How do I operate the VIRUTEX ASU317S Joining Clamp?
The VIRUTEX ASU317S is a device designed for creating butt joints with plates that require joining or assembly along their edges. To use it, proceed in the following manner:
1. Make sure that the area to which the accessory will be applied has a minimum width of 230 mm.
2. Position the plates or boards so that the edges being fit together face one another.
3. Apply one suction pad to each part, ensuring that the area where they are applied is clean.
4. Bring the lever up to the horizontal position to generate a vacuum in the base, thereby creating the suction force.
5. Once the suction pads are in place, turn the crank handle for knob A until the edges of the plates meet but are not under pressure.
6. Turn the levelling knob B until the surfaces of the two plates are perfectly flush.
7. Lastly, turn the crank handle A so that it exerts a horizontal force on the butt joint.
8. Before removing the accessory, check that the joint has been made properly between the plates.
What are the safety instructions for using the VIRUTEX ASU317S?
Please adhere to the following safety instructions when using the VIRUTEX ASU317S:
• The VIRUTEX ASU317S accessories are equipped with Virutex suction pads, which are designed exclusively for temporary (not permanent) fastening on plates or boards used to make butt joints. They must be used on flat, smooth, non-porous surfaces.
• The suction pads are not recommended for any other application, such as holding or transporting objects. The user is responsible for accidents and damage that may arise from non-recommended usage.
• The maximum suction force exerted by the suction pad is 200 N (20 kg) in the operating direction of the accessory. This value is valid as long as the suction pad is applied to a flat, smooth and non-porous surface. If the suction pads are being attached to other surfaces, or if the conditions are extremely damp or cold, it is possible that the suction force may be reduced, or even insufficient.
• The bases of the suction pads should be dry, clean and completely grease-free, or the suction force will be reduced.
• Check the condition of the bases of the suction pads before each use. If they show signs of damage or wear, do not use them, as the suction force will not be adequate. Replace the damaged base with spare part number 6045671.
What are the maintenance and care recommendations for the VIRUTEX ASU317S?
To ensure the proper function and longevity of your VIRUTEX ASU317S, please follow these recommendations:
• The base of the suction pads may be cleaned with alcohol.
• Always store the suction pads in the off position.
• Do not expose the suction pads to heat or sunlight for prolonged periods of time, as the bases may lose elasticity and suction force.
• Only use Virutex replacement bases, Ref. 6045671.
