Please consider the following regarding the product liability of the VUGERA VG-803S:

• This product records videos while the vehicle is operating. It is intended for reference purposes when investigating incidents or road accidents. The VUGERA VG-803S is not guaranteed to record all events. It may not record accidents with impacts too minor to activate the G-sensor or accidents with massive impacts that cause the vehicle’s battery voltage to deviate.

• Video recording does not begin until the product is completely turned on (booted up). To ensure all vehicle events are recorded, wait until the product is fully booted up before operating the vehicle.

• VUGERA is not responsible for any loss caused by an accident, nor is it responsible for providing support regarding the outcome of an accident.

• Depending on the vehicle’s configuration or operating conditions, some product features may not be supported, and different firmware versions may influence the product’s performance or features.

• Do not operate the product while driving. Distraction may cause accidents.

• Install the product where the driver’s view is not obstructed.

• Check your state and municipal laws before mounting the product to the windshield.

• Unauthorized disassembly voids the warranty. Handle with care and avoid dropping, mishandling, or exposing it to external shocks.

• The operating temperature is -4°F to 140°F (-20°C to 60°C). Use outside this range can cause damage not covered by warranty.

• Avoid direct sunlight and extreme humidity.

• Keep the windshield and camera lens clean for optimal video quality.

• Only use genuine accessories and peripherals from VUGERA or an authorized dealer.

• Do not apply excessive force to buttons. Clean the product with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use chemical cleaners or solvents.

• Do not use a damaged power cable. Keep it away from heat sources and ensure it is connected securely.

• Do not pull, insert, or bend the power cable with excessive force, or place heavy objects on it.

• Do not modify or cut the power cable.

• Do not insert foreign objects into the device or spill liquid on it, as this may cause malfunction, fire, or electric shock.

• Excessive tinting on the windshield may result in slight deterioration of video quality.

• The Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) is an auxiliary feature and may not be supported in all driver environments.

• Please insert or remove the Micro SD card only when the VUGERA VG-803S is powered off. Ensure it is inserted in the proper way to avoid damage.

• Removing the Micro SD card while the device is saving or reading data may cause data loss and damage the card.

• It is recommended that you format the Micro SD card at least once a month to maintain its reliability.

• Regularly check the data stored on the Micro SD card to ensure the device is working properly.

• The Micro SD card is a consumable item. For best performance, it is recommended to replace the card every 6 months.

• It is recommended to use the Micro SD card provided by VUGERA. Using a card sold by others may result in data loss or device issues.

• The Micro SD card is exclusive to the VUGERA dashcam. Using it in other devices like mobile phones may damage the card and/or the other device.

• Auto delete recording function: If the memory card is full, the oldest video files will be deleted sequentially to allow for continuous recording. Automatically deleted images cannot be recovered.

• Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) Function: Includes Front Vehicle Departure Warning (FVDW) and Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS). You need to select your vehicle type (Car, Van, or Pick-up truck) to optimize this feature.

• Super Night Vision: This feature adds brightness to recordings in low light by using real-time image signal processing (ISP). It operates automatically in Parking Mode only.

• Storage settings: You can choose from Default Setting, Prioritize Driving, or Prioritize Parking. Changing this setting will reformat the SD card.

• High resolution image: Delivers crisp images with a front Full HD 1920×1080 (30 fps) camera and a rear HD 1280×720 (30 fps) camera.

• Low voltage blocking function: Prevents your vehicle’s battery from discharging when parked for a long time by turning the device off if the voltage drops below a set level. This function only runs during parking recording.

Step 1. With the VUGERA VG-803S powered on, touch the “Menu” icon on the upper left of the LCD screen.

Step 2. The main menu will appear with the following options: [Front Only / Front & Rear Image / Rear Only / LCD OFF / ADAS / Menu].

Note: If the rear camera is not connected, selecting “Front & Rear Image” will only display the front image, and selecting “Rear Only” will show nothing.

From the main menu, you can select how the video is displayed:

• Front Only: Displays the real-time video from the front camera on the LCD screen.

• Front & Rear: Simultaneously displays real-time videos from both the front and rear cameras. The rear camera video is shown in the upper right corner of the LCD screen.

• Rear Only: Displays the real-time video from the rear camera on the LCD screen.

• LCD OFF: The screen will turn off, but recording will continue. Touching anywhere on the screen will turn it back on.

Step 1. From the main screen, touch the “Menu” icon in the upper left.

Step 2. Select the “Menu” option from the main menu grid.

Step 3. Select “Playback”.

Step 4. Choose the type of recording you wish to view: [Driving / Parked / Event / Manual].

• Driving: Access files recorded while driving.

• Parked: Access files recorded when motion was detected while parked. The sensor requires sufficient light to detect objects.

• Event: Access files recorded when an impact was detected while driving or parked. Minor impacts may not be detected.

• Manual: Access files recorded by pressing the power button while driving.

Step 5. A Play List will appear. Clicking a file will display it on the LCD screen.

Recording File Naming Convention:

Recorded files are titled “recording method (e.g., REC, EVT, IMP, MOT)_date (yyyymmdd)_hour, minute, second (hhmmss)”.

The recording methods are:

• REC: “Driving” video

• EVT: “Event during driving” video

• IMP: “Event during parking” video

• MOT: “Motion detection while parking” video

• MAN: “Manual recording during driving” video

Driving recordings are saved in 45-second files, while event recordings are about 20 seconds long.

Play Buttons:

During playback, the following controls are available at the bottom of the screen:

• Previous File

• Play

• Pause

• Next File

• Back

You can set the LCD screen to turn off automatically after a certain period. Recording will continue even if the screen is off.

Step 1. Navigate to Menu > LCD.

Step 2. Choose one of the following options:

• Turn OFF after 1 min / Turn OFF after 3 min / Turn OFF after 5 min: The LCD screen will turn off after the selected time from the moment the “VUGERA record start” announcement is made. The default setting is 3 minutes.

• OFF: The LCD screen will remain on until you turn it off manually.

Navigate to Menu > Audio to change volume and speaker settings.

• Voice Recording: Choose between [ON / OFF].

– ON: Records audio with video (factory default).

– OFF: Records video only.

• Volume Control: Set the device volume to Low, Normal, or High. The default setting is “Normal”.

• Sound Effects: Choose between [ON / OFF].

– ON: Touching the LCD screen will cause sound effects (factory default).

– OFF: Touching the LCD screen will not cause sound effects, and there won’t be an alarm for events.

• Audio Guidance: Choose between [ON / OFF].

– ON: Audio guidance will be heard for dashcam operations (factory default).

– OFF: No audio guidance will be heard except for “Have a safe drive” when recording begins.

Navigate to Menu > System Settings. From here you can access Time, Front LED Settings, Touchpad, Format SD Card, Storage Space Settings, and Firmware Version.

• Time: Manually set the time if desired. Click “+ / -” for Year, Month, Date, Hour, Minute, Second, and GMT. If an external GPS is attached, the time and date will be set automatically.

• Front LED Settings: Turn the front Security LED [ON / OFF]. The factory default is “OFF”.

• Touchpad: Recalibrate the touch sensitivity. A plus sign (+) will appear. Touch it five times to apply the newly calibrated touch value.

• Format SD Card: Deletes all saved video files and initializes the SD card. A pop-up will ask for confirmation. Choose “YES” to format or “NO” to cancel. Always back up important files before formatting.

• Storage Space Settings: Select how storage space is allocated on the SD card. Options are Default Settings, Prioritize Driving, or Prioritize Parking. Changing this will delete all files on the card.

• Firmware Version: Displays the model name and current firmware version of your VUGERA VG-803S.

You can prioritize storage space for different recording types. Go to Menu > System Settings > Storage Space Settings.

• Default Settings: Driving 40% / Event 30% / Parking 20% / Manual 5% / System 5%

• Prioritize Driving: Driving 60% / Event 15% / Parking 15% / Manual 5% / System 5%

• Prioritize Parking: Driving 30% / Event 10% / Parking 50% / Manual 5% / System 5%

Caution: Choosing any of these options will prompt a “Yes / No” confirmation. Choosing “YES” will delete all recorded files on the SD card. Be sure to back up important videos first.

You can adjust the sensitivity for event recording in the Configuration menu.

Impact Sensitivity:

Step 1. Navigate to Menu > Configuration > Impact Sensitivity.

Step 2. Choose from “Low / Normal / High”. The factory default is “Normal”. Choose “High” for more sensitive detection or “Low” for detection of only significant impacts.

Motion Sensitivity (Parking Mode only):

Step 1. Navigate to Menu > Configuration > Motion Sensitivity.

Step 2. Choose from “Low / Normal / High”. The factory default is “Normal”. Choose “Low” for more sensitive detection or “High” for detection of only significant motion.

Low Voltage Block:

This feature prevents vehicle battery runout by turning off the dashcam if the voltage drops below a set value. It functions only in Parking Mode.

Step 1. Navigate to Menu > Configuration > Low Voltage Block.

Step 2. Select your desired voltage cutoff: [11.8V/23.6V], [12.0V/24.0V], or [12.2V/24.4V]. The recommended factory default is “12.0V/24.0V”.

Parking Mode:

This mode records video when the vehicle is parked and requires a constant power cable connection to the vehicle battery. It is not available with the cigar jack cable.

Step 1. Navigate to Menu > Configuration > Parking Mode.

Step 2. Choose between [ON / OFF]. The factory default is “OFF”.

• ON: When the engine is turned off, “VUGERA in parking Mode” will sound, and video recording will begin when parked.

• OFF: When the engine is turned off, “VUGERA record stop” will sound, and the dashcam will shut off.

Video Settings:

Navigate to Menu > Configuration > Video Settings to adjust sharpness and brightness.

• Sharpness: Choose from Blur / Optimal / Sharp. “Optimal” is the factory default. “Blur” decreases sharpness, and “Sharp” increases it.

• Brightness: Choose from Dark / Optimal / Bright. “Optimal” is the factory default. “Dark” decreases brightness, and “Bright” increases it.

Factory Reset:

This resets all functions and settings to factory defaults. Recorded video files on the SD card will not be deleted.

Step 1. Navigate to Menu > Configuration > Factory Reset.

Step 2. A pop-up window will ask you to confirm. Select “YES” to proceed or “NO” to return to the menu.

• YES: “System will restart” will sound, and the system will reboot with factory default settings.

• NO: Returns you to the Preferences menu.

Navigate to Menu > ADAS. From there you can configure the following features.

• Front Vehicle Departure Warning (FVDW): Notifies you with an alarm and image when the vehicle ahead has begun to move. Choose “ON” or “OFF”. The factory default is “OFF”. This function is available without a GPS device.

• Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS): Detects lane edges and warns you if the car touches the lane edge. Choose from:

– ON: Runs regardless of speed, even without a GPS device.

– OFF: Turns the system off.

– 60km/h (37mph) / 80km/h (50mph) / 100km/h (62mph): The warning will only sound if you leave the lane while driving above the selected speed. This requires a GPS device to be installed.

• Select Vehicle Type: Calibrates the ADAS function based on vehicle height. Choose from [Passenger Car / Van / Pick-up].

– Passenger Car: A vehicle with six or fewer seats.

– Van: Choose between “up to a 7-Seater” and “Larger than a 9-Seater”.

– Pick-up: A vehicle used for freight, maintenance, or safety services.

This pop-up appears when the device is turned on after being in parking mode and informs you of the number of motion and event files recorded while parked. When the device turns on, the VUGERA logo and a caution pop-up will appear for 2 seconds after the audio plays (“Event occurred. Please check your recorded playlist”).

• This function only works when parking mode is used.

• Parking mode is not available if you use the cigar jack cable.

• Audio guidance will only sound if “Audio Guidance” is turned on and an event video was recorded.

Files recorded by the VUGERA VG-803S can be viewed in any common video player. The file naming rule is: EVT1_20190320_120907.avi where ‘EVT’ is the recording type, ‘1’ indicates the camera channel (1: Front, 2: Front+Rear), ‘20190320’ is the date, and ‘120907’ is the time.

File Name Meanings & Size:

VG-803S Recording Timetable (Default Settings, 32G Card):

Note: Recording times may differ due to recording resolution and size, and can also change based on the surrounding environment like light color and shading.

Before formatting, save important data to other storage media. It is recommended to format the card once a month.

Step 1. Remove the Micro SD card from the VUGERA VG-803S and connect it to your PC.

Step 2. Locate the drive for the SD card in your computer’s file explorer.

Step 3. Right-click on the drive and select “Format” to open the format window.

Step 4. Press the [Start] button. A warning window will appear. Press [OK] to begin formatting. If you press [Cancel], it will not be formatted.

Caution: If you remove the Micro SD card from the PC while it is formatting, you may damage the card.

The VUGERA PC Viewer allows you to watch and manage recordings from your dashcam.

• Open Files: Press the “Open Drive (Files)” button to select the drive containing the Micro SD card.

• View Videos: Select a file from the file list on the right. Double-click the video to view, or press the Play button.

• Map View: If files were saved with an external GPS installed, you can view the vehicle’s route. This requires an internet connection.

• Switch Channels: Change the size of the front/rear images by pushing the “Switch Channels” button.

Click the “Set up” (preference setting) button in the PC Viewer to access the Dashcam Configuration window.

• Sensitivity setting:

– Impact sensitivity: Adjusts the vehicle’s impact sensitivity between 3 levels.

– Motion sensitivity: Adjusts the motion detection sensitivity in parking mode (Low, Normal, High).

• Low Voltage Cut-off Setting: Set the voltage level at which the device will disconnect from power to prevent battery discharge during parking mode.

• Video Setting: Adjust the Brightness and Sharpness according to the vehicle’s window tinting and your preference.

• Time setting: Set the date and time. Using the dashcam without GPS can result in time errors, so set it periodically. You can also set the local time zone and daylight savings.

Caution: If you change the time or other settings, the memory card will be formatted. Please back up important video files in advance.

Step 1. Insert the Micro SD card into the VUGERA main unit. When inserting, ensure the logo on the card is visible.

Step 2. Remove the double-sided tape from the mounting bracket and attach it to the desired position on your windshield. Fix the VUGERA main body to the bracket.

Step 3. For the rear camera, remove the film from its cradle and attach it to the rear windshield, ensuring it does not touch the heat wire. Connect the rear camera cable to the dashcam terminal and the rear camera.

Step 4. Connect the cigar power cable to the VUGERA’s power port (DC-IN) and plug the cigar jack into your vehicle’s power socket.

Step 5. After connecting the power cable, turn on the engine. The VUGERA VG-803S will power on and begin to work.

Step 6. Adjust the bracket angle after checking the camera’s view on the LCD screen.

To use the Parking Mode Recording function, you must connect the Hardwire Power Cable to the vehicle’s fuse box.

The wire colors correspond to the following connections:

• ACC (Red wire): Connect to a terminal that provides 12V when the car key is in the ACC or ON position (e.g., cigar jack signal).

• B+ (Yellow wire): Connect to a terminal that always has 12V, regardless of the vehicle’s ON/OFF status (e.g., emergency lights, electric seat lights).

• GND (Black wire): Connect to the vehicle’s ground (chassis).

When installing the VUGERA VG-803S with a navigation system, please maintain a minimum distance of 20 cm between the two products diagonally. This is to prevent potential interference that may decrease the receiving rate in areas with weak DMB and GPS signals.
