Before using your ASKO HID956GC, please read the safety instructions first.
General Safety:
• The appliance is not intended to be operated by an external timer or separate remote-control system.
• Do not use steam cleaners or high-pressure cleaners on the appliance, as this may result in an electric shock.
• The cooking process must be supervised. A short-term cooking process must be supervised continuously.
• Metallic objects such as knives, forks, spoons, and lids should not be placed on the hob surface as they can get hot.
• After use, switch off the hob element by its control and do not rely solely on the pan detector.
Danger of Fire:
• Do not store items on the cooking surfaces.
• Unattended cooking on a hob with fat or oil can be dangerous and may result in a fire. NEVER try to extinguish a fire with water; instead, switch off the appliance and cover the flame with a lid or a fire blanket.
Households with Children and People with Special Needs:
• This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning safe use.

How does the cooking-time limiter on the ASKO HID956GC work?
The cooking-time limiter on your ASKO HID956GC is a safety function that operates if you forget to switch off your hob. Depending on the power setting, the cooking zone will automatically switch off after a specific time has elapsed. Cooking zone-related timers take priority over the cooking-time limiter.
The cooking time limits are as follows:
| Setting | The cooking zone switches off automatically after: |
|---|---|
| 1 and 2 | 9 hours |
| 3, 4 and 5 | 6 hours |
| 6, 7 and 8 | 4 hours |
| 9 | 3 hours |
| 10 | 2 hours |
| 11 and 12 | 1 hour |
Additionally, the boost setting has its own limiter:
| Setting | The cooking zone switches automatically to setting 12 after: |
|---|---|
| boost | 10 minutes |
The cooking-time limiter for a specific cooking zone is reset when the user changes the cooking level of that zone.
How do I use the touch controls on my ASKO HID956GC hob?
The touch controls on the ASKO HID956GC react to the light pressure of a fingertip. Follow these guidelines for the best results:
• Place the tip of your finger flat on the control. You do not need to apply any pressure.
• Do not operate the controls with any objects other than your fingertip.
• The cooking hob is operated by a slider. You can either touch the selected part of the slider or slide in a circular motion clockwise to increase or anti-clockwise to decrease the power level and temperature.
• To set the cooking zone power level, touch the desired spot on the slider. The selected power level will appear on the cooking zone display unit.
• The selected part of the slider will be fully lit.
What type of pans can I use on the ASKO HID956GC induction hob?
Induction cooking on the ASKO HID956GC requires pans of a particular quality. Use only pans suitable for induction cooking with a thick (minimum 2.25 mm) and flat base. Pans that have been used on a gas hob are no longer suitable. You can test if a pan is suitable by using a magnet; if the base of the pan is sufficiently attracted to the magnet, it is suitable.
| Suitable | Unsuitable |
|---|---|
| Special stainless steel pans | Earthenware |
| Class Induction | Stainless steel |
| Hard-wearing enamelled pans | Porcelain |
| Enamelled cast-iron pans | Copper |
| Plastic | |
| Aluminium |
Warning for enamelled sheet-steel pans:
• The enamel may chip if you switch the hob on at a high setting when the pan is dry.
• The base of the pan may warp due to overheating.
• Heat up enamelled pans slowly.
Never use pans with a misshapen, hollow, or rounded base, as this can interfere with the overheating protection and may cause the glass top to crack or the pan base to melt.
