General Safety:

• This appliance is for drying domestic-type, machine-dryable laundry only.

• Do not use the dryer function if laundry has been soiled with industrial chemicals.

• This appliance is designed for single household domestic use in an indoor environment.

• This appliance may be used in offices, hotel guest rooms, bed & breakfast guest rooms, farm guest houses and other similar accommodation where such use does not exceed (average) domestic usage levels.

• Do not change the specification of this appliance.

• If the tumble dryer is put on top of a washing machine, use the stacking kit available from your authorized vendor. It can be used only with the appliance specified in the instructions supplied with the accessory. Read it carefully before installation.

• The appliance can be installed as freestanding or below a kitchen counter with correct space.

• Do not install the appliance behind a lockable door, a sliding door or a door with a hinge on the opposite side, that would prevent the appliance door from being fully open.

• Ensure air circulation between the appliance and the floor. The ventilation opening in the base must not be covered by a carpet, mat, or any floor covering.

• Do not install the appliance in an environment with no air exchange. The appliance contains flammable gas, propane (R290). Keep fire and ignition sources away from the appliance.

• Keep ventilation openings in the appliance enclosure or built-in structure clear of obstruction.

• Do not damage the refrigerant circuit.

• Do not touch the accessible condenser metal fins with bare hands. Wear protective gloves.

• If the mains power supply cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its Authorised Service Centre or similarly qualified persons to avoid an electrical hazard.

• Do not exceed the maximum load of 8.0 kg.

• Wipe away lint or packaging debris that has accumulated around the appliance.

• Do not run the appliance without the filter. Clean the lint filter before or after each use.

• Do not dry unwashed items in the tumble dryer.

• Items that have been soiled with substances such as cooking oil, acetone, alcohol, petrol, kerosene, spot removers, turpentine, waxes and wax removers should be washed in hot water with an extra amount of detergent before being dried in the tumble dryer.

• Items such as foam rubber (latex foam), shower caps, waterproof textiles, rubber backed articles and clothes or pillows fitted with foam rubber pads should not be dried in the tumble dryer.

• Make sure that laundry is not trapped between the appliance door and the rubber seal.

• Fabric softeners, or similar products, should only be used as specified by the product manufacturer’s instructions.

• Remove all objects from items that could be a source of fire ignition such as lighters or matches.

• Never stop a tumble dryer before the end of the drying cycle unless all items are quickly removed and spread out so that the heat is dissipated.

• Before any maintenance operation, deactivate the appliance and disconnect the mains plug from the socket.

• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children of less than 8 years of age and persons with very extensive and complex disabilities shall be kept away from the appliance unless continuously supervised.

• Do not let children play with the appliance.

• Keep all packaging away from children and dispose of it appropriately.

• Keep detergents away from children.

• Keep children and pets away from the appliance when the door is open.

• If the appliance has a child safety device, it should be activated.

• Children shall not carry out cleaning and user maintenance of the appliance without supervision.

Note: For ease of loading laundry or ease of installation the door is reversible.

To change the default degree of target final moisture:

1. Turn the appliance on.

2. Select 1 of the available programmes.

3. Touch and hold down the Dryness Level and + Anti Crease buttons at the same time. One of the symbols for Maximum dryness, Extra dryness, or Standard dryness will appear on the display.

4. Touch the Start/Pause button repeatedly until you reach the desired target final moisture. The symbols for maximum dryness, more dry laundry, and standard dry laundry will be displayed.

5. To memorise the setting, touch and hold down the Dryness Level and + Anti Crease buttons at the same time for approximately 2 seconds.

Dryness Level: This option helps to achieve the requested laundry dryness. You can select ready to iron (iron dry), ready to store (cupboard dry), or ready to store (extra dry).

+ Anti Crease: Extends the anti-crease phase up to 120 minutes at the end of the drying cycle. The drum rotates from time to time to prevent creases. Laundry can be removed during this phase.

Silent: The appliance operates with low noise but with a longer cycle time, without affecting the drying quality.

Time Dry: For Cottons, BedlinenXL, Synthetics, and MixDry programmes. It allows you to set a drying time from a minimum of 10 minutes to a maximum of 2 hours (in 10-minute steps).

Time Dry on Wool programme: Applicable to the Wool programme to adjust the final dryness level to more dry or less dry.

Delay Start: Lets you delay the start of a drying program from a minimum of 30 minutes to a maximum of 20 hours.

Buzzer: The acoustic signal sounds at the cycle end and at the start/end of the crease guard phase. To turn it off:

1. Turn the dryer on.

2. Select a program.

3. Touch and hold down the Silent button for around 3 seconds. The buzzer off symbol appears.

4. To activate the Buzzer again, touch the button again until the symbol disappears.

Deactivating the water container indicator:

If a draining kit is installed, the water container is drained automatically and the indicator can be deactivated.

1. Turn the appliance on.

2. Select 1 of the available programmes.

3. Touch and hold down + Anti Crease and Silent buttons at the same time. The water container indicator will be permanently deactivated.

To activate it again, follow the same procedure.

Operating hours counter:

This displays the total operating time of the appliance in hours.

1. Switch the appliance on by pressing the On/Off button.

2. Press and hold the Dryness Level and Silent buttons for some seconds.

3. After 3 seconds the total hours operated are shown in the display.

Factory Defaults:

This function restores the factory default settings.

1. Switch the appliance on by pressing the On/Off button.

2. Wait approximately 8 seconds.

3. Press and hold the Time Dry and Delay Start buttons for some seconds.

4. The appliance will acknowledge the operation by displaying a symbol.

1. Prepare the laundry: Close zips, close fasteners of duvet covers, and tie any loose ties or ribbons. Remove all items from pockets and turn items with an internal cotton layer inside out.

2. Load the laundry: Pull open the appliance door. Load the laundry one item at a time, shaking them out. Close the door, ensuring no laundry is trapped.

3. Turn on the appliance: Push the On/Off button.

4. Set a programme: Use the programme dial to select the desired programme. The approximate duration will appear on the display.

5. Set options (optional): Activate any desired options like Delay Start or Child Lock. To activate Child Lock, turn the dryer on, select a program, then touch and hold the + Anti Crease button for around 3 seconds.

6. Start the programme: Touch the Start/Pause button. The appliance will start, and the LED above the button will stop flashing and stay on.

Programme End:

When the cycle is finished, an end symbol appears on the display. The anti-crease phase will start if you do not turn off the appliance.

1. Push the On/Off button for 2 seconds to turn the appliance off.

2. Open the appliance door.

3. Remove the laundry.

4. Close the appliance door.

5. Clean the filter and drain the water container after each drying cycle.

Cleaning the filter:

1. Open the door. Pull the filter up.

2. Push the hook to open the filter.

3. Gather lint by hand from both internal parts of the filter.

4. If necessary, clean the filter with a vacuum cleaner. Close the filter.

5. If necessary, remove lint from the filter socket and gasket with a vacuum cleaner. Place the filter back.

Emptying the water container:

1. Pull the water container out, keeping it horizontal.

2. Drain the water into a basin.

3. Place the water container back into position.

Cleaning the condenser:

1. Open the door. Pull the filter up.

2. Open the condenser cover.

3. Turn the lever to unlock the condenser lid.

4. Lower the condenser lid.

5. If necessary, remove the fluff from the condenser and its compartment using a vacuum cleaner with the brush attachment.

6. Close the condenser lid.

7. Turn the lever until it clicks into position.

8. Put the filter back.

Cleaning the humidity sensor:

1. Open the loading door.

2. Clean the surfaces of the metal humidity sensor by wiping it several times with the harder side of a dish-washing sponge and a bit of vinegar or dish soap.

Cleaning the drum, control panel, and housing:

Use a standard neutral soap detergent and a moist cloth. Dry the cleaned surfaces with a soft cloth.

Cleaning the airflow slots:

Use a vacuum cleaner to remove fluff from the airflow slots.

If the display shows other error codes, deactivate and activate the appliance. If the problem continues, contact the Authorised Service Centre.

If your AEG TR822F85M does not operate, check the following:

• Is it connected to the mains supply? Connect it to the mains socket and check the fuse in your fuse box.

• Is the door open? Close the door.

• Was the On/Off button pushed? Push the On/Off button.

• Was the Start/Pause button touched? Touch the Start/Pause button.

• Is the appliance in standby mode? Push the On/Off button.

If your laundry is not drying properly, consider these possible causes and solutions:

• Incorrect program selection: Select a suitable program for your laundry type.

• The filter is clogged: Clean the filter.

• Dryness Level option was set to ‘iron dry’: Change the Dryness Level option to a higher level.

• The load was too large: Do not exceed the maximum load size for the program.

• The airflow slots are clogged: Clean the airflow slots at the bottom of the appliance.

• There is dirt on the humidity sensor: Clean the front surface of the drum where the sensor is located.

• The dryness level was not set to the desired level: Adjust the dryness level.

• The condenser is clogged: Clean the condenser.

If the drying cycle is too short:

• The load size is small: Select a time program. The time value must be related to the load. For one item or a small amount of laundry, short drying times are recommended.

• The laundry is too dry: Select an appropriate time program or a higher dryness level (e.g., extra dry).

If the drying cycle is too long:

• The filter is clogged: Clean the filter.

• The load is too large: Do not exceed the maximum load size.

• The laundry was not spun sufficiently: Spin the laundry well in the washing machine.

• Room temperature is too low or too high: Ensure the room temperature is between +5°C and +35°C. The optimal room temperature for the best drying results is between 18°-25°C.

Note: After a maximum of 6 hours, the drying cycle ends automatically.

The following values are obtained in laboratory conditions. Different parameters like the quantity and type of laundry, ambient conditions, and initial moisture content can change the data.
