• CAUTION: The cooling system is under high pressure. Do not touch it.

Before connecting your TECNOLEC TECFZ164NFWH to the power supply, check that the voltage stated on the rating label of your appliance corresponds to the voltage in your home. Before placing food in your new TECNOLEC TECFZ164NFWH freezer:

1. Remove all packaging.

2. Allow the appliance to run empty for 2 – 3 hours so the compartment can cool to the appropriate temperature.

3. Clean the inside of the appliance with warm water and a little liquid detergent to remove manufacturing and transportation dust.

The TECNOLEC TECFZ164NFWH freezer is controlled with a control panel inside it. Repeatedly press SUPER/3s to set the desired temperature in the freezer compartment in a cycle of -14°C, -16°C, -18°C, -20°C, -22°C. The desired temperature will be confirmed after flashing for 5 seconds.

The running time and temperature are affected by where the freezer is located, how often the door is opened, and the temperature of the room. When you first use the appliance, adjust the temperature to the coldest setting (-22°C) for at least 2 hours before introducing food to be stored, and then readjust to the middle setting (-18°C).

The Super freezing mode on the TECNOLEC TECFZ164NFWH helps to freeze food quickly and retain its nutrients, vitamins, flavours, and appearance.

• To activate this mode, press and hold SUPER/3s for about 3 seconds until the SUPER indicator light illuminates.

• This mode will be automatically deactivated after 50 hours of operation, and the appliance will restore to the original temperature setting.

• To manually deactivate this mode, press and hold SUPER/3s for about 3 seconds until the SUPER indicator light goes out.

The TECNOLEC TECFZ164NFWH has two alarms:

• Door opening alarm: If the door is left open for approximately 90 seconds, the alarm will sound. To turn off the alarm, you can close the door.

• Temperature alarm: If high internal temperature of the appliance is detected, a high-temperature alarm will sound. This alarm will switch off automatically only when the detected temperature goes back to normal. To stop the alarm, press SUPER/3s.

If the appliance is turned off for any reason, wait for 10 minutes before turning it back on. This will allow the refrigeration system pressure to equalize before restarting.

• Turn off the appliance and unplug it from the mains socket. Also, remove all mobile parts or fix them into the appliance to avoid any shock.

• Relocate and install. If the appliance has been left on its side for any length of time, leave it standing upright for at least 10 minutes before turning on.

Using the freezer:

• To store deep-frozen food

• To make ice cubes

• To freeze food

Note: Ensure that the freezer door has been closed properly.

Purchasing frozen food:

• Packaging must not be damaged.

• Use by the ‘use by/best before/best by/’ date.

• If possible, transport deep-frozen food in an insulated bag and place quickly in the freezer.

Storing frozen food:

• Store at -18°C or colder. Avoid opening the freezer door unnecessarily.

Freezing fresh food:

• Freeze fresh and undamaged food only.

• To retain the best possible nutritional value, flavour, and colour, vegetables should be blanched before freezing. Aubergines, peppers, zucchini, and asparagus do not require blanching.

Note: Keep food to be frozen away from food which is already frozen.

The following foods are suitable for freezing:

Cakes and pastries, fish and seafood, meat, game, poultry, vegetables, fruit, herbs, eggs without shells, dairy products such as cheese and butter, ready meals and leftovers such as soups, stews, cooked meat and fish, potato dishes, soufflés, and desserts.

The following foods are not suitable for freezing:

Types of vegetables, which are usually consumed raw, such as lettuce or radishes, eggs in shells, grapes, whole apples, pears and peaches, hard-boiled eggs, yoghurt, soured milk, sour cream, and mayonnaise.

To prevent food from losing its flavour or drying out, place food in airtight packaging.

1. Place food in packaging.

2. Remove air.

3. Seal the wrapping.

4. Label packaging with contents and dates of freezing.

Suitable packaging includes plastic film, tubular film made of polyethylene, and aluminium foil. These products are available from specialist outlets.

These times vary depending on the type of food. The food that you freeze can be preserved from 1 to 12 months (minimum at -18°C).

Never forget:

• When you freeze fresh foods with a ‘use by/best before/best by/’ date, you must freeze them before this date expires.

• Check that the food was not already frozen. Indeed, frozen food that has thawed completely must not be refrozen.

• Once defrosted, food should be consumed quickly.

Fill the ice cube tray (not supplied) with 3/4 full of drinking water and place it in the freezer. If the ice cube tray is stuck to the compartment or drawer, loosen with a blunt tool only. To loosen the ice cubes, twist the ice cube tray slightly or hold briefly under flowing water.

The normal noises you may hear from your TECNOLEC TECFZ164NFWH are:

• Motors are running.

• Refrigerant is flowing through the tubing.

For the most energy-efficient use of your appliance:

• Ensure your freezer has adequate ventilation as recommended in the installation instructions.

• Allow warm food and drinks to cool down before placing in the appliance.

• Keep door openings to a minimum.

• Open the appliance as briefly as possible.

• Regularly defrost the freezer to remove the layer of frost.

• Ensure that the door is always closed properly.

If you need to hinge your door on the opposite side, it is recommended that you call your local authorised service agent or ask a technician. Before you reverse the door, you should ensure the appliance is unplugged and empty. It is recommended to use a crosshead screwdriver and a spanner (both not supplied).

Step 1. Remove the upper hinge cover.

Step 2. Remove the screws that fix the upper hinge. Remove the upper hinge.

Step 3. Remove the top left screw cover.

Step 4. Move the core cover from the left side to the right side. And then lift the door and place it on a padded surface to prevent it from scratching.

Step 5. Unscrew the bottom hinge. Then remove the adjustable feet from both sides.

Step 6. Unscrew and remove the bottom hinge pin, turn the bracket over and replace it.

Step 7. Refit the bracket fitting the bottom hinge pin. Replace both adjustable feet.

Step 8. Re-fit the upper hinge while refitting the door. Do not fully tighten the screws.

Step 9. Check the door is aligned horizontally and vertically and that all seals make good contact with the cavity all the way around the cavity opening before finally tightening the hinges. Re-fit the hinge cover and screw cover. Re-adjust the levelling feet, if necessary.

Step 10. Detach the door gasket and then attach it after rotating.

No, the TECNOLEC TECFZ164NFWH is equipped with a frost-free system. This system enables the freezer compartment to remain permanently ice-free. However, the food stored in the freezer drawers will not defrost.

Upon installation of your new appliance, it is recommended to clean it thoroughly. It is also recommended to clean the freezer each time it is defrosted to help keep it running efficiently. Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or solvents.

1. Disconnect the mains plug from the mains socket.

2. Take out the food and store it in a cool location.

3. Clean the appliance with a soft cloth, warm water, and detergent.

4. Wipe the door seal with clear water only and then wipe dry thoroughly.

5. Plug in the appliance and adjust the temperature.

6. Put the food back into the appliance.

Cleaning tips:

• Remove the drawers from the appliance. Wash them in warm soapy water with a soft sponge. Rinse and dry thoroughly.

• Wipe the interior parts with a damp cloth soaked in a mixture of warm water and dishwashing liquid. For stubborn stains, use baking soda.

• Wipe down the doors, including edges, with a microfiber cloth dampened with a mild dishwashing liquid and water. Use a wet sponge and a soft brush (such as a toothbrush) to remove any stuck-on food.

If your TECNOLEC TECFZ164NFWH does not operate, check the following:

• Check that the freezer is plugged into the mains socket properly and that the outlet is switched on.

• Check the fuse is not blown.

• Check the circuit breaker is not tripped.

If your TECNOLEC TECFZ164NFWH is noisy, try these solutions:

• Check that the freezer is placed on a level surface.

• Check that the appliance is not touching the wall or other objects. Move the appliance slightly.

• Check that a component, e.g., a pipe, on the rear of the appliance is not touching another part of the appliance or the wall. If necessary, carefully bend the component out of the way.

If the temperature inside your TECNOLEC TECFZ164NFWH is too high, consider these possible causes and solutions:

• Set the temperature control to a lower temperature and allow several hours for the temperature to stabilize.

• The door is kept open too long or is opened too frequently. Warm air enters the freezer every time the door is opened. Open the door less often.
