The SC&T HKM02BP-4K is an AV over IP extender that utilizes AV over IP technology to route up to 1,000 4K HDMI sources to up to 60,000 displays over IGMP and Jumbo frame protocol gigabit PoE switches. It is designed for signal extending, distributing, switching, and routing.

The SC&T HKM02BP-4K features include resolution up to 4K@30Hz 4:4:4, signal extension up to 150M over CAT5e (or greater) or 60KM over fiber optic cable, compatibility with PoE switches for various networking applications, a built-in loop out at the TX side, 4 USB ports, support for up to 8×16 video walls, video scaler capabilities, audio embedding and extraction, and transmission of USB, RS232, IR, and analog audio.

The SC&T HKM02BP-4K can be managed via Windows based software, Android/iOS APP, Web GUI, IR remote, panel pushbutton, Telnet API, and RS232 console.

Press the channel button ” – ” and then power on the SC&T HKM02BP-4K. The power and link LED will flash to indicate that it has been reset to default.

On your IR remote, press MENU, then press 3, 3, 3, and finally press ENTER to reset the SC&T HKM02BP-4K to default.

The SC&T HKM02BP-4K features three primary buttons: -, +, and MENU. A short press of – reduces a number, while a short press of + increases a number. A short press of MENU serves as Enter or Menu/Cancel. Pressing these buttons for 1 second allows you to use ‘Carry’ or ‘Decomposition’ functions, while pressing for 3 seconds allows you to Lock or Unlock buttons when no OSD menu is active.

Power (Green): On means boot completed, Flash Twice means booting, Flash Slowly means transmitter stop link or receiver video output turned off, Breathing indicates screen saver mode.

Link (Blue): On means connected and video is streaming, Flash means connecting or no source input from transmitter.

IR (Red): On means transmitting or receiving IR signal.

UTP (Green): On means connected by UTP RJ45 port, Flash means transmitting or receiving data from UTP RJ45 port.

SFP (Blue): On means connected by Fiber SFP port, Flash means transmitting or receiving data from Fiber SFP port.

MSG (Red): On means other messages (IR, RS232, system setting), Flash 2 to 9 times indicates a system warning or alert.

The flash counts on the SC&T HKM02BP-4K indicate the following:

Always ON: IR control, RS232 control, system setting.

2: IR control disabled.

3: Transmitters channel conflict.

4: DHCP server not found.

5: Rest to factory default.

6: Engineering mode or firmware update mode.

7: Manufacture setting mode.

8: Aux system stopped.

9: Aux system firmware boot sector error.

10: Aux system firmware type error.

To set the Remote ID, press and hold the power button on the remote, then press button 8 on the remote to complete the setting.

When connecting the transmitter and receiver directly using CAT5e/CAT6 cable without an Ethernet switch, the maximum transmission distance is 150M. This can be extended using an SR01X repeater or a Gigabit Switch hub that supports IGMP and Jumbo Frame 8K.

When the receiver is in screen saver mode (30 seconds without video input), you can press any button on the IR remote or on the front panel to wake it up.

You can turn the monitor on or off by pressing the POWER button on the IR remote. To turn it on using the panel, press buttons CH- and CH+ together.

The IR Quick Block function, enabled by pressing # # #, causes the SC&T HKM02BP-4K receiver to ignore IR control signals until you press any panel button or the IR remote button * three times. To quit IR block mode, press * * *.

Press MENU + POWER on the IR remote to immediately switch between TV Wall and Single monitor modes.

Press MENU + A on the IR remote to add the current channel to the favorite list in the menu. A maximum of 32 channels can be added.

Press MENU + B on the IR remote to remove the current channel from the favorite list in the menu.

Press MENU + A to switch to message mode to receive responses instead of OSD. Press MENU + B to switch to extender mode.

It is recommended to set the RS232 routing for all receivers to one transmitter on the SC&T HKM02BP-4K to avoid the RS232 connection breaking when video channel switching occurs.

The command format is >CMD_Address> Command Parameters. Note that the address, command, and parameters are characters, not hex code, and that an Enter (LF or CR+LF) is required to execute the command.

Use the command: FAVORITE ADD [ 0~999 ], where [ 0~999 ] is the channel number you wish to add.

Use the command: CHANNEL [ 0~999 ], where [ 0~999 ] is the channel number.

Use the command: FAVORITE CLR to clear the favorite channel list.

You have to click the “Pause/Break” key on the keyboard connected to the SC&T HKM02BP-4K receiver three times, or use the IR remote menu function 14 to establish the USB connection.

For the receiver: Check the sticker at the bottom, connect a monitor to see the Local IP on the right bottom, or use MENU 1 on the IR remote/panel button.

For the transmitter: Check the sticker at the bottom, connect a monitor to the receiver to see the Remote IP on the right bottom, or use MENU 6 on the IR remote/panel button.

Please check if the network switch is running under gigabit and if the IGMP and Jumbo Frame functions are enabled on the switch.

The SC&T HKM02BP-4K receiver will show a blank screen or display the last still image for a few seconds.

Check the battery in the IR remote (especially in low temperature environments) and reset the IR ID according to the user manual.

The front panel IR sensor of the SC&T HKM02BP-4K is disabled when an external IR cable is plugged in.

In the Web configuration, go to the System tab, then to the Update Firmware section. Click “Select File” to browse for the firmware file on your local disk, then click “Upload” to start the update process. Do not refresh, close, switch tabs, or power off during the update.

Fast Switch mode allows switching without stopping the link. It works best when the resolution, frame rate, scan mode, color depth, color space, interface (HDMI/DVI), and HDCP mode are all the same between sources.

In the Web configuration, go to the Video Wall tab. Use “Basic Setup” to define Bezel and Gap Compensation (entering outside width/height and viewable width/height in millimeters). Use “Wall Size and Position Layout” to set the number of monitors (Vertical 1~8, Horizontal 1~16) and the position of the individual monitor (Row 0~7, Column 0~15).

The audio input of the SC&T HKM02BP-4K receiver only works in unicast mode, and the audio in/out of the transmitter must be connected. Furthermore, the audio input is designed for a mono Mic in, not for stereo Line in.

A Gigabit switching hub must support IGMP and Jumbo Frame over 8K to achieve the best quality with the SC&T HKM02BP-4K. It is also recommended not to work with existing LAN connections to avoid large video/data transmissions or multicast packets slowing down other devices.

The Conflict Check function will check the transmitter channel number at booting, reconnection, and before switching. If a channel number already exists, the connection will be interrupted.

When you load the default settings on the SC&T HKM02BP-4K, the settings will be automatically saved.

The RS232 command interface for the SC&T HKM02BP-4K does not support backspace, delete, or arrow keys for modification. If you type a command incorrectly, you must enter a newline and re-enter the full command.

Use the RS232 command: RS232 BAUD [ 0~9 ], where 0 is 115200 bps, 1 is 57600 bps, 2 is 38400 bps, etc.
