The A-NEUVIDEO ANI-V2416 is a Composite Video Switcher with the following features:

• Professional matrix chip with 100MHz (-3dB) bandwidth when fully loaded.

• The switching status can be read directly from the LCD display.

• Remote control is available via front panel push buttons or RS-232.

• Supports Audio follow Video or Audio Break-away.

• Device address range is 1-255, allowing up to 255 devices to be controlled by cascading.

• Can store up to 30 preset matrixes.

• Includes matrix control software to manually or automatically switch the matrix.

• Features a faster switching speed with a delay time of less than 100ns.

• It is housed in a standard rack-mountable 19-inch chassis.

Before using your A-NEUVIDEO ANI-V2416, please check the packaging and make sure the following items are contained in the shipping carton:

• Host Device

• RS-232 Cable

• Power Cable

• CD of testing and application software

• User Manual, Certification and Guarantee Card

• Audio connector

Please keep the following in mind as you unpack and install your A-NEUVIDEO ANI-V2416:

• Always follow basic safety precautions to reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock, and injury to persons.

• To prevent fire or shock hazard, do not expose the unit to rain or moisture, or install this product near water.

• Never spill liquid of any kind on or into this product.

• Never push an object of any kind into this product through any openings or empty slots in the unit, as you may damage parts inside the unit.

• Do not attach the power supply cabling to building surfaces.

• Use only the supplied power supply unit (PSU). Do not use the PSU if it is damaged.

• Do not allow anything to rest on the power cabling or allow any weight to be placed upon it or any person to walk on it.

• To protect the unit from overheating, do not block any vents or openings in the unit housing that provide ventilation and allow for sufficient space for air to circulate around the unit.

• Always operate the unit with the AC ground wire connected to the electrical system ground.

• Turn power off and disconnect the unit from AC current before making connections.

• Install the unit in a cool, dry place, away from sources of excessive heat, vibration, dust, moisture, and cold.

To operate the A-NEUVIDEO ANI-V2416 from the front panel, use the format: “input” + “switch model” + “output” + “ENTER”.

• Input: Use the numeric keys (0-9) on the panel. You can combine two or three numbers for double or triple-digit inputs.

• Switch Model: Press “A” (Audio), “AV” (Audio/Video separate), “V” (Video), or “VGA” (VGA/Computer).

• Output: Use the numeric keys (0-9) on the panel. You can also combine numbers for double or triple-digit outputs.

Examples of Operations:

1. Input switch to Output: Press “input number” + “V” (or AV, A, VGA) + “output number” + “ENTER”.

• Example: To switch video input 3 to output 6, press: 3 + V + 6 + ENTER.

2. One input switch to all outputs: Press “input number” + “V” (or AV, A, VGA) + “0” + “ENTER”.

3. Close one output: Press “0” + “V” (or AV, A, VGA) + “output number” + “ENTER”.

4. Close all outputs: Press “0” + “V” (or AV, A, VGA) + “0” + “ENTER”.

To save the current input & output connection status:

1. Press the “SAVE” key.

2. Press a number key (e.g., “2”) to choose a storage location. The device can store up to 30 presets.

3. Press “ENTER”. This saves the current status of input and output to the selected storage location.

To recall (read) a saved input & output connection:

1. Press the “READ” key.

2. Press the number key corresponding to the storage location you want to recall (e.g., “2”).

3. Press “ENTER”. The switcher will now apply the saved connection status.

Press the “MENU” key to access the main settings menu. The LCD will show four choices:

1. SET BAUD

2. SET ADDR

3. SET BEEP

4. SET CYCLE

To configure a setting:

• For Setting Baud Rate (1): Press “1”. Choose the desired baud rate (e.g., press “2” for 9600), then press “ENTER” to finish.

• For Setting Device Address (2): Press “2”. Enter the desired address (1-254) using the number keys, then press “ENTER” to finish.

• For Setting Beep (3): Press “3”. Press “1” for BEEP ON or “2” for BEEP OFF, then press “ENTER” to finish.

• For Setting Cycle of Status (4): Press “4”. First, set the cycle time in seconds using the number keys. Then, set the number of saved scenes/statuses to cycle through. Finally, choose “CYCLE ON” to enable the feature and press “ESC” to exit.

The factory default RS-232 configuration for the A-NEUVIDEO ANI-V2416 is as follows:

• Baud Rate: 9600bps

• Data bit: 8 bits

• Parity: None

• Stop Bits: 1

• Flow Control: None

Please use a straight RS-232 cable, not a null modem cable.

The A-NEUVIDEO ANI-V2416 uses a D-SUB9 connector for RS-232 communication.

The following table lists the ASCII command codes for controlling the A-NEUVIDEO ANI-V2416. Note: [x1], [x2], etc. are port numbers. The ending character of each code (e.g., “.”, “#”) cannot be omitted and must be an English character.

Here are some examples of how to use the ASCII command codes for your A-NEUVIDEO ANI-V2416:

1. Switch an input port to all output ports: To switch input port 3 to all output ports, execute: “3All.“

2. Switch all input ports to corresponding output ports: To make input 1 go to output 1, input 2 to output 2, and so on, execute: “All#.“

3. Close all output ports: To close all outputs, execute: “All$.“

4. Close one or more output ports: To close output port 5, execute: “5$.“. To close output ports 1, 2, and 3, execute: “1,2,3$.” (note: the example in the manual “1,2,3,4$.” appears to have a typo, only listing 3 ports).

5. Switch video signal: To switch the video signal of input port 3 to output port 5, execute: “3V5.“. To switch the video signal of input port 3 to output ports 3, 5, and 10, execute: “3V3,5,10.“

6. Switch audio signal: To switch the audio signal of input port 5 to output port 6, execute: “5A6.“. To switch the audio signal of input port 12 to output ports 3, 5, and 10, execute: “12A3,5,10.” (note: the manual has a typo “12V3,5,10.” under the audio example).

7. Switch audio & video signal: To switch the audio & video signal of input port 10 to output ports 12, 14, and 15, execute: “10B12,14,15.“

Please check the following if you experience problems with your A-NEUVIDEO ANI-V2416:

• Ghost image on display: The display may not be correctly tuned, or the wire impedance is mismatched. Adjust the display or replace the wire.

• Color loss or no signal on an Output: Check the connecting port and cable.

• Cannot be controlled by RS-232: Check the RS-232 port configuration and the physical connection.

• No output image: Check the corresponding input signal with an oscilloscope or multimeter. If there is no input signal, check the connecting cable and connector, or try another input.

• Power light is Off and no LCD display: Check the power connection.

• Output image shows interference: The input and output devices may not be properly grounded. Ensure they are grounded.

• Electrostatic spark when connecting cables: The matrix switcher is not properly grounded. Please ground the device to prevent damage.

• LCD displays and serial port works, but no video/audio output: The audio/video connector may be loose, or the cable may be short-circuited.

• Cannot be controlled by front panel or RS-232: The switcher may be damaged.

1. Run the control software on your computer.

2. In the left panel under “Fix Manage”, right-click on “Matrix Fix”.

3. A menu will appear. Click “New Connect…”.

4. The “Connect Property” dialog box will appear. Select the correct serial port number (COM ID), baud rate, and device address for your A-NEUVIDEO ANI-V2416.

5. Click “OK” to connect the device. After the software receives the device information, the main controlling interface will be displayed.

Once your A-NEUVIDEO ANI-V2416 is connected, its name and type will appear in the left bar of the software. To manage the device, right-click on its name. A pop-up menu will appear with the following options:

• Delete Fix: Click this to delete the device connection from the software.

• Rename Fix…: Click this to rename the device within the software for easier identification.

• Rename Channel…: Click this to change the names of the input and output ports.

1. In the main control interface, first click on the desired input channel button (e.g., Input8). The button will become highlighted.

2. Next, click on all the output channel buttons you want to route that input to (e.g., Output1, Output2, Output4, Output10, Output19). These buttons will also become highlighted.

3. After selecting all desired outputs, click the “OK” button at the bottom of the window to execute the switch.

This will switch the selected input port to all the selected output ports in one operation.

The control software allows you to save and recall up to 30 preset routing configurations.

• To Save a Preset: First, set up the desired input-to-output routing in the main interface. Then, click the “Save” button. A “Preset Group” window will appear with 30 numbered buttons. Click one of the buttons to save the current configuration to that preset slot.

• To Recall a Preset: Click the “Read” button. The “Preset Group” window will appear. Click the number of the preset you wish to recall, and the switcher will apply that saved routing configuration.
