When using your TEKNIX SF114W refrigerator, please adhere to the following safety tips:

• Do not use electrical appliances such as a hair dryer or heater to defrost your Freezer.

• Do not store any containers with flammable materials, such as spray cans or fire extinguisher refill cartridges, in the Freezer.

• Do not place carbonated or fizzy drinks in the Freezer compartment. Ice lollies can cause “Frost/Freeze burns” if consumed straight from the Freezer.

• Do not remove items from the Freezer compartment if your hands are damp/wet, as this could cause skin abrasions or “Frost/Freezer burns”. Bottles and cans must not be placed in the Freezer compartment as they can burst when the contents freeze.

• Adhere to the manufacturer’s recommended storage times. Refer to relevant instructions.

• Do not allow children to tamper with the controls or play with the Freezer. The appliance is heavy, so care should be taken when moving it.

• Do not alter the specification or attempt to modify this product in any way.

• Do not store inflammable gases or liquids inside your Freezer.

• If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons to avoid a hazard.

• This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities under supervision.

• Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

• Keep ventilation openings in the appliance enclosure or in the built-in structure clear of obstruction.

• Do not use mechanical devices or other means to accelerate the defrosting process, other than those recommended by the manufacturer.

• Do not damage the refrigerant circuit.

• Do not use electrical appliances inside the food storage compartments of the appliance, unless they are of a type recommended by the manufacturer.

Your TEKNIX SF114W appliance should be properly grounded for your safety. The power cord is equipped with a three-prong plug that mates with standard three-prong wall outlets to minimize the possibility of electrical shock. Do not, under any circumstances, cut or remove the third ground prong from the power cord supplied.

This refrigerator requires a standard 220-240VAC 50/60Hz electrical outlet with a three-prong ground. It is not designed to be used with an inverter.

The cord should be secured behind the appliance and not left exposed or dangling to prevent accidental injury. Never unplug the refrigerator by pulling the power cord; always grip the plug firmly and pull straight out from the receptacle.

Do not use an extension cord with this appliance. If the power cord is too short, have a qualified electrician or service technician install an outlet near the appliance. Improper use of the grounded plug can result in the risk of electrical shock.

The information about the climate range of the appliance is provided on the rating plate. It indicates at which ambient temperature the operation of the appliance is optimal. The setting of any temperature control device might have to be varied to allow for factors such as the location of the appliance, ambient temperature, and the frequency of door opening.

For proper installation of your TEKNIX SF114W, follow these guidelines:

1. Ventilation and Location:

• Select a well-ventilated position with less hot air.

• Do not locate the refrigerator near a heat source like a cooker or boiler, and avoid direct sunlight.

• Do not locate the refrigerator in a damp place to prevent rusting and electricity leakage.

2. Heat Dissipation Space:

When working, the refrigerator gives off heat. Therefore, you must allow for adequate free space around the unit for heat dissipation. At least 300mm of free space should be spared at the top, more than 100mm on both sides, and above 50mm at the side of the refrigerator.

3. Level Ground:

• Place the refrigerator on a solid and flat ground (floor) to keep it stable and prevent vibration and noise.

• If the refrigerator is placed on flooring materials like carpet, straw mat, or polyvinyl chloride, apply solid backing plates underneath to prevent color change due to heat dissipation.

Ensure that unobstructed ventilation is maintained around the appliance or in an embedded structure.

1. Standing Time: After the refrigerator is properly installed and well cleaned, do not switch it on immediately. Make sure to energize the refrigerator only after more than 1 hour of standing to ensure its normal operation.

2. Cleaning: Confirm all accessory parts are inside the refrigerator and wipe the interior with a soft cloth.

3. Power-on: Insert the plug into a solid socket to start the compressor. After 1 hour, open the freezer door. If the temperature inside the freezer compartment drops obviously, the refrigeration system is working normally.

4. Storage of food: After the refrigerator has run for a period and is fully cooled, you can put food inside. This usually takes 2-3 hours. In summer, when the temperature is high, it may take more than 4 hours for the food to be fully cooled. Try to open the refrigerator door as little as possible before the internal temperature cools down.

Temperature Setting:

The refrigerator temperature setting cycles as follows: 5→4→3→2→1→5. You can adjust the temperature according to your needs.

• The mode can be set between 1 and 5.

• 1 is the warmest setting.

• 5 is the coldest setting.

• The recommended setting is 3.

‘FAST COOL’ Setting:

You can set the ‘fast cool’ function to quickly cool or freeze foods. The fast cool function will exit automatically after 26 hours, or it can be disabled manually.

Food Storage Location:

Due to the cold air circulation, the temperature of each area in the refrigerator is different, so different kinds of food should be placed in different areas.

• Fresh food compartment: Suitable for foods that do not need to be frozen, cooked food, beer, eggs, some condiments that need cold preservation, milk, fruit juice, etc.

• Crisper box: Suitable for the preservation of vegetables, fruits, etc.

• Freezer compartment: Suitable for storing ice cream, frozen food, and foods to be preserved for a long time.

Use of the fresh food compartment:

Set the temperature between 2 °C and 8 °C. To remove a shelf, lift it up first, and then pull it out. When installing, place it into position before putting it down. Keep the shelf rear flange upward to prevent foods from contacting the liner wall.

Cautions for food storage:

• It is best to clean foods and wipe them dry before storing them. Before putting foods in the refrigerator, it is advisable to seal them to prevent water evaporation and taint of odors.

• Do not put too many or too heavy foods inside. Keep enough space between foods to allow for air flow. Do not store excessive or overweight foods to avoid the shelf from being crushed.

• When storing foods, keep a distance from the inner wall. Do not place water-rich foods too close to the fridge’s rear wall, as they may freeze on it.

• Categorised storage: Store foods by category, with the foods you eat every day placed in front of the shelf to shorten door opening duration.

• Energy-saving tip: Allow hot food to cool down to room temperature before putting it in the refrigerator. Put frozen food in the fresh food compartment to thaw, using its low temperature to cool the fresh food.

The freezer temperature is controlled below -18 °C. It is advisable to store food for long-term preservation in the freezer compartment, but the storage duration indicated on the food packaging should be adhered to. The freezer drawers are used to store food that needs to be frozen.

Follow these tips for optimal use:

★ Allow hot foods to cool down to room temperature before putting them in the freezer compartment.

★ Do not put a glass container with liquid or a sealed canned liquid in the freezer compartment to avoid bursting due to volume expansion.

★ Divide food into appropriately small portions.

★ Pack the food before freezing it. The packing bag should be dry to prevent bags from freezing together. Foods should be packed or covered by materials that are firm, tasteless, impervious to air and water, non-toxic, and pollution-free to avoid cross-contamination and odor transfer.

1. When buying frozen food, look at the Storage Guidelines on the packaging. You will be able to store each item for the period shown against the star rating.

2. Check the temperature of the frozen food cabinet in the shop where you buy the frozen foods.

3. Make sure the frozen food package is in perfect condition.

4. Always buy frozen products last on your shopping trip or visit to the supermarket.

5. Try to keep frozen food together whilst shopping and on the journey home, as this will help to keep the food cooler.

6. Don’t buy frozen food unless you can freeze it straight away. Special insulated bags can be bought from most supermarkets and hardware shops.

7. For some foods, thawing before cooking is unnecessary. Vegetables and pasta can be added directly to boiling water or steam cooked.

8. Use quality food and handle it as little as possible. When foods are frozen in small quantities, it will take less time for them to freeze up and thaw.

9. Estimate the amount of foods to be frozen. When freezing large amounts of fresh food, adjust the temperature control knob to the low mode (colder setting) to lower the freezer temperature. This allows foods to freeze faster, keeping them fresh.

Before cleaning, always unplug the power plug first. Do not plug in or pull out the plug with a wet hand to avoid electric shock and injury.

Internal and External Cleaning:

• Food residuals can produce bad odor, so the refrigerator must be cleaned regularly. The fresh food compartment is usually cleaned once a month.

• Remove all shelves, crisper box, bottle racks, cover board, and drawers. Clean them with a soft towel or sponge dipped in warm water or neutral detergent.

• Clear off dust from the rear panel and side plates of the refrigerator often.

• After using detergent, rinse with clean water and then wipe dry.

• Do not use a bristle brush, steel wire brush, detergent, soap powder, alkaline detergent, benzene, gasoline, acid, hot water, or other corrosive or soluble items to clean the cabinet surface, door gasket, or plastic decorative parts, as this can cause damage.

• Carefully wipe the door gasket dry, and clean the groove using a wooden chopstick wrapped with a cotton string.

Defrosting:

After a period of use, a thin layer of frost will form on the freezer compartment inner wall. If it exceeds 5mm in thickness, it may affect refrigeration. You need to clear the frost every 3 months or so.

1. Take out the frozen foods, shut off the mains power supply, and open the refrigerator door.

2. Gently remove the frost from the inner wall with an ice scraper. To speed up thawing, you can place a bowl of hot water inside the refrigerator/freezer.

3. When the solid ice frosts become loose, use an ice scraper to remove them.

4. After defrosting, clean the inside and switch on the power supply.

The LED lamp is used for lighting, which features low energy consumption and long service life. In case of any abnormality, the lamps can only be replaced by the manufacturer, together with a part of the appliance. Contact after-sales personnel for service. The lamp type is LED light.

If your model uses a replaceable bulb, follow these steps:

1. Before carrying out the bulb replacement, press and turn the thermostat control dial to the “OFF” position, then disconnect the mains supply.

2. Hold and lift up the light bulb cover.

3. Remove the old bulb by unscrewing it in an anti-clockwise direction.

4. Replace with a new bulb (10W) by screwing it in a clockwise direction, making sure it is secure in the bulb holder.

5. Refit the light cover and re-connect your refrigerator to the mains supply and switch on.

If your TEKNIX SF114W is completely non-refrigerating, please check the following:

• Inspection: Is the power plug off? Are breakers and fuses broken? Is there no electricity or a line trip?

• Solution: Re-plug the appliance. Open the door and check whether the lamp is lit.

If you hear abnormal noises from your TEKNIX SF114W, check these points:

• Inspection: Is the refrigerator stable? Does the refrigerator reach the wall?

• Solution: Adjust the refrigerator’s adjustable feet. Move the appliance off the wall.

If the refrigerating efficiency of your TEKNIX SF114W seems poor, consider the following causes and solutions:

• Inspection: Do you put hot food or too much food inside? Do you open the door frequently? Do you clip a food bag to the seal of the door? Is it in direct sunlight or near a furnace or stove? Is it well-ventilated? Is the temperature setting in too high?

• Solution: Put food into the refrigerator only when hot food becomes cool. Check and close the door. Remove the refrigerator from the heat source. Ensure enough distance to maintain good ventilation. Set the temperature to the appropriate level.

If you notice a peculiar smell in your TEKNIX SF114W, follow these steps:

• Inspection: Is there any spoiled food? Does the refrigerator need to be cleaned? Do you pack food with strong flavors?

• Solution: Throw away any spoiled food. Clean the refrigerator. Pack food with strong flavors in sealed containers.

If the appliance is placed on its back or side for any length of time during this process, it must be allowed to remain upright for 6 hours before plugging it in to avoid damage to the internal components.

1. Remove the hinge cover and upper hinge from the top right side of the cabinet. Remove the screw hole covers from the top left side of the cabinet.

2. Remove the freezer door from the cabinet. Move the hinge plug from the top left to the top right side of the door.

3. Remove the center hinge from the right side of the cabinet. Remove the screw hole covers from the left side of the cabinet.

4. Remove the refrigerator door from the cabinet. Move the hinge plug from the top left to the top right side of the door.

5. Remove the door stop from the lower right side of the refrigerator door. Install the door stop on the lower left side of the refrigerator door.

6. Remove the lower hinge from the bottom right side of the cabinet. Remove both adjustable feet. Remove the lower hinge pin from the hinge, flip the hinge over and reinstall the hinge pin on the other side. Install the lower hinge on the bottom left side of the cabinet. Install both adjustable feet.

7. Install the refrigerator door. Install the center hinge on the left side of the cabinet. Install the screw hole covers on the right side of the cabinet.

8. Install the freezer door. Install the upper hinge and the hinge cover on the top left side of the cabinet. Install the screw hole covers on the top right side of the cabinet.

Note: Ensure the rubber gaskets are making a good seal with the cabinet all the way around the doors before tightening the hinge screws.

Old appliances still have some surplus value. An environmentally friendly approach will ensure that valuable raw materials are recycled. Warnings for disposal:

※ The refrigerant and cyclopentane foaming material used for the refrigerator are flammable. Therefore, when the refrigerator is scrapped, it shall be kept away from any fire source and be recovered by a special recovering company with corresponding qualification other than being disposed of by combustion, to prevent damage to the environment or any other harm.

※ When the refrigerator is scrapped, disassemble the doors, and remove the gasket of the door and shelves; put the doors and shelves in a proper place, so as to prevent the trapping of any child.
