To reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock, or injury when using the ALLAVINO VSWR172-2, follow these precautions:

Plug into a grounded 3-prong outlet. Do not remove the ground prong, use an adapter, or use an extension cord.

Ideally, use a separate circuit serving only this appliance. Do not use outlets controlled by a switch or pull chain.

Never clean appliance parts with flammable fluids and do not store gasoline or other flammable vapors nearby.

Unplug the appliance or disconnect power before cleaning or servicing.

Use two or more people to move and install the appliance to avoid injury.

Ensure the front of the unit is unobstructed for proper ventilation. Install in a well-ventilated area with temperatures between 60°F (16°C) and 90°F (32°C).

Do not locate the appliance next to ovens, grills, high heat sources, or in areas of extreme cold.

Do not kink or pinch the power supply cord.

Level the appliance properly for it to work correctly.

Never allow children to operate, play with, or crawl inside the appliance. Remove the door and leave shelves in place when discarding old units.

Do not use solvent-based cleansers or abrasives on the interior.

Before using the ALLAVINO VSWR172-2:

Remove the exterior and interior packaging.

Let the unit stand upright for approximately 2 hours before connecting it to the power source. This reduces the possibility of a cooling system malfunction from handling.

Clean the interior surface with lukewarm water using a soft cloth.

Install the handles.

Place the unit on a flat, solid floor strong enough to support it when fully loaded. Level the appliance by adjusting the front leveling leg.

Do not incline the unit more than 45 degrees when moving it.

Allow the unit to cool down for 3 to 4 hours after plugging it in before placing wine bottles inside.

Step 1: Remove the box containing the handle and screws from the wine cellar.

Step 2: Pull out a bit of the rubber gasket from the back side of the holes.

Step 3: Insert the screws through the holes and connect with the handle.

1. On the back of the appliance, attach brackets in the zones shown in the diagram using adhesive straps. Mark and drill pilot holes for the screws about 8mm into the appliance. Use a screwdriver to tighten the screws all the way into the appliance.

2. Position the appliance in the desired location. Locate wall studs behind the appliance and mark where the bracket on the back of the appliance lines up with a stud. Move the appliance away and position the bracket on the mark. Mark and drill pilot holes into the center of the stud with a 3/32” drill bit. Attach a bracket to the stud with the provided long screws.

3. Move the appliance into its final position, lining up the wall bracket close enough to the bracket on the back of the appliance to strap them together. Thread a strap through the brackets and tighten until snug. Do not overtighten.

Note: Straps should be periodically adjusted, tested, and replaced.

The operating panel features the following controls:

ON/OFF: Turns the unit on or off.

UPPER ZONE: Displays the temperature of the upper zone.

UP/DOWN Buttons: Increases or decreases the temperature in 1-degree increments.

LOWER ZONE: Displays the temperature of the lower zone.

°C / °F Display: Indicates whether the displayed temperatures are in Celsius or Fahrenheit.

°C / °F Button: Toggles the displayed temperatures between Celsius and Fahrenheit.

LIGHT: Turns the interior light on or off.

RED/WHITE/SPARKLE: Indicates whether the set temperature is ideal for storing mostly red, white, or sparkling wines.

SELECT: Toggles between the upper and lower zone for temperature adjustment.

UPPER/LOWER Indicators: Indicates whether you are adjusting the temperature for the upper or lower zone.

You can set the temperature by touching the UP or DOWN button. When touched for the first time, the LED readout shows the original factory setting. Each push adjusts the temperature by one degree.

Red wine is generally stored between 50°F and 65°F.

White wine is generally stored between 40°F and 50°F.

There must be a 4-degree difference between the top zone and the bottom zone settings.

Note: The interior temperature may match the ambient temperature if the ambient temperature is lower than the set temperature.

In the event of a power interruption, all previous temperature settings will be automatically saved, and each compartment will return to the previous temperature setting once power is restored.

If the unit is unplugged, loses power, or is turned off, you must wait 3 to 5 minutes before restarting. Attempting to restart before this time may prevent the unit from starting.

Disperse your bottles evenly throughout the unit to avoid concentrating weight in any one area. Do not group all bottles at the top or bottom of the cabinet. Never pull out more than one sliding shelf at a time to prevent the appliance from tipping forward.

The unit has 12 shelves that hold up to 11 bottles each and 2 shelves that hold up to 20 bottles each, for a maximum capacity of 172 bottles. Larger bottle sizes like Pinot or Champagne may affect capacity.

To remove a shelf, pull it out as far as possible. Locate the levers on each side of the shelf near the rollers. Lift the lever on the left-hand side and push down on the lever on the right-hand side to release the shelf from the tracks.

Turn off the power, unplug the appliance, and remove all items.

Wash the inside surfaces with a solution of warm water and baking soda (about 2 tablespoons of baking soda to a quart of water).

Wash the shelves with a mild detergent solution.

Wring excess water out of the sponge or cloth when cleaning the control area or electrical parts.

Wash the outside cabinet with warm water and mild liquid detergent. Rinse and wipe dry with a clean soft cloth.

Dust the front grill and back of the unit twice yearly. Ensure power is off before cleaning.

It is recommended to clean the unit completely inside and out yearly.

If the wine cellar does not operate, possible causes include:

It is not plugged in or the appliance is turned off.

The circuit breaker has tripped or a fuse has blown.

If the unit is not cold enough, check the following:

Check the temperature control setting.

The external environment may require a higher setting.

The door is opened too often.

The door is not closed completely.

The door gasket is not sealing properly.

Frequent cycling on and off may be caused by:

The room temperature being hotter than normal.

The door being opened too often.

The door not being closed completely.

The temperature control not being set correctly.

The door gasket not sealing properly.

If the light does not work:

The unit may not be plugged in.

The circuit breaker may have tripped or a fuse blown.

The light bulb may have burned out.

The light button is set to “OFF”.

Some noise is normal, but excessive noise can be caused by:

A faint humming noise from the flow of refrigerant (normal).

Gurgling sounds as each cycle ends caused by refrigerant flow.

Popping and crackling noises from the contraction and expansion of inside walls.

The wine cellar not being on a level surface.

Issues with the door closing properly may be due to:

The wine cellar not being on a level surface.

The gasket being dirty.

The shelves being out of position.
