Please review the following safety guidelines before using your ALCATEL ONETOUCH 155:

TRAFFIC SAFETY:

Using a mobile phone while driving is a real risk. It is recommended to refrain from using your mobile phone while driving, even with a hands-free kit. Use the phone only when the vehicle is parked.

CONDITIONS OF USE:

• Always treat the phone with care and keep it in a clean, dust-free place.

• Switch off the phone before boarding an aircraft.

• Switch off the phone in health care facilities, except in designated areas.

• Keep the phone at least 15cm away from any medical device like a pacemaker, hearing aid, or insulin pump.

• Switch the phone off when near gas or flammable liquids.

• Do not allow children to use the phone without supervision.

• Do not attempt to open or repair the phone yourself.

• Only use compatible ALCATEL batteries, chargers, and accessories.

• Do not expose the phone to adverse environmental conditions like dampness, rain, dust, or sea air. The recommended operating temperature is between -10°C and +55°C.

BATTERY:

• Ensure the phone is switched off before removing the battery.

• Do not attempt to open the battery due to the risk of toxic fumes and burns.

• Do not puncture, disassemble, or cause a short-circuit in the battery.

• Do not burn or dispose of batteries in household rubbish.

• Dispose of batteries according to local environmental regulations.

• Use the battery only for its intended purpose and never use damaged batteries.

CHARGERS:

• Mains powered chargers operate within a temperature range of 0° to 40°C.

• Chargers are designed for charging your mobile phone only.

Your ALCATEL ONETOUCH 155 has an identification number called IMEI (phone serial number) located on the packaging label and stored in the product’s memory. To find your IMEI number, enter *#06# on your phone. We recommend you note this number down and keep it in a safe place. If your phone is stolen, the police or your network operator may request this number to block the phone, preventing it from being used even with a different SIM card.

End Call / Power Key (Red phone icon):

• Switch on the phone (long keypress) from the main screen.

• Switch off the phone (long keypress) from the main screen.

• Hang up a call.

• Reject an incoming call.

• Return to the main screen (long or short keypress).

Call / Pickup Key (Green phone icon):

• Call / Pick up.

• Access the call memory (short keypress).

OK Key:

• Access the menu / Confirm an option.

• Display a received message.

Navigation Keys (Up, Down, Left, Right arrows):

• Scroll to select an option.

• ▲: Access Messages (from the main screen).

• ▼: Access Directory (from the main screen).

• Adjust the volume during a call.

C Key (Clear / Back):

• Delete a character (short keypress).

• Delete all characters (long keypress).

• Return to the previous screen (short keypress).

• Mute the ringtone of an incoming call.

1 Key:

• Consult your voicemail (long keypress).

* Key:

• Automatic keypad lock/unlock (long keypress).

• Predictive mode/Normal mode/Digits in edition mode.

# Key:

• Activate/Deactivate the vibrator (long keypress).

• Switch between Upper case/Lower case/Automatic capitals in edition mode.

0 Key:

• Access the symbols in edition mode.

Battery charge level: Shows the remaining battery power.

Vibrator mode: Your phone vibrates for notifications.

Silence mode: Your phone neither rings, beeps, nor vibrates, except for alarms.

Unread message: You have a new unread message.

Message list is full: Your phone cannot accept new messages until you delete some from your SIM card.

Voicemail message arrived: You have a new voicemail message.

Call forwarding activated: Your calls are being forwarded.

Alarm programmed: An alarm is set.

Signal strength indicator: Shows the strength of the network signal.

Keypad lock: The keypad is locked to prevent accidental keypresses.

Roaming: You are using a network outside of your home country subscription.

Inserting the SIM Card:

1. Make sure your phone is turned off by pressing and holding the End Call key.

2. Push the SIM card catch to release it.

3. Place the SIM card into the slot with care, ensuring the card notch is on the upper left-hand side.

4. Press and hold down the catch and push it until it is locked.

Inserting the Battery:

1. Align the tab on top of the battery with the slot in the battery compartment.

2. Press down the battery until the latch is completely locked.

Charging the Battery:

1. Before using your phone for the first time, completely charge the battery for approximately 3 hours.

2. Connect the charger to the phone and plug it into a mains socket.

3. A charging animation will be displayed. The battery icon may take several minutes to show the level.

4. The mains socket should be near the phone and easily accessible.

Switching ON: Press and hold the End Call key. A welcome animation will be displayed. If prompted, type your PIN code and confirm with the OK key.

Switching OFF: From the main screen, press and hold the End Call key.

Making a Call:

1. Dial the desired number.

2. Press the Call key (green phone icon) to place the call.

3. To hang up, press the End Call key (red phone icon).

• If you make a mistake while dialing, press the C key to remove the last digit. Press and hold the C key to delete all digits.

Making an International Call:

1. Press and hold the 0 key until “+” is displayed.

2. Enter the country and area codes, then the rest of the number.

3. Press the Call key to send the call.

Making an Emergency Call:

Dial 112 (or your local emergency number) and press the Call key. This can be done without a SIM card or PIN code.

Receiving a Call:

• To answer an incoming call, press the Call key.

• To reject an incoming call, press the End Call key.

• To mute the ringtone of an incoming call, press the C key.

Functions During a Call:

While on a call, press the OK key to access these options:

• Notepad: Enter a number to save it.

• Activate mute: Activate or deactivate the microphone.

• Directory: Access your contacts.

• Messages: Access your messages.

• Call memory: Access your call history.

You can adjust the volume during a call using the navigation keys.

Handling a Second Call (Call Waiting):

If you receive a second call while on a line, you will be notified by a tone. Press the Call key to accept the new call; your current call will be put on hold. To switch between the two callers, press the OK key and select the “Swap” option.

Making a Conference Call:

While on a double call, press the OK key, select “Conference”, and a conference call with up to 5 people will be established. To add more participants, select “Add conf.” and dial the next number.

From the main screen, press the Call key to display a list of your recent calls (Outgoing, Answered, Missed). Select a number from the list and press the Call key to redial it, or press the OK key to access the following options:

• Create SMS: Send an SMS to the selected number.

• Details: Display information about the selected call.

• Save number: Store the number in your directory.

• Delete: Delete the selected number.

• Delete all: Delete the entire call list.

From the main screen, press the OK key to display the menu as a list. Use the navigation keys to select an item and press OK again to confirm. The main menu functions are:

• Directory: Access and create directory files and make calls.

• Messages: Read, write, and send SMS messages.

• Customize: Customize your graphical and audio environment, and set time, date, language, etc.

• Tools: Access functions like Calculator and Alarm.

• Call services: Access functions like Voicemail, Call settings, and Call Forward.

• Games: Play the games embedded in your phone.

• Operator’s services: Access services provided by your network operator.

Consulting Your Directory:

From the main screen, press the down navigation key to access the directory.

Searching for a Name:

You can search for a person’s name by pressing the key associated with the first letter of their name.

Reading a Contact File:

Select a name from the list, press OK, and select “Details” to view the stored information.

Creating a File in the SIM Directory:

1. In the “SIM directory”, select “Create”.

2. Enter the name and the phone number.

3. Press the OK key to confirm.

Available Options for SIM Directory Contacts:

When a contact is selected, you can access these options:

• Details: Display the name and phone number.

• Speed dial: Assign a key (2 to 9) to the contact.

• Create SMS: Create a message to send to the contact.

• Modify: Modify the data of the selected contact.

• Delete: Delete the selected contact.

To access messages from the main screen, press the up navigation key or go to Menu > Messages.

Create an SMS:

1. In the “Messages” menu, select “Create SMS” and enter your message.

2. Press the OK key to access options like “Send” to send the message to a recipient, or “Save” to save it for later.

Inbox Options:

Select a message in your Inbox and press OK to access these options:

• Reply: Reply to the sender by SMS.

• Forward: Forward the message to other people.

• Delete: Delete the message.

• Save number: Save the sender’s number.

• Extract number: Save or use a number contained within the message text.

Message Parameters (Settings):

You can change message parameters in the “Parameters” menu, including:

• Delivery report: Request acknowledgement of receipt for each message sent.

• Validity: Set the time period for message delivery attempts.

• Service centre: The phone number of your operator’s service centre.

Access the “Customize” menu to change the settings of your phone.

Sounds settings:

• Ring tones: Select a melody for incoming calls.

• Volume: Adjust the volume (“Silent”, “Low”, “Medium”, “High”, “Increasing”).

• Vibrator: Activate or deactivate the vibrator.

• Message alert: Activate or deactivate the sound for incoming messages.

• Key beeps: Activate or deactivate the beep for each keypress.

• Battery alert: Activate or deactivate the sound when the battery is low.

Main screen (OT155 only):

• Select the image you wish to be displayed as the main screen.

Other settings:

• Contrast: Set the screen contrast from 5 available levels.

• Set time / Set date: Enter the current time and date.

• Language: Choose the display language.

• Keypad lock: Set the keypad to lock automatically after a period of inactivity. To unlock, make a long keypress on the * key.

• Answer mode: Choose to answer calls with the “Call key” or “Any key”.

• Keys setup: Assign a function or a number to keys 2 through 9 for speed dialing.

Access the security settings via Menu > Customize > Security.

• PIN code: Activate or deactivate the PIN code, which will be requested each time you switch on the phone.

• Change PIN: To change your PIN code, you must enter the old code and then the new code twice for confirmation.

• FDN (Fixed Dialed Numbers): Activate a list of authorized numbers that can be called from your phone. You will need your PIN2 code to activate this feature and manage the FDN numbers list.

Note: If you enter an incorrect PIN code three times in a row, your SIM card will be disabled and display “SIM blocked”. You will then need to enter a PUK (PIN Unblocking Key) code, which can be obtained from your network operator.

Calculator: Enter a number and select the type of operation using the navigation key. Confirm with the OK key. To enter a decimal, use a long press on the 0 key.

Alarm: You can program an alarm with your phone. Options include activating/deactivating, setting the time, and choosing the alarm mode (Melody or Buzzer).

Converter: This tool allows you to convert amounts between Euros and an old local currency.

Access these settings in the “Call services” menu.

Call Forward:

This allows you to forward your calls to your voicemail or another number. Options include:

• Unconditional: Forward all your calls.

• If no reply: Forward calls only if you do not answer.

• If unreachable: Forward calls if you are outside network range.

• If busy: Forward calls if your line is busy.

• Conditional: A combination of “if busy,” “if no reply,” and “if unreachable.”

Call Barring:

This service allows you to restrict certain types of calls.

• Outgoing calls: Bar all outgoing calls, or all international outgoing calls.

• Incoming calls: Bar all incoming calls, or incoming calls when you are abroad.

Snake: The goal is to move a snake to eat eggs without hitting the snake’s body or the edges of the play zone. Each time an egg is eaten, the snake’s tail grows longer. Use the 2 key (up), 8 key (down), 4 key (left), and 6 key (right) to move the snake.

Bricks: The goal is to break bricks with a ball and a racket. When the ball hits a brick, it disappears. Move the racket using the 4 key (left) and 6 key (right). Throw the ball using the * or # key. To pause, press the 0 key.

Normal Text Entry:

To enter a word in normal mode, press the key corresponding to the desired letter several times until the letter appears.

Predictive Text Entry (T9):

The predictive mode allows you to type messages more quickly. Simply press the required key once for each letter, and the phone will suggest the most common words from its dictionary. Confirm the suggested word by pressing the OK key or the right navigation key.

Symbol Tables:

Press the 0 key to display the symbols table. Use the left and right navigation keys to move between the three tables. Press the number key corresponding to the symbol to insert it.

Your ALCATEL ONETOUCH 155 comes with a pocket on the back where you can insert a picture to customize your phone’s appearance. Simply slide a small, cut-to-size picture into the transparent pocket.

• Press and hold the End Call key until the screen comes on.

• Check the battery charge level.

• Check the battery contacts. Remove and reinstall the battery, then try to turn the phone back on.

• Press the End Call key.

• If it still doesn’t respond, remove the battery and re-insert it, then switch the phone back on.

• Check that your keypad is locked when you are not using your phone to prevent accidental presses of the power off key.

• Check the battery charge level. The phone may be turning off due to a low battery.

• Make sure your battery is not completely discharged; the charge indicator can take several minutes to appear.

• Ensure charging is carried out under normal conditions (0°C to +40°C).

• Make sure your battery is inserted correctly before plugging in the charger.

• Make sure you are using an official Alcatel battery and charger.

• When abroad, check that the electrical current is compatible.

• Try connecting in another location.

• Verify the network coverage with your operator.

• Check with your operator that your SIM card is valid.

• Try selecting the available network(s) manually through the menu.

• Try connecting at a later time if the network is overloaded.

• Make sure the SIM card was inserted correctly.

• Verify with your operator that your SIM card is 3V compatible; older 5V SIM cards are not supported.

• Make sure the chip on your SIM card is not damaged or scratched.

• Make sure you have dialed a valid number and pressed the Call key.

• For international calls, ensure you have entered the country and area codes.

• Make sure your phone is connected to a network that is not overloaded or unavailable.

• Check your subscription with your operator (credit, SIM card validity, etc.).

• Make sure you have not barred outgoing calls in the settings.

• Make sure your phone is switched on and connected to a network.

• Check your subscription with your operator.

• Make sure you have not forwarded incoming calls to another number.

• Make sure that you have not barred certain incoming calls.

• Check that you have subscribed to the Caller ID service with your network operator.

• It’s also possible that your caller has concealed their number.

• You can adjust the volume during a call by using the navigation keys.

• Check the radio reception icon (signal strength bars) on your screen. Poor signal can affect call quality.

If you have entered 3 incorrect PIN codes, your SIM card will be locked. You need to contact your network operator to obtain the PUK code (Personal Unblocking Key) to unlock your SIM card.
