What items are included with the SETRA SRMD?
Before installing your SETRA SRMD, please check the box to ensure the following items are included:
1. Mounting Plate (with single or dual display in the ordered color: green, red, or blue)
2. Faceplate Bezel (White or Metallic Finish, as ordered)
3. Engineering units label set
What are the power and signal specifications for the SETRA SRMD?
The SETRA SRMD can be powered by 24 VAC/DC. It can accept 0 to 5 or 0 to 10 VDC transducer signals from remote sensors, which can measure temperature, humidity, CO2, etc.
What is the correct procedure for the rough-in installation of the SETRA SRMD?
Install the SETRA SRMD in a 4 11/16″ square electrical box. Run the power and signal wiring into the box. Two wires are for the 24 VAC/DC power, and two wires are for each of the signal lines from the field sensors to the display. For example, the single display version would require 2 wires for the signal, and the dual display needs 2 wires for each of the two displays.
Run the wiring to the 24 VAC/DC source and to the sensors that are to be monitored. The power to the sensors is not supplied by the displays.
How should the electrical box be positioned for the SETRA SRMD installation?
It is very important that the box be set 1/16″ to 1/8″ below the finish wall so that the faceplate will seal against the finished wall. If possible, allow for adjustment at the finish stage to set the depth correctly.
How do I wire the SETRA SRMD to power and field sensors?
Each display on the SETRA SRMD has a terminal strip. Use the following connections for wiring:
+E – Excitation, 24 VAC
COM – 2 terminals connected together, wire to 24 VAC and to the common of the field sensor
+S – wire to the field sensor
Note: If you are using field sensors that are not Setra’s SRH humidity/temperature sensors, you must calibrate the display before completing the wiring.
How can I set the decimal point on the SETRA SRMD display?
You can set the decimal point using the Dip Switch Settings on the back of the mounting plate. The settings are as follows:
DP1: 000.0
DP2: 00.00
DP3: 0.000
DP4: 0000
When is calibration required for the SETRA SRMD?
If you have the Setra humidity and temperature sensor, the displays are already calibrated and ready to use. If you are using other sensors, you must calibrate the display’s output signal to the engineering units. Calibration is not needed if your sensors have a 0 to 5 or 0 to 10 V output and the display is set to the factory default of 0 to 100.
What is the factory default calibration of the SETRA SRMD?
The factory default calibration of the display is for a 0 to 5 VDC field sensor input, which will produce a display reading of 0.0 at 0 V and 100.0 at 5 V. If the range jumper switch is set to the 10 V input position, the calibration will be 0.0 at 0 V and 100.0 at 10 V.
How do I perform a zero and span calibration on the SETRA SRMD?
To perform a zero and span calibration, you will need a calibrated Voltage Source.
1. Set the range dip switch to either 5 V (for a 0 to 5 V input) or 10 V (for a 0 to 10 V input) position.
2. Set the Voltage Source to 0 VDC and connect it to the +S and COM terminals on the display.
3. Check the field sensor’s input and output specification to complete the specific calibration steps for zero and span.
How would I calibrate a SETRA SRMD for a humidity sensor with a 0-100% RH and 0 to 5 VDC output?
1. Make sure the range jumper is in the 5V position.
2. Apply 0 V to the input. If necessary, turn the ZERO potentiometer (pot) until the display reads 0.0.
3. Apply 5 VDC to the input and turn the pot labeled 5V until the display reads 100.0.
How do I calibrate a SETRA SRMD for a temperature sensor with a 50-90°F range and a 0 to 10 VDC output?
1. Move the range jumper from the 5V to the 10V position.
2. Apply 0 VDC to the input and turn the ZERO pot until the display reads 50.0.
3. Apply 10V to the input and turn the 10V pot until the display reads 90.0.
How do I adjust the display brightness of the SETRA SRMD?
While looking at the display, turn the Display brightness adjust pot (labeled VR4 on the circuit board) to the desired brightness.
How do I install the mounting plate for the SETRA SRMD?
After adjusting and verifying the depth of the electrical box relative to the finish wall, install the mounting plate to the electrical box. Be sure that the displays are installed right side up. Install the 2 mounting screws to secure the mounting plate to the electrical box.
How do I install the faceplate on the SETRA SRMD?
There are 4 pins on the back of the faceplate. Align the pins with the rubber grommets in the mounting plate. Slowly and evenly push the bezel until the back of the bezel is flush against the finish wall.
After the faceplate is installed, choose the appropriate Engineering unit labels for the display(s) and place them where you want them on the faceplate.
How should I prepare a SETRA SRMD for return for repair?
When returning a SETRA SRMD product, the material should be carefully packaged and shipped prepaid.
