10. Do not place this product on an unstable cart, stand, or table.

11. Do not attempt to disassemble this projector. There are dangerous high voltages inside. The only user-serviceable part is the lamp which has its own removable cover.

12. Do not place this projector in poorly ventilated spaces, locations with high temperatures, excessive humidity, dust, or near fire alarms. Ensure at least 50 cm clearance from walls. Avoid ambient temperatures above 40°C / 104°F and altitudes higher than 3000 m (10000 feet).

13. Do not block the ventilation holes. Do not place the projector on a blanket, cover it with a cloth, or place inflammables near it.

14. Always place the projector on a level, horizontal surface. Do not use if tilted more than 10 degrees left to right, or more than 15 degrees front to back.

15. Do not stand the projector on end vertically.

16. Do not step on the projector or place any objects upon it.

17. Do not place liquids near or on the projector.

18. This product is capable of displaying inverted pictures for ceiling mount installation. Use only a qualified ceiling mount kit and ensure it is securely installed.

19. It is normal to sense some heated air and odor from its ventilation grill during operation.

20. Do not use the Security bar for transporting or installation. It should be used with a commercially available theft prevention cable.

If you intend to mount your VIEWSONIC PJD5152 VS13307 projector on the ceiling, it is strongly recommended that you use a proper fitting projector ceiling mount kit and ensure it is securely and safely installed. The Infra-Red (IR) remote control sensor is located on the front of the VIEWSONIC PJD5152 VS13307. The remote control must be held at an angle within 30 degrees perpendicular to the projector’s IR sensor to function correctly. The distance between the remote control and the sensor should not exceed 8 meters (approximately 26 feet). Ensure there are no obstacles between the remote and the sensor.

Your VIEWSONIC PJD5152 VS13307 projector is designed to be installed in one of four possible locations:

1. Front Table: The projector is placed on a table in front of the screen. This is the most common setup. Set Projector Position to “Front Table” in the menu.

2. Front Ceiling: The projector is suspended upside-down from the ceiling in front of the screen. A ceiling mount kit is required. Set Projector Position to “Front Ceiling” in the menu.

3. Rear Ceiling: The projector is suspended upside-down from the ceiling behind the screen. A special rear projection screen and a ceiling mount kit are required. Set Projector Position to “Rear Ceiling” in the menu.

4. Rear Table: The projector is placed on a table behind the screen. A special rear projection screen is required. Set Projector Position to “Rear Table” in the menu.

To connect the VIEWSONIC PJD5152 VS13307 projector to a notebook or desktop computer:

1. Turn all equipment off before making any connections.

2. Take the supplied VGA cable and connect one end to the D-Sub output socket of the computer.

3. Connect the other end of the VGA cable to the COMPUTER IN 1 or COMPUTER IN 2 signal input socket on the projector.

4. If you wish to use the projector’s speaker, connect an audio cable from the audio output of your device to the AUDIO IN socket on the projector.

5. You can also connect external speakers by running an audio cable from the AUDIO OUT socket of the projector to your speakers.

Many notebooks do not automatically turn on their external video ports. You may need to press a key combination like FN + F3 or a key with a monitor symbol (often labeled CRT/LCD) to activate the external display.

To view your presentation on a monitor as well as the screen, you can connect the COMPUTER OUT socket on the VIEWSONIC PJD5152 VS13307 to an external monitor:

1. First, connect the projector to a computer as previously described.

2. Take a suitable VGA cable and connect one end to the D-Sub input socket of the video monitor.

3. Connect the other end of the cable to the COMPUTER OUT socket on the projector.

Please note that the COMPUTER OUT output only works when an active signal is being received on COMPUTER IN 1 or COMPUTER IN 2. Also, ensure the “Active VGA Out” function is turned on in the projector’s menu.

• Best video quality (Component Video): This method is ideal for devices like Digital TV tuners and DVD players that output Component Video. It provides the best available video connection. • Better video quality (S-Video): The S-Video method provides better quality analog video than standard composite Video. If your device has both, choose S-Video. Connect the S-Video cable to the S-VIDEO socket on the projector.

• Least video quality (Composite Video): This is a standard analog video connection that provides an acceptable, but less than optimal, result. Connect the Video cable to the VIDEO socket on the projector.

For audio, you can connect the audio output of your device to the AUDIO IN socket on the projector to use the internal mono speaker, or connect your video device’s audio output to a separate sound system.

1. Plug the power cord into the projector and into a wall socket. The POWER indicator light on the projector will flash blue.

2. Remove the lens cap.

3. Press the POWER button on the projector or remote control. The POWER indicator light will stay blue when the projector is on. The start-up procedure takes about 30 seconds, after which a startup logo is projected.

4. If necessary, rotate the focus ring to adjust the image clearness.

5. If it is the first time you are activating the projector, select your OSD language following the on-screen instructions.

6. Switch on all of your connected equipment. The projector will begin to search for an input signal.

Note: To maintain lamp life, once you turn the projector on, wait at least 5 minutes before turning it off.

1. Press MENU/EXIT on the projector or MENU on the remote control to turn the OSD menu on.

2. Use the left and right arrow keys to highlight one of the main menu icons (DISPLAY, PICTURE, SOURCE, SYSTEM SETUP: Basic, SYSTEM SETUP: Advanced, INFORMATION).

3. Once a main menu is selected, use the up and down arrow keys to highlight a specific sub-menu item.

4. Press the right arrow key or MODE/ENTER to select the sub-menu item and view its options.

5. Use the arrow keys to adjust the setting.

6. Press MENU/EXIT on the projector or Exit on the remote to go back to the previous menu or to close the OSD menu and save your settings.

1. Open the OSD menu and navigate to SYSTEM SETUP: Advanced > Security Settings.

2. Press MODE/ENTER or Enter to open the Security Settings page.

3. Highlight “Power On Lock” and use the right arrow key to select “On”.

4. The “INPUT NEW PASSWORD” screen will appear. The four arrow keys represent digits (1, 2, 3, 4). Press the arrow keys to enter a six-digit password.

5. Confirm the new password by re-entering it.

6. Once the password is set, the OSD menu returns to the Security Settings page. It is highly recommended to write down your password and keep it in a safe place.

If you forget the password for your VIEWSONIC PJD5152 VS13307, you can use the password recall procedure:

1. With the projector asking for a password, press and hold AUTO on the projector or remote control for 3 seconds.

2. The projector will display a coded number on the screen. Write down this number.

3. Turn off your projector.

4. Seek help from your local service center to decode the number. You may be required to provide proof of purchase to verify that you are an authorized user.

1. Open the OSD menu and navigate to SYSTEM SETUP: Advanced > Security Settings > Change Password.

1. Press SOURCE on the projector or remote control. A source selection bar is displayed.

2. Press the Up/Down arrow keys until your desired signal is selected.

3. Press MODE/ENTER on the projector or Enter on the remote control to confirm your selection.

The VIEWSONIC PJD5152 VS13307 is equipped with one quick-release adjuster foot and one rear adjuster foot to change the image height and projection angle.

1. To raise the front of the projector, press the quick-release button and lift the front of the projector. Release the button to lock the foot in position.

2. To lower the front of the projector, hold up the projector while pressing the quick-release button, then slowly lower the projector.

3. Screw the rear adjuster foot to fine-tune the horizontal angle.

To optimize the picture quality from a PC signal (analog RGB), press AUTO on the projector or remote control. Within 3 seconds, the built-in Intelligent Auto Adjustment function will re-adjust the values of Frequency and Clock to provide the best picture quality. The screen will be blank while this function is active.

1. Adjust the projected image to the size that you need by rotating the zoom ring on the lens.

2. Then, sharpen the image by rotating the focus ring on the lens until the image is clear.

Keystoning occurs when the projected image is noticeably wider at the top or bottom because the projector is not perpendicular to the screen. To correct this, you can use one of two methods:

Using the remote control or projector keys:

Press the Up/Down keystone correction keys on the projector or remote control. The Up key corrects keystoning at the top of the image, and the Down key corrects it at the bottom.

Using the OSD menu:

1. Press MENU/EXIT to open the OSD menu.

2. Navigate to the DISPLAY menu.

3. Highlight Keystone and press MODE/ENTER or Enter.

4. Use the Up and Down arrow keys to adjust the keystone correction.

Using the remote control:

1. Press Magnify + to magnify the center of the picture. Press it repeatedly until the size is suitable.

2. Use the directional arrow keys to navigate the magnified picture.

3. To restore the picture to its original size, press AUTO. You can also press Magnify – repeatedly.

Using the OSD menu:

1. Open the OSD and navigate to the DISPLAY > Zoom menu.

2. On the projector, press the Right arrow key repeatedly to magnify the picture to a desired size.

3. To navigate the picture, press MODE/ENTER to switch to panning mode and then use the directional arrows.

4. To reduce the size, press MODE/ENTER again to switch back to zoom mode and press the AUTO key to restore the picture to its original size.

Selecting a Picture Mode:

You can either press MODE/ENTER on the projector or Color Mode on the remote control repeatedly until your desired mode is selected. Alternatively, you can navigate to the PICTURE > Color Mode menu in the OSD and select a mode.

Picture modes for PC input signals (D-Sub / Comp. 1/2 analog RGB):

• Brightest mode: Maximizes brightness, suitable for well-lit rooms.

• Daylight mode: Designed for presentations in daylight to match PC and notebook coloring.

• ViewMatch mode: Switches between high brightness and accuracy color performance.

• Cinema mode: For playing movies or video clips in a darkened environment.

• User 1/User 2 mode: Recalls your customized settings.

Picture modes for Video input signals (S-Video, Video, D-Sub / Comp. 1/2 YPbPr):

• Brightest mode: Optimized for daylight viewing.

• Gaming mode: Suitable for entertainment media like gaming and movies.

• ViewMatch mode: Switches between high brightness and accuracy color performance.

• Cinema mode: For enjoying dark movies in a home cinema environment.

• User 1/User 2 mode: Recalls your customized settings.

Setting the User 1/User 2 mode:

1. Go to the PICTURE > Color Mode menu.

2. Select User 1 or User 2.

3. Highlight Reference Mode and select a picture mode that is closest to your needs as a starting point.

4. Adjust the other settings in the PICTURE menu (Brightness, Contrast, etc.) to your preference.

5. Highlight Save Settings and press MODE/ENTER or Enter to store the settings.

Color management provides fine color control for accurate reproduction, typically used in permanent installations with controlled lighting. To adjust the settings:

1. Go to the DISPLAY menu and highlight Color Management.

2. Press MODE/ENTER or Enter to display the Color Management page.

3. Highlight Primary Color and select a color to adjust (Red, Yellow, Green, Cyan, Blue, or Magenta).

4. Highlight Hue and press the arrow keys to select its range. Increasing the range includes more proportions of its two adjacent colors.

5. Highlight Saturation and adjust its value. Lower settings produce less saturated colors. A setting of “0” removes that color entirely.

6. Highlight Gain and adjust its value. This affects the contrast level of the primary color you selected.

7. Repeat steps 3 to 6 for other color adjustments.

8. Press MENU/EXIT or Exit to exit and save the settings.

To draw the audience’s attention to the presenter, you can use the Left/Blank key on the projector or the Blank button on the remote control to hide the screen image. The word ‘BLANK’ appears at the lower right corner of the screen. Press any key on the projector or remote control to restore the image. When Blank is pressed, the projector automatically enters Economic mode.

To prevent accidental changes to your projector settings, you can lock the control keys on the projector itself. When Panel Key Lock is on, no control keys on the projector will operate except for the POWER button.

To lock the keys, press the Right arrow key on the projector or go to the SYSTEM SETUP: Basic > Panel Key Lock menu, and select On. A confirmation message is displayed; select Yes to confirm.

To release the panel key lock, press and hold the Right arrow key on the projector for 3 seconds. You can also use the remote control to select Off in the Panel Key Lock menu. Keys on the remote control are still functional when panel key lock is enabled.

It is recommended to use the High Altitude Mode when your environment is between 1500 m – 3000 m above sea level, and the temperature is between 0°C – 35°C. This mode increases fan speed to improve system cooling, which may cause a higher operating noise level. Do not use this mode if your altitude is between 0 m and 1500 m, as the projector will be over-cooled.

To activate High Altitude Mode:

1. Press MENU/EXIT and navigate to the SYSTEM SETUP: Advanced menu.

2. Highlight High Altitude Mode and select On. A confirmation message is displayed.

3. Highlight Yes and press MODE/ENTER or Enter.

1. Press the POWER button once. A confirmation message is displayed.

2. Press the POWER button a second time. The POWER indicator light will flash blue, the projection lamp will shut down, and the cooling fans will continue to run for approximately 90 seconds.

3. Once the cooling cycle is complete and the fans stop, you can disconnect the power cord from the wall socket if the projector will not be used for an extended period.

CAUTION: Do not unplug the power cord before the shutdown sequence is complete. If the projector is not properly shut down, the fans will run for a few minutes to cool down the next time you try to start it.

Method 2:

You can extend the lamp life of your VIEWSONIC PJD5152 VS13307 by using the following settings:

• Setting Lamp mode as Economic: Using Economic mode reduces system noise and power consumption. The light output will be reduced, resulting in darker projected pictures, but it extends the lamp operation life. 12. Tighten the screws that secure the lamp cover.

13. Restart the projector. After replacement, you must reset the lamp timer.

After replacing the lamp, you must reset the lamp timer:

1. After the startup logo appears, open the On-Screen Display (OSD) menu.

2. Go to the SYSTEM SETUP: Advanced > Lamp Settings menu.

3. Press the Down arrow key to highlight “Reset lamp timer” and press MODE/ENTER or Enter.

4. A warning message is displayed asking if you want to reset the lamp timer.

5. Highlight Reset and press MODE/ENTER or Enter. The lamp time will be reset to ‘0’.

CAUTION: Do not reset the lamp timer if the lamp is not new or replaced, as this could cause damage.

If your VIEWSONIC PJD5152 VS13307 does not turn on, check the following:

• Cause: There is no power from the power cord.

• Remedy: Plug the power cord into the AC inlet on the projector, and plug the power cord into the power outlet. If the power outlet has a switch, make sure that it is switched on.
