during cooking due to the energy flowing from the hob to the pan. This is normal and will not damage the pans or the hob.

• The fan is making noise: The appliance is equipped with cooling fans to protect the electronics. During intense use, a fan will activate, creating a buzzing sound. The fan may continue to run for several minutes after the hob has been switched off to cool down the components.

The following table provides a guideline for using the power level settings on your ASKO HID965GC. The ideal setting can vary depending on the quantity and composition of the food.

Touch the on/off key to switch on the hob. A short beep will sound. The rings on all sliders will light up and then gradually fade. A slider will only remain lit on cooking zones where a pan is placed. If no cooking zone is active for 60 seconds, the hob will automatically power off.

To switch a cooking zone off, slide the control backward on the slider or touch the empty area on top of the slider at the right side.

The Child Lock feature prevents the hob from being switched on inadvertently.

1. Turn on the hob by pressing the on/off key.

2. To lock the controls, touch and hold the on/off key for 3 seconds. The indication ‘L’ will appear on the display, and the hob controls will be locked.

3. To unlock the controls, repeat the same process: touch and hold the on/off key for 3 seconds. The ‘L’ indication will disappear, and the sliders for zones with pans will appear, indicating the hob is unlocked.

The Boost function allows you to rapidly heat large amounts of food using extra power. It is active for a maximum of 10 minutes, after which the power level automatically decreases to 12.

Activating boost:

• First, activate power level 12 on the desired cooking zone. Then, press the button for power level 12 a second time. “boost” will appear on the display.

• Alternatively, slide clockwise past the button for level 12.

• If auto boost is activated in the Settings, boost will always activate automatically with power level 12.

Deactivating boost:

• To deactivate the boost for the selected zone, press level 12 again or select any other power level on the slider.

On your ASKO HID965GC, two adjacent square cooking zones can be merged into a single large cooking zone, which is ideal for larger pans or grill plates. When a large pan is placed across two bridgeable zones, the hob automatically recognizes its position and connects the zones.

• The power level or temperature is displayed on both bridged cooking zones simultaneously.

• You can only adjust the power level or temperature using the left or upper slider of the bridged pair.

• To manually bridge or un-bridge the cooking zones, touch the two corresponding sliders at the same time.

Pause Function:

The pause function allows you to pause the entire cooking hob for up to 10 minutes.

• Switching on the pause: With at least one cooking zone active, touch the pause button (II). You will hear a short beep, and the settings on all active hobs will be reduced to level 2. All timer functions are paused. Only the pause and on/off keys remain active. If no key is pressed within 10 minutes, all active hobs will turn off.

• Switching off the pause: Press the pause key again within 10 minutes. The hob will resume operation with the same settings as before the break.

Recall Function:

This feature allows you to recall all settings if the hob was accidentally switched off.

• Within 6 seconds of the hob being switched off, switch it back on.

• Press anywhere on any slider within the next 6 seconds to recall all the settings from before the appliance was last switched off.

Your ASKO HID965GC hob has two timer functions for each cooking zone: a count-down timer and a stopwatch.

Count-down timer:

This timer automatically switches off a cooking zone after a set time.

1. Setting the timer: Press the count-down timer selector key for the desired active cooking zone. The key and “0:00” will flash on the display.

2. Set the desired time using the ‘+’ and ‘–’ keys. If no time is set within five seconds, the timer is disabled.

3. Deactivating the timer: Press the timer icon for the selected zone and hold it for 3 seconds.

4. Stopping the alarm: When the time expires, an alarm will sound. To stop it, press the count-down timer key or remove the pan from the zone.

Stopwatch (Cooking time display):

The stopwatch automatically starts counting up when you start cooking on a zone, showing how long you’ve been cooking.

• Press the stopwatch key to display the elapsed time for the selected zone.

• To reset the stopwatch, press and hold the stopwatch key for 3 seconds.

The PLUS menu on your ASKO HID965GC enables temperature cooking with semi-automatic programs for various cookware.

1. Touch the PLUS menu key to display the program line: keeping warm/heating up, frying/wok, and grill (in bridge mode).

2. Choose a program by touching its symbol. Then, set the desired temperature with the slider.

3. The program activates after 3 seconds of inactivity. Always add water, oil, or butter before starting; do not use an empty pan.

4. To deactivate a program, press the active program key for about three seconds or select a power level manually.

Program Functions:

• Keeping warm and Heating up: Melt chocolate (45°C), keep food warm (70°C), simmer (94°C), or bring to a boil (100°C).

• Frying/wok: Cook vegetables, fish, bacon, meat, or eggs using butter or oil.

• Grill: Exclusively for bridged cooking zones. Optimized for ASKO grill plates and teppanyaki.

During heat-up, the slider and set temperature will flash. A short beep indicates when the set temperature is reached, and the slider becomes constantly lit, signaling you can start cooking.

Celsius°Cooking™ uses connected cookware (Frying Pan, Chef’s Pot) or a temperature Probe to achieve precise cooking results. All accessories use a Bluetooth connection.

Prepare the Celsius°Cooking™ Probe:

1. Pull the battery protection tab out of the Probe housing.

2. To install/replace the battery: Unscrew the battery cover, replace the battery (negative (-) side in first), and replace the cover without overtightening.

3. To use: Slide the suspension bracket over the pan edge. Slide the Probe pin into the bracket. The tip of the probe must be at least 1 cm from the pan bottom.

Prepare the Celsius°Cooking™ Cookware (Pan/Pot):

1. Insert an AAA battery into the panhandle (negative (-) end goes in first).

2. Insert the handle cap and turn it a quarter to secure.

Assigning Cookware to a Cooking Zone:

1. Switch on the hob.

2. Place the Celsius°Cooking™ cookware or a regular pot with the Probe on a desired cooking zone.

3. After the hob detects it, quickly tap twice on the handle cap sensor or probe housing to activate it.

4. The Celsius°Cooking™ mode key will light up. It will appear on every possible cooking zone. Press the mode key on the desired cooking zone to assign the accessory. The Celsius°Cooking™ menu will open.

After assigning your Celsius°Cooking™ cookware or Probe to a cooking zone on your ASKO HID965GC, a menu with applicable cooking methods will appear. Choose the one that fits your purpose:

• Heating up and frying: This program rapidly reaches high temperatures. Always add oil or butter before starting to avoid exceeding the smoke point of the oil.

• Boiling or cooking with water: This program quickly reaches higher water temperatures. Always add water to the cookware before starting.

• Slow cooking or sous vide: This program controls low to medium temperatures, preventing high bottom temperatures. Larger or thicker dishes should be stirred occasionally for even heat distribution.

To switch off the cooking zone, touch the slider for the zone and hold it for 3 seconds, or press and hold the selected Celsius°Cooking™ program key for 3 seconds.

If you have a compatible RF-enabled hood, you can connect it to your ASKO HID965GC for integrated control. Pairing is done via the settings menu (see settings question).

Switching extraction on and off:

• Press the ‘+’ key for a higher fan setting. Press and hold ‘+’ for 1 second for the highest setting.

• Press the ‘–’ key to select a lower setting.

Switching the light on and off:

• Press the light key to switch the light on at maximum strength.

• Press the light key again to turn it off.

• Press and hold the light key to adjust the lighting intensity.

Changing the colour lighting temperature:

• Press the light key together with the ‘–’ key to make the light ‘colder’.

• Press the light key together with the ‘+’ key to make the light ‘warmer’.

Automatic Functions (configurable in Settings):

• Synchro Start: Automatically activates the hood lights (and optionally the fan) when the hob is turned on.

• Synchro Control: Automatically adjusts the hood fan speed based on the highest activated cooking level on the hob.

• Synchro Stop: Switches off the lights with the hob, and the fan after a delay.

To connect your ASKO HID965GC hob to the internet, you need the ConnectLife app on a mobile device and your Wi-Fi network information (SSID and password for a 2.4GHz network).

Preparation:

1. Make sure Wi-Fi is activated on the hob (the Wi-Fi key should be visible). To activate it, switch the hob off, then touch and hold the on/off key for 5 seconds.

2. Install the ConnectLife app on your mobile device and create an account.

Connection Setup:

1. Launch the ConnectLife app and select “Add appliances”, then “Hob”, and follow the instructions.

2. Scan the QR code (AUID code) on the appliance when prompted.

3. On the hob: Switch it on. Touch the Wi-Fi key for 3 seconds to enter the Wi-Fi menu (only possible when not cooking).

4. When ‘C’ (connection) is shown, touch the Wi-Fi key to activate Connection Setup. ‘C’ will begin to flash.

5. In the app: Follow the remaining instructions, which will guide you to connect your mobile device to the hob’s temporary Wi-Fi network and then share your home network credentials with the hob.

You can manage Wi-Fi settings through the Wi-Fi menu on your ASKO HID965GC hob.

Accessing the Wi-Fi menu:

• Make sure the hob is switched on and not in cooking mode.

• Touch the Wi-Fi key for 3 seconds.

• Use the ‘+’ and ‘–’ keys to cycle through the available options: ‘C’ (Connection setup), ‘P’ (Pair additional user), and ‘U’ (Unpair all users).

Pairing an Additional User:

1. Select option ‘P’ in the Wi-Fi menu. The appliance enters “Pairing Mode” for 3 minutes, and the Wi-Fi key will flash.

2. On the new user’s mobile app, start the ‘Add appliances’ process and follow the instructions.

Unpairing All Users:

1. Select option ‘U’ in the Wi-Fi menu. The Wi-Fi key will flash 3 times.

2. The hob will delete all paired users and disconnect from the cloud.

Switching off Wi-Fi:

1. Enter the Wi-Fi menu.

2. Touch the Wi-Fi key for 3 seconds to deactivate Wi-Fi. A short beep will sound, and the Wi-Fi key will disappear.

To update the firmware on your ASKO HID965GC, the hob must be connected to the cloud via the ConnectLife app.

1. When a new firmware update is available, you will receive a notification in the ConnectLife app. Follow the instructions given in the app.

2. You will be prompted to confirm your presence at the hob. To do this, go to the hob’s settings menu and set the ‘FoA’ (Firmware over the Air) setting to ON. (This setting automatically resets to OFF after 90 minutes).

3. After setting FoA to ON, start the update process from your mobile app.

4. The cooking hob will switch off, and the Wi-Fi symbol will flash during the update. The process can take up to 60 minutes.

NOTE: The hob cannot be used during the update. Do not terminate the power supply or Wi-Fi connection. It is normal for the hob to be unresponsive or restart multiple times during the process.

You can customize the behavior of your ASKO HID965GC hob through the settings menu.

Entering the Settings Menu:

1. Ensure there are no pans on any cooking zone.

2. Touch any slider with two fingers and hold for 3 seconds.

3. You can now toggle through the different settings using the slider.

Changing a Setting:

1. To view or change a specific setting, touch its element on the slider with one finger and hold for 3 seconds.

2. Toggle to the desired value for that setting.

3. After 3 seconds of inactivity, the new setting will be confirmed.

Exiting the Settings Menu:

Press anywhere on the slider with two fingers for 3 seconds.

Available Settings:

For best results, clean your ASKO HID965GC hob after each use to prevent cooked-on food from damaging the glass surface. Activate the locking function (Child Lock) before cleaning to avoid accidental operation.

Daily Cleaning:

1. Use a damp cloth and a mild cleaning agent (like washing-up liquid) to clean the appliance.

2. Dry the hob with a paper towel or a soft cloth.

Cleaning Heavily Polluted Glass:

1. For food remains, burnt grease, or sugar, immediately use a glass scraper, even if the hob is still hot. This can prevent permanent damage.

2. Hold the scraper at a 45° to 60° angle to the glass. Gently press and slide it over the surface to remove the dirt. Do not press the scraper perpendicularly against the glass or scratch it with the tips of the blade.

3. After removing stubborn stains, clean the hob as you would for daily cleaning.

4. If necessary, a special intensive cleaner for ceramic/induction hobs can be used.

WARNING: Do not use abrasive cleaning agents, steel wool, scourers, or any sharp objects, as they can cause scratches.

If your ASKO HID965GC induction hob is not working correctly, first check the following troubleshooting table. If you notice a crack in the glass top, switch the hob off immediately, unplug it, and contact the service department.

In case of other error codes, please write down the error code and contact the service department.
