The TOOLCRAFT 1697807 angle grinder stand turns your portable angle grinder into a cut-off saw. It comes with a clamp that mounts onto the base and can be used to secure the work piece.

For safety and approval purposes, you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. If you use the product for purposes other than those described above, the product may be damaged. In addition, improper use can result in short circuits, fires, electric shocks, or other hazards.

In schools, training facilities, hobby or self-service workshops, handling of this product must be monitored by trained personnel.

When operating on commercial premises, relevant accident prevention regulations must be observed.

Do not operate equipment while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The workplace must always be kept clean and tidy. Mess at the workplace increases probability of dangerous incidents.

Operators must always wear impact resistant protective goggles with side protectors, protective masks, gloves and hearing protection when operating the product with angle grinder attached.

Operators and maintenance personnel shall be physically able to handle the bulk, weight and power of the tool.

The device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.

Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. This may become dangerous playing material for children.

Protect the device from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, high humidity, moisture, flammable gases, steam and solvents.

Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.

If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and protect it from any accidental use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if the product is visibly damaged, is no longer working properly, has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions, or has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.

Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height can damage the product.

Also observe the safety and operating instructions of any other devices which are connected to the product.

Consult an expert when in doubt about the operation, safety or connection of the device.

Maintenance, modifications and repairs must only be completed by a technician or an authorised repair centre.

Keep proper footing at all times in order to ensure correct balance when working.

Make sure the work area is clear of debris, obstructions and well lit.

Check that no combustible materials are in the area before starting work.

Sparks from the grinder will damage paint, glass and other surfaces.

Do not wear nylon or polyester clothing whilst cutting, wear overalls which have suitable resistance to fire.

Do not wear loose clothing, hair jewelry etc. whilst using the grinder as these may get caught in the disc.

Keep children and bystanders at a safe distance when using the tool.

Inspect the cutting disc for damage including chips, cracks etc before each and every use. Do not use a damaged cutting disc.

Keep the power cord away from the cutting disc.

While using this stand, only attach cutting discs to the hand grinder. Do not use discs designed for grinding.

Place the product on a stable and flat surface. For safety reasons, the base should be mounted to a suitable working surface via the base mounting points. Fasteners are not included.

Use a slotted head screwdriver to loosen the arm pivot rod screw.

Slide the arm pivot rod out.

Attach the clamp arm to the base mount.

You may need to adjust the position of the base mount on the rail to properly align the cutting disc with the cutting slot.

Do not use the grinder without the spark guard attached. The metal guard fitted to the base is for the control of sparks only and not designed to prevent parts of the cutting disc from causing injury. It should be positioned between the cutting disc and the operator.

Attach the spark guard as shown in the Operating Elements using 2 x M6 Nuts, bolts and washers.

Always unplug the grinder before attaching it to the stand, during maintenance, when not in use or before dismantling.

Attach the head of the angle grinder using the supplied angle grinder attachment bolts, nuts and washers.

Use a slotted screwdriver to extend the alignment bolts so the rubber tips are flush against the angle grinder.

Make sure the grinder is not connected to the power supply.

Cutting Disc Alignment: Use a square tool to check that the cutting disc is perpendicular to the base and parallel to the cutting slot. If necessary adjust alignment bolts to adjust the angle of the cutting disc to the base.

Cutting Slot Alignment: Gripping the grinder handle, slowly pull down, and check the position of cutting blade, it should dip into the middle of cutting slot. If not properly aligned, loosen the screws holding the base mount in position and slide it along the rail. If the rail does not provide enough scope for adjustment, you may need to completely remove the base mount from the base and attach to another mounting point. When proper alignment has been achieved, tighten all the bolts and screws.

Run the grinder for a few seconds then switch OFF and disconnect from power supply.

Check that all screws, nuts and bolts are tight, and that the cutting disc is perfectly vertical.

Make any adjustments if necessary.

Warning: Applying excessive force to pull up or push down on the clamp lever may cause it to bend or break.

Rotate the clamp lever anti-clockwise to loosen the clamp jaw.

Loosen the clamp fence if necessary, and adjust the cutting angle. Refer to the angle indicator for precise angles.

Place the work piece between the clamp, check that the cutting point on the work piece is lined up with the centre of the cutting slot.

Tighten all bolts to set the angle and work piece for cutting.

Switch the angle grinder on and gently pull the handle down to begin cutting the work piece.

Always use the minimum amount of force needed to make the cut.

Work patiently and apply the force evenly throughout the cut.

Always use the clamp to secure the work piece. Holding the work piece by hand or against the body is unstable and can lead to loss of control and serious injury.

Do not try to cut materials which are too large to be safely held by the clamp.

Allow the cutting disc to come to a complete stop before attempting to remove any material from the clamp.

Risk of burn. Cutting material and drill may become hot. Wear protective gloves and allow to cool down before touching.

Let cool down if hot, then disconnect the angle grinder from the power supply before removing from the stand.

Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions as they can cause damage to the housing and malfunctioning.

Clean the product with a dry, fibre-free cloth.
