If the STARTECH USB32VGAEH equipment causes harmful interference, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, you are encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:

• Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.

• Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.

• Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.

• Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.

The package for the STARTECH USB32VGAEH includes the following items:

To use the STARTECH USB32VGAEH, your system must meet the following requirements:

• USB enabled computer system with available USB 3.0 or 2.0 port

• CPU: Quad Core 2.4GHz or Higher (i5 recommended)

• RAM: 4GB or higher

• Microsoft® 7 (32/64-bit) 8 (32/64-bit)

Please ensure that the driver installation is complete prior to the physical installation (plugging in) of the STARTECH USB32VGAEH. Ensure the adapter is not connected to the host computer during this process.

1. Download the latest drivers (recommended) or insert the included Driver CD into your CD/DVD-ROM drive.

2. Locate the Setup.exe application. This file will be located in the root directory of the Driver CD (e.g. D:\) or downloaded file.

3. Executing the Setup.exe application will launch the installation screen. Please click Next > to start the installation process. The set-up program will install the device driver and software application respectively.

4. Once Windows has finished the driver installation, it will prompt you to restart the computer. Select “Yes, I want to restart my computer now”, and click the “Finish” button.

1. Once the computer has restarted after driver installation, connect your STARTECH USB32VGAEH device via the USB cable to your PC.

2. The system will initiate driver and software application installation. The screen may flash or go black during the install.

3. Connect your VGA monitor to the available VGA port on the STARTECH USB32VGAEH device.

4. The USB Video Adapter is now ready for use.

The STARTECH USB32VGAEH includes a 1 port USB 3.0 hub to replace the port taken up by the device. NOTE: If the USB display adapter is connected to a USB 2.0 host port, the hub will only operate at USB 2.0 speeds.

1. Ensure the Hardware Installation steps have been completed. USB Hub drivers will install as part of the installation when the device is connected.

2. Connect the USB A type cable from your desired USB device to the USB female port on the Display adapter.

3. Follow any installation steps for the device connected.

Ensure you have the latest version of the drivers installed.

1. Complete the standard driver installation steps, up to when you plug in the first USB Video Adapter.

2. Connect another monitor/display to the second STARTECH USB32VGAEH, and turn on the display.

3. Connect the USB type A connector on the second adapter to an available USB 3.0 port on the host computer. The driver installation will begin automatically.

Repeat these steps for each additional STARTECH USB32VGAEH you wish to install. Once all adapters are installed, reboot the computer. After rebooting, you may be prompted to reboot one final time; please do so.

Look for the “USB Video Adapter” icon on your Windows System Tray (next to the Clock). Right-click this icon to configure the STARTECH USB32VGAEH adapter using the available options.

Right-clicking the “USB Video Adapter” icon in the System Tray provides quick access to the Windows® “Display Settings” window. This option allows you to use the native Windows Display Settings to adjust all settings including: Resolution, monitor placement, and choose whether the additional display will extend or mirror the main display.

This option displays the identification number assigned by Windows® to differentiate between each monitor. Using an easy to read overlay, this number is displayed in the upper right corner of each monitor.

The Multi-Display Control Panel is a unique feature that allows for quicker and simpler management of a multi-display environment. It uses a series of hotkeys to quickly move the active program window to the desired display (either on-board or each STARTECH USB32VGAEH). The default setting of the hotkeys can be found in the Hotkey List of the “Multi-Display Control Panel”. For example, Ctrl + 2 means to move the window to Display 2.

NOTE: Connect a maximum of five STARTECH USB32VGAEH adapters on a single PC.
