The control panel on your AEG DPK5660B hood has the following functions:

1. Lamp: Turns the lights on and off.

2. Delayed switch off function button: Sets the automatic switch off delay.

3. Indicator for delayed switch off function: Indicates if the function is activated.

4. Plus button: Increases the fan speed level.

5. LED indicators: Indicates the fan speed levels.

6. Minus button: Decreases the fan speed level.

7. Indicator for filter alarm function: Indicates if the filter alarm is on.

You should use the following fan speeds on your AEG DPK5660B for optimal performance:

• Speed 1: Use while heating up food or cooking with covered pots.

• Speed 2: Use while cooking with covered pots on multiple cooking zones or burners, or for gentle frying.

• Speed 3: Use while boiling and frying large quantities of food without a lid, or cooking on multiple cooking zones or burners.

• Speed 4: Use while boiling and frying large quantities of food without a lid with high humidity. After 8 minutes, the appliance returns to the previous setting.

To operate your AEG DPK5660B hood, follow these steps:

1. Pull out the drawer of the hood more than 5 cm to expose the control panel.

2. Press the Plus button to switch on the hood.

3. To increase the fan speed level, press the Plus button again. To decrease the fan speed level, press the Minus button. The LED indicators on the panel will switch on according to the selected fan speed level.

4. To turn off the fan, continue to press the Minus button until the hood fan stops, or simply close the hood drawer.

The hood remembers the last setting of the fan speed when the drawer is closed. It will operate at this same speed level when the drawer is pulled out again. It is recommended to leave the hood operating for approximately 15 minutes after cooking.

The Delayed switch off function allows you to automatically turn off the fan after a specific time. Here’s how to use it:

1. Set the desired fan speed.

2. Press the Delayed switch off function button. The indicator on the panel will turn on.

To turn off the function, press the button again. Please note that changing the fan speed level or closing the hood drawer while the function is active will result in its deactivation.

The time until the fan switches off depends on the motor speed level:

The filter alarm on your AEG DPK5660B reminds you to change or clean the charcoal filter and the grease filter.

• Grease Filter: The LED indicator blinks red regularly for 30 seconds if the grease filter must be cleaned. This function activates after 40 hours of operation.

• Charcoal Filter: The LED indicator blinks red twice per every second for 30 seconds if the charcoal filter must be replaced or cleaned. This function activates after 160 hours of operation.

During the alarm, the fan does not operate. It will start to operate on the last remembered setting after 30 seconds.

The function counter for the charcoal filter is disabled by default. Follow these steps to manage it:

To activate or deactivate the counter for the charcoal filter:

1. Pull out the hood drawer.

2. Make sure that the fan is turned off.

3. Press the Delayed switch off button for 3 seconds. The function is activated if two white LED indicators flash for 3 seconds. The function is deactivated if only one LED indicator flashes for 3 seconds.

To reset the function counter during the notification period:

1. Pull out the hood drawer.

2. Press the Delayed switch off button for 3 seconds.

To reset the function counter outside of the notification period:

1. Pull out the hood drawer.

2. Make sure that the fan is turned off.

3. For the grease filter, press the Plus button for 3 seconds.

4. For the charcoal filter, press the Minus button for 3 seconds.

The indicator will blink once for a correct reset.

For proper care of your AEG DPK5660B hood, follow these cleaning guidelines:

• Do not use abrasive detergents and brushes.

• Clean the surface of the appliance with a soft cloth with warm water and a mild detergent.

• After cooking, some parts of the appliance can get hot. To avoid stains, the appliance must be cooled down and dried with a clean cloth or paper towels.

• Clean any stains with a mild detergent.

• Clean the appliance and grease filters each month. Carefully clean the interior and grease filters from fat, as fat accumulation or other residue may cause a fire.

The grease filters on the AEG DPK5660B are mounted with clips and pins on the opposite side. To clean the filter:

1. Press the handle of the mounting clip on the filter panel underneath the hood.

2. Slightly tilt the front of the filter downwards, then pull.

3. Repeat these steps for all filters.

4. Clean the filters using a sponge with non-abrasive detergents or in a dishwasher. If using a dishwasher, it must be set to a low temperature and a short cycle. The grease filter may discolour, but this does not affect its performance.

5. To mount the filters back, follow the first two steps in reverse order.

To replace the optional charcoal filter on your AEG DPK5660B:

1. Remove the grease filters from the appliance by following the instructions for cleaning the grease filter.

2. Pull the tabs towards the bottom part of the filter.

3. Slightly tilt the front of the filter downwards, then pull.

4. To install a new filter, perform the same steps in reverse order.

It is necessary to replace the filters at least every four months.

The AEG DPK5660B appliance is supplied with a LED lamp and separate control gear (LED driver). These parts can be replaced by a technician only. In case of any malfunction, refer to the “Service” section in the “Safety Instructions” chapter.
