Only operate the VONHAUS 3500166 for its intended purpose and within the parameters specified in the manual. This power tool is for domestic use only. Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces.

This power tool is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless supervised or given appropriate instruction concerning the product’s use by a person responsible for their safety.

Do not allow the VONHAUS 3500166 to be used as a toy. Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the power tool.

If the power tool is not functioning properly, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or immersed in liquid, do not use.

Do not use the power tool if any parts appear to be faulty, missing or damaged.

Ensure all parts are securely attached before use.

To reduce the risk of personal injury, follow these guidelines:

Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.

Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off position before connecting to the power source and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the tool.

Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.

Always wear eye protection. Always wear safety goggles (not glasses) that comply with ANSI safety standard Z87.1.

Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering the power tools will increase the risk of electric shock.

Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication.

Use personal protective equipment. Protective equipment such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries.

Remove any adjusting key or spanner before turning the power tool on. A spanner or a key left attached to a rotating part may result in personal injury.

Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times.

Dress appropriately. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery.

Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts.

If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used.

Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.

Do not operate the power tool in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust.

Keep children and bystanders away while operating the power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.

Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.

Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.

Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or the battery pack from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.

Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate it.

Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect the power tool’s operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use.

Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.

Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits in accordance with these instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.

Regularly check external nuts and fixings to ensure vibration caused by normal use has not begun to loosen them.

Locate the power tool out of reach of children, in a dry, locked unit.

Never soak or immerse electrical components and or a component that has a plug attached.

Disconnect the plug from the power source before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing.

Ensure the motor has fully stopped before cleaning, clearing a blockage, checking, or carrying out any maintenance on the tool.

Maintain your power tool. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect the power tool’s operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired by a qualified repair person before use.

Keep cutting tools sharp and clean.

Always store the power tool in a dry place.

If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a qualified service technician.

Keep the ventilation slots and motor housing as free of dirt and dust as possible (where applicable).

Clean the power tool by rubbing it with a clean cloth and blow it clean using low-pressure compressed air is recommended.

The drill must be secured.

The work-piece must be clamped or secured to the work-piece support. Do not drill pieces that are too small to be clamped securely.

Do not wear gloves. Keep your hands out of the drilling area while the tool is running.

Make sure the accessory is rotating before feeding into the work-piece.

When the accessory is jammed, stop applying downward pressure and switch off the tool. Investigate and take corrective actions to eliminate the cause of the jam.

Avoid generating long chips by regularly interrupting downward pressure.

Never remove chips from the drilling area while the tool is running. To remove chips, move the accessory away from the work-piece, switch off the tool and wait for the accessory to stop moving. Use tools such as a brush or hook to remove chips.

Accessories with speed ratings must be rated at least equal to the maximum speed marked on the power tool.

Attaching/Detaching the Battery: Align the battery pack with the tool’s base and slide it on until it clicks into place. To remove, press the battery release button and slide it off.

Direction Control Switch (Forward/Reverse/Lock): The Direction Control Switch (4) determines the direction of rotation and also serves as a lock-off button.

To select forward rotation, push the switch from right to left.

To select reverse rotation, push the switch from left to right.

To lock the trigger, place the switch in the center position.

Variable Speed Trigger: The Variable Speed Trigger (6) controls the tool’s speed. Squeezing the trigger increases the speed, while releasing it decreases the speed.

LED Work Light: The LED Work Light (5) illuminates when the Variable Speed Trigger is pressed.

Gearbox Speed Selector: The Gearbox Speed Selector (3) allows you to choose between two speed settings.

1: Low Speed: This slows the speed but provides more power and torque, making it useful for high-power applications.

2: High Speed: This increases speed but provides less power and torque.

Installing/Removing Drill Bits: To install a bit, turn the Keyless Chuck (1) counter-clockwise to open the jaws, insert the bit, and then turn the chuck clockwise to tighten and lock it.

Torque Adjustment: The Torque Adjustment Collar (2) should be set depending on the type of material and the length and type of screw being used.

1-5: For Small Screws

6-10: For Soft Materials

7-19: For Soft/Hard Materials

For heavy drilling, align the indicator with the drill symbol on the collar.

For electrical products sold within the European Community, at the end of the electrical product’s useful life, it should not be disposed of with household waste. Please recycle where facilities exist. Contact your local authority for details of collection schemes in your area.

In all circumstances:

Do not dispose of in domestic waste.

Do not incinerate.

Do not abandon in the environment.

Do not dispose of WEEE as unsorted municipal waste.
