Before updating the firmware on your ALPINE PXE-C60-60, please follow these precautions:

• The software can only be used under the Microsoft® Windows® operating system, specifically Windows 10 and Windows 11.

• Before connecting the ALPINE PXE-C60-60 to the computer, you must first install the ALPINE_OPTIM_for_update computer software correctly.

• After the ALPINE_OPTIM_for_update software is installed, you can then proceed to update the machine firmware on the computer.

To begin the firmware update on your ALPINE PXE-C60-60, please follow these initial steps:

1. Turn on the power of the product main unit.

2. Connect one end of the USB cable to the main unit’s USB port and the other end to your PC.

3. Double-click the ALPINE_OPTIM_for_update application icon to open the application.

Follow this procedure to update both the main unit and controller firmware for your ALPINE PXE-C60-60:

1. In the software, select [Firmware Update] from the [Option] menu to open the firmware update window.

2. Click the [>] button and select the main unit firmware update file first.

3. Click [Update] to begin updating the main unit firmware. The process is successful when the update reaches 100%.

4. Click [OK] to finish. The device will restart automatically.

5. Click the [>] button again and this time select the controller firmware update file.

6. Click [Update] to begin updating the controller firmware. The process is successful when the update reaches 100%.

7. Click [OK] to finish. The device will restart automatically.

To view the version numbers for your ALPINE PXE-C60-60, select [About] from the [Option] page in the PC software. This will open the “About” page where you can view the Application version, Firmware version, and Device version.

To connect your smartphone or tablet to the ALPINE PXE-C60-60 and use the app, follow these steps:

1. Open your smartphone or tablet’s settings.

2. Open the Bluetooth settings and make sure that Bluetooth is enabled.

3. Scan for new devices.

4. When “DSP-HD-XXXXXX” is detected, select it to make a connection. The indicator on the Bluetooth adapter will flash during pairing and will light up solid when pairing is complete. Note that only one Bluetooth device can be paired at a time.

5. Scan the QR code in the manual to find and install the app from your device’s app store.

6. Launch the app and connect it to the main unit.

From the Home screen of the smartphone app for your ALPINE PXE-C60-60, you can select the main audio source. The available options for the “Main source selection” are:

• Coaxial

• USB Audio

• Bluetooth

• Hi.Level

• AUX

From the Home screen of the app, you can adjust several settings for your ALPINE PXE-C60-60:

• Master volume setting: You can adjust the volume from 0 to 35 (default: 12) by sliding the slider bar. You can also touch the main volume icon to enable mute, and touch it again to disable mute.

• Subwoofer level setting: Adjust the subwoofer level from 0 to 15 (default: 9).

• Target Curve Preset setting: Touch a preset button (e.g., T-Curve1) to recall a saved target curve.

The Mix Source settings on the app for your ALPINE PXE-C60-60 allow you to manage audio interruptions. The settings include:

• Mix Source Selection: Choose the source that will interrupt the main audio. Options are Coaxial, USB Audio, Bluetooth, Hi.Level, AUX, or OFF.

• Main source attenuation setting: Set the amount of attenuation (0% to 100%) for the main source when the mix source audio interrupts. The greater the attenuation, the lower the main volume during interruption.

• Interrupt cancel time setting: Set the time it takes for the interruption to cancel. The range is 1s to 10s, with a default of 3s.

To customize the output type for each channel on your ALPINE PXE-C60-60, follow these steps in the app:

1. In the “Channel settings” screen, touch the Output mode custom box for the channel you wish to change.

2. Select the desired output type from the pop-up window. Available options depend on the speaker location:

• [Front] has [Tweeter], [Midrange], [Woofer], and [Full-range] options.

• [Rear] has [Tweeter], [Midrange], [Woofer], and [Full-range] options.

• [Center] has [Front Center], [Rear Center], [F/C-Tweeter], and [R/C-Tweeter] options.

• [Subwoofer] has [L-subwoofer], [R-subwoofer], and [Subfoofer] options.

In the “Output Volume Setting” screen for a selected channel on your ALPINE PXE-C60-60, you can adjust the following:

• Gain setting: Gain can be adjusted by directly entering the value or by touching the [-] and [+] buttons. The adjustable range is -60 dB to 6 dB.

• Phase setting: This is used to switch between normal phase (0°) or reverse phase (180°).

In the “X-Over Setting” screen of the app for your ALPINE PXE-C60-60, you can configure the High-Pass Filter (H.P.F.) and Low-Pass Filter (L.P.F.) for each channel with the following options:

• Type setting: Choose from [Link-Ril] (Linkwitz-Riley), [Bessel], and [Butter-W] (Butterworth).

• Frequency setting: The frequency can be adjusted by directly entering the value or by using the [-] and [+] buttons. The adjustable range is 20 Hz to 20000 Hz.

• Slope setting: Options are -6dB/Oct, -12dB/Oct, -18dB/Oct, -24dB/Oct, -30dB/Oct, -36dB/Oct, -42dB/Oct, and -48dB/Oct.

The channel settings screen on the app provides several management functions for your ALPINE PXE-C60-60:

• Sync setting: Click [Sync] to copy EQ/Vol(dB) settings from the left channel to the right, or from the right channel to the left.

• Store setting: Click [Store] to save the current output channel settings.

• Lock setting: Click [Lock] to lock all output channel types and prevent accidental changes.

• Reset setting: Click [Reset] to clear all output channel types.

The MIX setting on your ALPINE PXE-C60-60 allows for advanced sound source mixing. When you set a sound source signal, it is divided into volumes for each output channel. You can then adjust the volumes of the respective sound sources on the channels, and they are mixed together.

In the “Option settings” page of the app for your ALPINE PXE-C60-60, you can manage your configuration data:

• Load: Use this to load previously saved configuration data.

• Save: Use this to save the current configuration data for later recall.

• Encryption Settings: Touch [Encryption] to enter a password and encrypt the current setting data. Touch [Decryption] to enter a password to decrypt or clear data back to the EQ default. Encryption only applies to a single group of audio data currently in use, not all data on the machine.

To restore your ALPINE PXE-C60-60 to its factory default state, follow these steps:

1. Go to the “Option” page in the app and select [Restore Factory Settings].

2. Touch the “OK” button in the warning prompt to restore all data set in the machine to the factory default state.

3. After selecting “OK”, you will need to manually retry the Bluetooth connection.

To set the shutdown delay, select [Shutdown Delay] from the options page in the app. This will open the shutdown delay setting page, where you can set a delay time from 0 to 255 seconds (initial value is 0s).

Proper volume adjustment is the first step for an AutoEQ measurement on your ALPINE PXE-C60-60. Follow this procedure:

1. Place the microphone in the middle of your car, about 30 cm (1 foot) from the center console.

2. Click the button in the app to proceed. A sweep sound will be played at a low volume.

3. Using the on-screen volume slider, gradually increase the volume until the input level shown on the volume monitor is close to the center.

4. Once a good level is detected for a few seconds, the signal will automatically stop playing.

5. When the level adjustment is complete, you will be prompted to proceed to the measurement step.

Correct microphone movement is critical for a good AutoEQ result with your ALPINE PXE-C60-60. You must move the microphone constantly and consistently to evenly cover the cabin space. The spaces you should move the microphone through include:

• The space above the dashboard.

• The space in front of the driver and passenger, as low as the front of their shins (going slightly into the foot wells) and as high as the ceiling.

When moving the microphone, be sure to avoid the following:

• Do not stop moving the microphone at any time during the measurement.

• Do not go deep into the foot well spaces.

After completing the volume adjustment, you can begin the AutoEQ measurement on your ALPINE PXE-C60-60:

1. When you are ready, touch the button in the app to begin measurement.

2. A countdown will appear on the screen, after which the measurement process will begin.

3. For the entire duration of the measurement, move the microphone through the cabin of the car as described in the microphone movement procedure.

4. During measurement, the result of each frequency sweep is displayed as a faint curve, with the average shown as a strong curve. A progress bar at the bottom shows the overall progress.

5. The app will confirm when the measurement is complete.

6. If there are no obvious problems with the measurement, you can accept it. If not, choose “remeasure” to try again.

The main graph area on the Tuning screen for your ALPINE PXE-C60-60 displays several curves, which can be toggled on and off:

• Target (yellow): This is the curve you will manipulate to define your desired sound. AutoEQ will match your system’s sound to this curve.

• Measurement (dark teal): This is the measured Acoustic Power Volume Density (APVD) of your car’s system.

• EQ (blue): This is the correction curve that AutoEQ will apply to achieve your target curve.

• Predicted (gray): This curve shows the predicted result based on your target curve.

• Distortion & Noise (magenta): This curve shows the distortion and noise that were present during your measurement.

To create your EQ on the tuning screen for your ALPINE PXE-C60-60, you adjust the yellow Target Curve. This can be done while playing reference audio for real-time feedback.

• Moving the control points: To move an existing control point (white dot), simply drag it to the desired location, either side-to-side or up-and-down.

• Adding a control point: To add a new control point, double-tap on the Target curve where you want to create it. Then, drag that point to adjust its position.

• Deleting a control point: To delete a control point, double-tap on it. You will have an option to delete it or cancel.

As you modify the target curve, AutoEQ updates the EQ curve and sends it to the unit so you can hear the result after a brief delay.

After adjusting the target curve on your ALPINE PXE-C60-60, you can save and recall it using the [Store/Recall] button on the side panel of the tuning screen:

• To Store: Touch the [Store] button and select T-Curve1, T-Curve2, or T-Curve3 to save the current target curve data to that preset.

• To Recall: Touch the [Recall] button and select T-Curve1, T-Curve2, T-Curve3, or Default to call up the target curve data stored in that preset.

Center Stage Mode on your ALPINE PXE-C60-60 is a setting dedicated to the driver’s seat, which adjusts the sound stage to the center of the car instead of in front of the driver. Note that sound balance is lost at non-driver seats when this mode is active. You can adjust it with the following settings:

• Center Stage Mode: This toggle allows you to turn Center Stage Mode ON or OFF.

• Steering Wheel Position: Select the steering wheel position (Left or Right).

• Micro adjustment: After selecting the steering wheel position, you can make fine adjustments to the stage position, moving it left or right.
