What are the main features and intended uses of this walk-behind roller?

This walk-behind roller is diesel-powered (CF178F engine for some models), featuring high performance and quality assurance. It uses a centrifugal clutch CVT, hydraulic two-way travel, and chain walking for more stable torque. The exciting force is directly controlled by the throttle, ensuring easy, mobile, and flexible operation.

Key machine features include:

– Small size and compact structure.

– A foldable operating handle for a comfortable operating environment, which also allows for easy transport and collection.

– Capability to be used with supporting large rollers.

It is widely used for:

– Large auxiliary roller tasks (subgrade, base surface, asphalt surface).

– Sidewalks, covers periphery, curbs.

– Small-scale pavement engineering.

– Road pavement landfill compaction after patching potholes.

– Highway repair.

– Backfill compaction.

– Compaction for small parking lots and stadiums.

It is ideal for roads, municipal roads departments, and squares.

What precautions should be taken before and during operation?

1. Before each launch start, do check before operation, to avoid personal injury and equipment damage.

2. To prevent fires, ensure good ventilation. The operator should position the Engine at least 1 meter away from buildings and other equipment. Do not put combustibles at the side of the engine.

3. Children and pets must stay away from the operating area to prevent burns by gasoline engine parts or injury by operating equipment.

4. Learn how to shut down the operation of the device and all control components quickly. Never allow untrained personnel to operate equipment.

5. Do not put combustible materials (such as gasoline, lighters, and other equipment) next to moving equipment. To add fuel, do so in a well-ventilated place. Stop the engine before refueling. Gasoline is highly flammable and could explode under certain conditions.

6. Do not overfill the fuel tank; the fuel filler neck should not have fuel. If fuel overflows, it shall be removed, and you should wait for it to evaporate before starting the engine.

7. Do not smoke or use open flames where the engine is or where fuel is stored or to increase fuel storage.

8. Engine exhaust includes carbon monoxide. Avoid inhalation, and never operate the machine in a closed, unventilated, or poorly ventilated area.

9. When the engine is running, the muffler will be very hot and will remain hot for a period of time after stopping. Do not touch it to avoid burns or fire. Allow the engine to cool down before moving or storing it in a room.

How are the device controls operated?

1. Fuel valve: The fuel valve controls the passage between the fuel tank and carburetor when the engine is running. The fuel valve must be pulled to the ON position. When the engine is not used, pull the fuel valve to the OFF position to prevent oil outflow in the carburetor, reducing the possibility of gasoline leakage.

2. Engine ON/OFF: The engine switch controls the ignition system. Put the engine switch to the open position to start the engine. Put the engine switch to the OFF position to shut down the engine.

3. Choke lever: The choke rod controls the carburetor lever. When the choke lever is located in the OFF position, it improves the concentration of gasoline for a cold start engine. After the engine is started, the choke lever should be located in the open position to provide suitable fuel for its operation. It also provides the right fuel for starting a hot engine.

4. Throttle lever: The throttle lever controls engine speed. Put the throttle lever in the desired engine speed position.

What checks should be performed before running the road roller?

1. Check the engine and hydraulic tank. Look at the bottom of the tubing to see if there is an oil spill.

2. Wipe off excess dirt and other obstacles, especially around the muffler and recoil starter.

3. Check the appearance. Ensure all nuts, bolts, and screws are strong. Check if the drive belt and chain are too loose.

4. Check engine and hydraulic oil tank levels. Low fuel runs may result in engine damage or unsteady gait. Periodic replacement of engine oil and hydraulic oil is necessary to avoid damage due to an accident. Check the oil level before starting.

5. Check the air filter. A dirty air filter will reduce the amount of air into the carburetor, reducing engine power.

6. Check V-belt, ensure the chain is normal.

How is the roller started?

1. Put the Engine fuel valve plate to the open position. Put the hydraulic reversing handle into the forward or reverse position. During engine heating, pull the choke lever to the ON position.

2. Turn the engine switch to the ON position.

3. Gently pull the recoil handle until resistance is felt, then pull it quickly. Slowly return the handle.

4. After starting the engine, if the choke lever is in the OFF position, slowly move it to the open position. Let the engine warm up. Start work after idling for five minutes.

5. In warm-up operation launched, push the front roller valve forward, and move the rear roller valve backward for walking.

6. Pull back the throttle lever for roller compaction operations.

How is the road roller shut down?

1. If it’s an emergency, simply pull the handle to the stop position.

2. Under normal circumstances, pull the handle to the stop position, push the throttle lever forward to engine idle speed, then turn the engine switch to the OFF position.

What is the engine maintenance schedule?

Item Task Each use 1st month or 20 hours 6th month or 100 hours 1 year or 300 hours
Engine oil Checking oil level

Air Filters Check
Clean ○ (1)
Replace *
Sediment bowl Clean
Spark plugs Check-Adjustment
Replace
Idling Check-Adjustment ○ (2)
Valve Cleaning Check-Adjustment ○ (2)
Combustor Clean Every 500 hours. Additionally: ○ (2) at 1 year or 300 hours.
Fuel tank / filter Clean ○ (2)
Fuel Pipe Check Every 2 years (replacement if necessary)

Notes on Maintenance:

• The schedule addresses maintenance issues.

• It includes projects with emissions associated.

* Refers to ‘Replace paper part only’ for certain filter replacements, as indicated in the table for Air Filters.

Key to Numbered Notes in Table:

(1) In dusty places, perform additional ground maintenance.

(2) This task should be performed by the user only if they have the proper tools and maintenance capability.

General Note:

(3) For engines used for commercial purposes, maintain a good record of running time to determine appropriate maintenance intervals. (This note is general and not linked to a specific number in the table above).

What are common problems and their treatments for the road roller?

If there is a lack of engine power (check control position):

ProblemTreatment
Fuel valve is not openPull valve to open
Open chokeClose choke
Engine switch is not openEngine switch to open
No gasolineAdd gasoline

If you need to check fuel (e.g., due to engine issues):

ProblemTreatment
Deteriorated gasoline or gasoline has goneDrain fuel tank, carburetor fuel, add new gasoline

When inspecting the spark plug (e.g., for starting or performance issues):

ProblemTreatment
Spark plug is damaged, dirty, and incorrect gapClean, adjust gap or replace spark plugs
Spark plug is wet fuelDry and refit spark plug, pull valve lever to fastest position

If issues arise related to the air filter (e.g., poor engine performance):
